The Animal Welfare Fund (AWF) is supported by generous Michigan taxpayers through voluntary contributions (Form 4642) on their state tax returns. These contributions help Michigan’s registered animal shelters receive the support they need to help local animals!

Spay/neutering is Part #1 of responsible pet ownership and b/c pets can bring so much to ppl lives, especially mental health that this needs all the funding we can spare by fundamentally pre-helping the many folks that need the countless benefits of pets like companionship and exercise that makes so many owners fall in love and thrive. I think owners in programs like this should also be provided whatever follow-up care that can be subsidized but this initial lighting of some of the burden of costs (since pets are super expensive long term) will help so many ppl make that initial introduction we all maay need so thank you for you important work.
