Oh really, if it was so advantageous, why do pretty much all new phones have a 3.5mm jack? Do you not know what evolution means? People evolve on what they find useful and what they don't. The consumers can control when a universal technology gets phased out to 'evolve' by their response. People will buy different phones. Companies will make money that Apple can't get their hands on without contradicting their point when lightning splitter cases are made in production. All shaping up the future for the 3.5mm jack. At any rate get fuckt because you don't know shit about what you're talking about. www.engadget.com/2016/09/30/fuze-iphone-7-headphone-case/ ~ People _will_ buy these types of cases.
Yeah, it was obvious that the box had already been opened. The most obvious indicator is that the box is missing items. The original Game Boy came with not just the system, link cable and Tetris, but also came with a set of batteries and a pair of stereo headphones in the box. You can see that both of those are missing from this unboxing.
i got my first game boy for christmas 1995, i was 8 years old! i sold it in january 1999 and got the extreme green gameboy pocket then got the color for christmas in 2000.
My original gameboy is somewhere in my grandmas house, I hid it when I was 5 and don't know where. My gameboy color is across the room, GB advance got my brother, but ordered a new one yesterday 😂
I hate collectors who don't open their boxes. Nooooo it's just for me to put in a shelf! Seriously, just play with your collection with care and enjoy the hell out of it.
Honestly I collect stuff to put it on the shelf but if it is a box like for the the game boy box I open it but save the box so I use the game but keep the box and manual on display
I feel you Austin, the nostalgia hit me to big time as soon as you unboxed that gorgeous piece of kit. Damn Ive so manny happy memories of me and that grey slab of plastic, it’s almost overwhelming ❤️
+Austin Evans hey Austin, this is guys! How much did you paid for this tresure? :O Asking aut of curiosity. But reply alone will be enough ;) And Great video as always 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I’m a 40 year old woman, sat in 2023 watching unboxing of original game boy…. i searched for this. Thank you for taking me back to the best xmas morning ever !
Nice to know this phone still works today. Incredible. I purchased one of those original 1989 Nintendo Game Boy in July 1996. I never call Nintendo. I still have my 1996 Game Boy...and it still in working condition.
They need to re-release this console true to the original but with improvements such as being able to see the screen better, as long as it can play original cartridges too, that would be awesome!! ❤️🙏🏼
I still have my game boy color I bought in the 90s and I still play it. It's still in top condition other then having to fiddle with it to keep the speaker working and having to blow in carts.
I remember having a light boy. It was an accessory that shaped on the back of your GB and it flipped over your screen and had a transparent piece of plastic with 2 tiny light bulbs on either side that illuminated the screen so you could play it in the dark. It took 2 AAs and you had to buy a new one when the bulbs went out...man I loved the 90s.
That’s neat, I was 10yrs old when my parents got me this for Xmas, I still have it to this very day, I’m just missing the small tab on the game boy that you connect the link wire too. I just wish I could’ve save the box. Good video!
The Game Boy I had was also an original. Some of my favorite games were the Final Fantasy games, Metroid, and loads of others. It seems like it had an ac adapter. I also bought a hard shell carry case with foam padded interior for it, plus a lighted magnifier for the screen. I loved it. I must have collected at least 100 games for it. Ultimately, I gave it all to my son.
Hurriname He just means because it was in such good condition, and Austin implied it had *never* been opened and left sealed (Which it hadn't). But if it was still sealed, Would you really want to break a 27 year old seal? when you unseal something like that you are making a very rare thing even rare. And don't throw the 'so you can use it. duh' at me because if you want a gameboy to play there are millions of ones that have been unboxed, and plenty are in great condition, with the original packaging, like the one Austin has. No point in opening one that's one of a few still sealed when you can get one unsealed, with basically brand new condition
I just watched the Home Christmas VHS tape where I opened my Gameboy. My family had just gotten a new camcorder and we always went to my Grandparents with the entire family for noon after we opened gifts at our house. Aunts, uncles, cousins were all there. My dad brought the camcorder and the video continues. In the second half of the video I got the hip pouch from my grandmother. I was so excited. She just passed away and I , as a realtor, sold her house in November. 41 years of memories. The biggest and most awesome family Christmases, Easters, Thanksgivings ever! Thousands of memories. I watch that video now and 7 of the people (grandparents, aunts, uncles)are no longer with us. Including my dad. All gone way too early. My grandmother was the last to go. Things are so different now. The memories attached to the Gameboy for me are just out of this world. The 90s were so good and Im so glad I got to be a part of that time. The movies, the consoles, the music... Its crazy how I came here to watch this video and that all rushed back to me.
1st, Not every game console in the 80s and 90s were just black and white. The NES, SNES, and N64 were extremely colorful. 2nd, the Gameboy did eventually get a color screen in the form of the GB Color. Bonus, the reason the first Gameboy consoles had no backlit screen was because they drained batteries really quickly.
I just bought a gameboy color because it was super cheap but now i'm sometimes just sitting at home playing with my gameboy instead of newer technologies... it just got something really fascinating
Very cool to see I am not the only Gameboy Geek! I just completely restored my Original Gameboy that I bought when I was 13! Lot's of memories! Now it's as good as new and still fun AF to play!
Remember that the original Nintendo GameBoy came out in the late 1980s... Of course, I know you are joking :) You are most likely smart enough to know that the GameBoy product line is an old one that was discontinued quite some time ago.
Oh man thats one nostalgic video! I had to share my Game Boy with my sister. I dont remember ever seeing the box, and if it did come with the link cable, I never saw that either. User to play Mario, Mortal Combat, Tetris and some other random games. We used to get those 15 in 1 cartridges (or something like that) of which 10 games were unplayable, 4 were crap and 1 was half decent. Ah the good old days.
Once upon a time video game, simple and efficient. No DLC, no day one patch, game's manual and that's it... I love this console I'd the clear one, amusing hardware, tones of hours playing 😍
my cousin just gifted me a green game boy like the one i had in the 90s... man memories instantly flooded my head.. what an amazing gaming console.. haha i would steal the tv remote batteries just to keep playing now i feel like getting back my gb pocket, color, gba sp back..
I've always really liked the Gameboy as well. My brother had the Game Gear, so I never had an original Gameboy growing up. I got a Gameboy Pocket in 1998 just for Pokemon, and then later a Gameboy Color, but I still always had a fascination with the original (especially in the different colors). The gameboy (including the Advance) was my favorite system for a long time. Something about having an underpowered system that could still do impressive and fun things with games was exciting to me. I eventually got an original GB for free from a buddy maybe 10 years ago. It's scratched up, and the sound sometimes stops working, but there's still something about it that I like.
I'm 24, so my gameboy era started with the thinner non-color version. But there will still tons of kids with this one [: Then shortly after the color came out, my mom got it for me in a bundle with Pokemon gold. Such nostalgia, nothing can beat those days.
The Game Boy featured the "A", "B", "SELECT", and "START" buttons as well as a directional pad (d-pad), which make the controls similar to the popular NES.
Original box yes, mint Gameboy no. It has noticeable wear and tear. The screen cover had been off at some point (you can see bust particles behind the plastic), the texture lines on the D-pad have been faded out from years of use, the sticker on the back is peeling off (again from considerable use), and perhaps most noticeable, is the missing cover for the Ext. port above the volume knob.
One Perfect Nice machine there! The Best gameboy of Them all! I collect a lot of Nintendo, owns around 20 different Nintendo machines, and i have never seen such a Perfect box like the one in this video. I mean How is that even possible?! That box is almost 30 years old! Very nice👏👏
I just got an original Gameboy with the intention of modding it with a custom shell and screen and whatnot. It’s in such good condition that I almost can’t bring myself to do it. It would be like destroying a small piece of gaming history.
All my friends who wee born in 1998/9 had a Game Boy Advance SP. I loved it too. And oh yes they'd play Pokemon and Dragon BallZ against each other on it using the cable.
It baffles me how 27 years later, we have devices that are way smaller than this, have rechargeable batteries that last way longer, don't need cartridges, have way nicer screens that can produce 16+ million colors, can read your fingerprint and your eye to UNLOCK themselves so others can't use them, have touch screens, have built in cameras, are way faster, and can open games that take up twice as much data, without stuttering. Technology is amazing.
Why in the world did you open that it’s so rare to see unopened ones and they are getting harder and harder each day to find because of people like Austin
Huh. So, the Game Boy can run at 60FPS, and it has a headphone jack.
Take note, Apple.
What do you mean by 60fps??
Thats why Apple includes an adapter for the headphone jack right?
Zte king
People don't want an adapter, they want something convenient.
oh i was replying to Syuna

Hey Austin, this is guys!
this is hey, austin guys
Austin is this, guys hey!
Is this Austin, guys hey!
MERCURIKE TOO OLD
Is Austin this, Guys hey!
Everyone's complaining "why did he unbox it?!" It prolly wasn't sealed but everything kept in great condition.
I bought an imacculate boxed one in 2016 and carefully take it out in public every now and then. I didn't buy it to not use at all!
*Probably
It was meant to be played. I miss mine.
Something that not even some of the most new and expensive thing has today, a headphone jack.
TRIGGERED
definately
how come the gba didnt have a headphone jack?
haha. he just roast apple! XD
GBA didn't have an headphone port and it was a mistake, which is why the next handhelds, GB Micro and DS did have it back
rebane2001 The GBA did have a headphone jack
i got my first game boy for christmas 1995, i was 8 years old! i sold it in january 1999 and got the extreme green gameboy pocket then got the color for christmas in 2000.
Nice I'm thinking about buying an original gameboy
My original gameboy is somewhere in my grandmas house, I hid it when I was 5 and don't know where.
My gameboy color is across the room, GB advance got my brother, but ordered a new one yesterday 😂
Holy shit. Austin's arms are veiny. He must be hitting the gym hardcore. And I don't mean the Pokemon kind.
He looks fucking weird. Like he only trains arms or something. Maybe even roids.
I think you meant the jerking off type.
Welcome to the gun show
I know a couple of people who has veiny arms and don't work out. They're as thin as Austin..
He works out with lotion and at his desk next to his computer
THAT JAB AT IPHONE THO🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
IKR shots fired
IKR THAT WAS SICK
IKR IKR
And the moto z
Jab? More like a fucking falcon punch to the nuts holy shit xDD
I hate collectors who don't open their boxes. Nooooo it's just for me to put in a shelf! Seriously, just play with your collection with care and enjoy the hell out of it.
A lot of collectors collect for value. Once you open an item of value that has been unopened for decades, it loses much of its value.
I've got two old synths which are immaculate despite being 30 years old. They get played. That's what they were made for, as with this Game Boy.
“Oh hey, I have something that’s really rare now! ... lEtS kEeP iT oN a SheLf AnD nEvEr UsE iT aGaIn!”
Honestly I collect stuff to put it on the shelf but if it is a box like for the the game boy box I open it but save the box so I use the game but keep the box and manual on display
Grammar nazi
Emulators are shite
I got a game boy at a yard sale for 25 cents
what a deal
Doesn't the world make sense anymore!?
I got it in December 1990 from my parents.
Awesome dude!
Pineapple Farm Studios would you sell it for 20 dollars
20 years later and we are still using AA batteries :(
In 100,000,000,000,000,000 years, ProGamer will be dead and will still be stupid
This Guy I know, do you think i have the mind of a toothpick?
This Guy I know, i was just making a joke about him being dead but still stupid
This Guy Yes i know, it's *very* funny.
Oh, the irony and cringe throughout this comment section is fucking terrifying.
I feel you Austin, the nostalgia hit me to big time as soon as you unboxed that gorgeous piece of kit. Damn Ive so manny happy memories of me and that grey slab of plastic, it’s almost overwhelming ❤️
Piece of kit? Cringe.
rumor says austin will reply if your from notification squad
Quite the rumor...
Omg it worked! A wild Austin Evans appeared!

"Yep. It's just the WiFi isn't working".
I'm dead 😂
SO cool. This was my first handheld and it brings back so many memories to see this. I spent so much time playing Tetris and Super Mario Land!
I remember having a light boy. It was an accessory that shaped on the back of your GB and it flipped over your screen and had a transparent piece of plastic with 2 tiny light bulbs on either side that illuminated the screen so you could play it in the dark. How the hell is this in such perfect condition?
Egon Marić because it was inside a pocket pussy for over 20 years
It's closer to 30 years. I don't think fleshlights were a thing back then.

Egon Marić
R/whoosh
Just low use. my boxed one I bought in 2016 is imacculate too, only had to get the vertical lines screen problem fixed
game boy reminds me of my childhood.so sweet!! i was born in Japan in 1989 and was raised with Nintendo.
Feminist will be like why isn't it called a GameGirl
i would get the playboy ;)
I don't think such a big deal will be made
Gaming is stereotypically a patriarchal dominated hobby, and "boy" can also refer to vigor and indulgence.
Erick Maynard limão playboy
Girls can play this, why can‘t it be called Gameboygirl?
That’s neat, I was 10yrs old when my parents got me this for Xmas, I still have it to this very day, I’m just missing the small tab on the game boy that you connect the link wire too. I just wish I could’ve save the box. Good video!
Hi Austin Ekans!
Evans dumb ass
+josef steiner Its a joke,dumbass.
Steiner dumb ass
+Just A Random Guy It was a terrible joke.
There's literally a t-shirt made by Austin saying "Austin Ekans" on it
I’ve still got my game boy advance that I play every now and then. I still love to play the original Pokémon games
Why Austin's video are so-so for me but don't wanna unsubscribe him anyway, magic?
He's changed a lot.
I have found memories of the original Game Boy. It came out in the UK in 1990. A year behind the US and Japan. A truly iconic device.
Can it run pokemon on 4k ultra settings?
le me of course
can also run minesweeper at 60 fps at 64k resolution
take that fancy new technology
It can run at 99999999999999p 9999999999999999fps
Less than 8 bit 60fps.
Yes but it has super ultra mode and it’s hella realistic
The Game Boy I had was also an original. Some of my favorite games were the Final Fantasy games, Metroid, and loads of others. It seems like it had an ac adapter. I also bought a hard shell carry case with foam padded interior for it, plus a lighted magnifier for the screen. I loved it. I must have collected at least 100 games for it. Ultimately, I gave it all to my son.
Where did you get the Gameboy? I also want one
BRO WHY DIDNT YOU LEAVE IT IN THE BOX
Leon Tanis cause he wanted to use it?
I don't think it was actually sealed. It was just kept amazing.
Because that's what you do with products? You open them to use them? Is that something you don't do?
Hurriname He just means because it was in such good condition, and Austin implied it had *never* been opened and left sealed (Which it hadn't). But if it was still sealed, Would you really want to break a 27 year old seal? when you unseal something like that you are making a very rare thing even rare. And don't throw the 'so you can use it. duh' at me because if you want a gameboy to play there are millions of ones that have been unboxed, and plenty are in great condition, with the original packaging, like the one Austin has. TheChromaGamer so you can use it duh
seeing that box just takes me back.
Even Stalin has nostalgia.

3:10 😂 nintendo called
you're so lucky to have the oppurtunity to unbox and have all these wonderful gadgets
Why did all tech made in the 80's and 90's use one colour.
i bet he isn't
well he hasn't said other wise in the past 4 days sooo
they did'nt they used 2 black and white

You should checkout the Sega gamegear from 1990! It was groundbreaking at the time with colour display and some really nice games!
I just bought a gameboy color because it was super cheap but now i'm sometimes just sitting at home playing with my gameboy instead of newer technologies... it just got something really fascinating

I'll bet the smell was great, too.
Seriously, the smell of new Nintendo stuff is great. Very nostalgic.
Where did you buy it???????
probably got it off amazon or ebay
Edward Kenway the black market
Maybe those can be found at Gamestop?
Gamestop will not sell something that is close to 30 years old -_-
Oh man thats one nostalgic video! I had to share my Game Boy with my sister. I dont remember ever seeing the box, and if it did come with the link cable, I never saw that either. The real fucking question is where the fuck you get this?! because I have been looking for one....
Mint condition? Their fucking expensive. Their is no point in getting this unless you are a ocd collector
I understand. but where?
Try ebay or at a retro game store somewhere.
Maybe on Ebay.
Try eBay or a video game store. Check yard sales too. I found the original, pocket, color, advance and advance sp all at yard sales.
Once upon a time video game, simple and efficient. No DLC, no day one patch, game's manual and that's it... I love this console I'd the clear one, amusing hardware, tones of hours playing 😍

gameboy is a legend, an awesome childhood experience
Got one for my bday in 1994 best gift ever!!
I got mine when it was first out and it STILL works. You should play Kirby's Dreamland. That game is so fun and the character is adorable.
The Game Boy featured the "A", "B", "SELECT", and "START" buttons as well as a directional pad (d-pad), which make the controls similar to the popular NES.
I enjoy your video so much !!
The Game Boy was released on this day 30 years ago in Japan. Happy anniversary!!
Original box yes, mint Gameboy no. It has noticeable wear and tear. this video took me back to when I got my original gameboy
in love
with this
It brought tears to my eyes......I want one!!!!!!!
"This game boy has something that even the most latest cutting edge technology doesn't have, a headphone jack"
Feel the burn apple 😂😂😂😂😂
I picked up that exact Gameboy package from a local charity shop for £3. Mint condition. All cables and headphones etc still in packaging.
I have the original game boy and I love it
Do more of these old unboxing!
It would be like destroying a small piece of gaming history.
looking at this, just made me remember the smell of the gameboy. To bad it wasn't really unboxed, but still in pristine shape.
All my friends who wee born in 1998/9 had a Game Boy Advance SP. I loved it too. And oh yes they'd play Pokemon and Dragon BallZ against each other on it using the cable.

Technology is amazing.
I love your shirt Austin. I'm a big fan too.
I have a giant place in my heart for the original GAME BOY as well Austin. 🙂
It's official, I can now say that I'm old lol *day dreaming to the soundtrack of Tetris on the Game Boy*
Well builded "last forever" gadgets, those things will be working for many many years. I seriously doubt my PS4 is going to last 25 years working.
Tom and Jerry was one of my favorite games. My mom gave mine away after I moved out.
Why in the world did you open that it’s so rare to see unopened ones and they are getting harder and harder each day to find because of people like Austin
I still have my working GameBoy. It's pretty solid!
mmm... just that feel... YOU CANT BEAT IT!!!
I want one. Older games were better than today’s game.
Austin would you mind sharing your workout routine?
You have done huge progress!
This is a late comment I know. The fact that you can get the Game Boy and the box in *that* condition is amazing!
Hey man i just bought an original Gameboy today whit Tetris and Super Mario Land, i can't wait to get my hands on it !!
