The whole ensemble is exceptional. Sarah Willis again sets the gold standard in low horn. Radek's tone is beyond belief. Pure Gold. Stefan also does an incredible job backing up Radek.
@@EpochIsEpic Piano definitely gets a bad rep for being easy to pick up, but I agree it's hard to master. Tons of different techniques. Horn is about mastering the basics and applying them to the highest degree you can. At least from my experience.
@@EpochIsEpic I disagree, you can't compare a french horn to a piano. If you have a piano key there's only one single tone coming out. The french horn has about 15 or more tones for each valve only produced by your own body. I don't think playing piano is easy, but on the french horn in my opinion it's harder to get that good like those guys 👆🏽
@klo1024 I admire Sarah's talent very much and imagine that she could probably play first chair in any other orchestra. She might have already had other offers, but is doing what she loves and does best. (and after playing the Berlin Philharmonic a person might consider any other a let down) In my opinion she is #1 in the world at playing the 4th horn position.
@Mozart3150 I don't think this one is available on CD/DVD unfortunately. There is, however, a CD by the Berlin Philharmonic Horn Ensemble, called "OPERA!" .
@neferiel I haven't found it too challenging to play, personally. Having come off Trumpet, that gave me a position that was naturally disposed to high playing, which has made quite some difference. Trombone will probably mean you have a lower lip position.
Sarah's low range blows my mind. I hope one day I can play that well.

How is it humanly possible to play this well?
Ruben Greenberg practice, practice, practice.
YES!!!!!!!!
Shows off the incredible range of the horn.A magical instrument.
Kerry Turner is amazing... I love his music
Playing this with the Middle Tennessee State University Horn Ensemble. So much fun!
Oh how I love this.
Amazing! Love to watch the musicians.
French horn is considered to be the hardest instrument in the entire world.
Lord of Ravens yah but it piss ne off to see videos putting us on no. 2
Personally i think piano is harder to master, but easier to start playing. There is no real “hardest instrument”. I play horn if anyone is curious.

The best so far in composition. I love the various tone qualities individuals choose.
Sarah Willis is my idol for second horn playing (I've always thought of myself as being more of a second horn player than first).
Cool piece

I know how they master the horn like that. SIXTEEN HOURS OF PRACTICE A DAY
Read Fergus McWilliam's book and you'll understand that it may be not the real way to go.
40 hours a day, Ling Ling or nothing
Whats up with the 2nd’s tone and doing his own versions of the articulations in the beginning....Amazing otherwise...beyond amazing low horn playing.

I have to say I'm a *little* annoyed that horns have been tasked to mimic the drones of a bagpipe, but it turns out okay in the end
How can u get a French horn to get that low
playing this well, (low or high register), takes takes gobs of practice.
Just be Sarah Willis
The bald guy is Stefan de Leval Jezierski. An american.

バボラークとシュテファンドール仲悪すぎん?笑
やっぱりバボラークの(音色の)方向性が、ベルリン・フィルのと合わなかったんでしょうね。
le grave de Sarah Willis est débile.
