Outstanding! Love the virtuosity of these hornists. I appreciate your work and do not care for any negative comments regarding this post! Surely any French Horn Player would love to play this well.
Unfortunately I'm too old to learn this beautiful instrument. I want to study in Berlin for visiting as much concerts as I can. Thanks for this affecting music - I'm 1519 km away from home but never alone also because of music like this. Danke!
Everybody in Berlin plays an Alexander 103 except third horn Klaus Wallendorf who plays an 1103. Honestly it's probably one of the reasons they blend so well together. Not to say that it's the only reason, but it certainly helps.
hola, tengo 19 años y estudio hace 2 el corno.. he pensado en dedicarme a el.. pero no sé si será muy tarde para aprender? pues la mayoría comienza cuando niño. Saludos desde Chile.
I like these guys' recording of this, but I still think Kerry's group and the NY horns version on the Take 9 CD is the best I've heard. Mr Turner really is a good composer :P
Holy crap Sarah Willis is kickass. Anyone can play a high concert F/F# on the horn. But to be playing low E and lower with that tone? Only Sarah Willis...
ummm not really that i know of but it does not matter what they play what matters is that you make your horn sound like that. An amateur plays what the professionals play and stay content Professionals make due with what they have and make it better
Radek Baborak's solo part is just.... PERFECT!!!
Still perfect :) 1:03
Kerry's father, Ken Turner, was our band teacher in high school!!!! Loved him!

Wish we could get more of these :)
Baboraks tone at 1:06 is astoundingly pleasing to the ear!

@liteshark Superb is an understatement. To play with clarity and a (really) good horn sound down there is something us mere mortals can only dream of.

this rocks.
@SpaZmonkeyWenGer it's also a recording. This is live...tough comparison to make.
wow!
It looks like he has one of the older Alex's. The (good) older ones sound better than the new ones of today. But that's just me.
I think they all got the Alexander 103, didn't they?
P0dDels I know this is super late but I believe there is one player using a geyer wrapped horn.
I know him...but what horn does he play?
Dürk?
For my ears Baborak is as good as it gets.

The 2 people who disliked this probably listen to Justin Bieber.
