Didn't know Geoff had passed away until I read the comments here.
I played PLOK so much growing up, and it's the kind of game I can find myself coming back to whenever I feel myself in need of something I can just lose myself in for a while.
You've done such an incredible job of restoring this track, and explaining just how much the brothers cared about their work and the amount of effort they put into making the most of what was available to them at the time.
Thank you for this, I know Geoff wasn't a big fan of the hobby, but I'm sure you've done his and Tim's work justice for many people who love the game.
You think I might be joking, but I consider this one of the best days of my 23 years of living. You are a saint.

One of my best in my 44 years of living. OG Plok! player - used to sit in front go my TV and listen to this. Rarely heard the tracks after this because the game was so hard.

This is the best alternate version of plok - beach because now the part at 0:49 sounds strong enough to incapacitate a small Victorian child. Great Work!

I also love how Follin changes up the time signature of the intro to 4/4 when it loops around for the second half of the song
What section are you talking about? The beginning of the loop is still in 7, just slower than the first time. Time stamp?
Phenomenal rendition! what I always found peculiar about this track is, despite its name, doesn't use instruments that video game music typically uses to impart a wavy beachy tone. And yet it still manages to do so. Fantastic composition all around.

Just one small detail (not a deal breaker at all): The bass line that plays when returning to the intro (2:26) seems to be omitted in this rendition, which makes it sound just a bit empty.
Other than that, you've done a magnificent work once more!

This video makes me want to play Plok even more now. Even though I had a SNES in the 90s it's one of the games that slipped past my radar at the time. I remember seeing ads for it in gaming magazines but I never saw TV commercials for it and none of my friends had it. A big way we would get hyped on games as kids would be going over to our friends houses and playing them, or renting them on a whim at Blockbuster.
I don't recall ever seeing Plok for rent either : (

Most restorations (especially the DKC ones which have garnered a shit ton of views for whatever reason) have the fatal flaw of muting out a channel or at worst completely altering it. Yours succeeds in all areas.

This is incredible! Made my heart feel so happy. I still have my original plok cartridge for the SNES- I never actually beat this game when I was a kid. Is that embarrassing? Well I didn’t lol. But I still love the OST dearly. It’s nice to see that someone else remembers it and loves it (or at least the music) to do what you’ve done! It’s quite incredible, thank you so much!!! Just astoundingly cool stuff. Even as a kid I recognised Plok sounded way different to the other stuff I was playing on the SNES. Great to see it get love and thank you for your hard work!

Fantastic restoration work. The guitar tone here is basically the same as Rock n' Roll Racing, which the Follins were writing around the same time as this. If any SNES game was screaming for a restored version, that would be it. So many of the tricks used here were also used in that soundtrack; the work done here would translate pretty well to it.

My only gripe about this is that the sampled strings at the beginning shouldn't restart each time it's played, it should have it's volume modulated instead like the rest of the song.
I appreciate the work you've done in restoring such an incredible track to it's former glory. It sounds beautiful. The effort must have been taxing but you managed to capture the magic in it's entirety. I really hope you'd consider doing more tracks from the game, I would love to hear Plok's House theme restored.
