Glad to see you in my neck of the woods! Was hoping to see you hook up on on of those 200 pound class ones out there or one of those big hammers or bulls. Always a pleasure to see you and Alec SLAYING the Silver Kings. One day Alec will bow! Dope seeing one of my fishing mentors cutting it up next to Gasparilla and Cayo Costa. So many damn boats it looked like the effin... Catalina Wine Mixer! tight Lines buddy!
Close to my neck of the woods! Boca tarpon rush this time of year is unlike any other fishing I’ve ever done. Chaos is exactly how it should be described. There were close to 250 boats out there a couple weeks back - MADNESS! Tight lines 🤙🏼
The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Ryan you're in my neck of the wood's!! I keep my boat at Gasparilla Marina. It's combat fishing for Tarpon in that pass!! I usually steer clear of the chaos. Also remember to Bow to the King 🤴!!
Made that trip 6-8 times over ten years mostly in May. What a workout. Mostly good captains except during the PTTS shows. Can't wait to get back out. Just getting older and the kids are all grown.
Hey man I’m a big fan I live in Panama City beach and pier fish land base fish on the Dailey you should come down here to the pier or a charter I would love to fish with you
I fished Boca Chica Pass once. Tarpon all around and didn't get a single bite. I've fished Anna Maria Island and Tampa bay two years in a row. Both years we were hooked up non stop.
A Mark Sosin reference?! I remember that old curmudgeon. Met him in the Keys once. I'm a Florida man, he was a yank. Never watched him again. Oh and he didn't catch anything the day I saw him coming in and when he saw the blackfin and cobia I was chopping up he got all huffy 😂. Anyway, cool video. Boca Grande was insane when I was there and I never landed a tarpon but it was fun to see fishin' anarchy.
I went free diving several hundred meters off of the boca grande pass this morning. Went diving far from the shore there many many times. Never seen a shark. A lot of manatees though.
Damn Ryan wish I knew you where in my neck of the woods! I’ve been out hitting boca pass several times in the last 2 weeks with no hook ups. It’s a tough fishery for sure!
Ryan Morie. I am usually a Good Luck charm for fishermen that fish with me! Lol.. just I myself don't normally do well then... lol but They Definitely do..
They take the claws off otherwise the crabs will kill each other pass crabs are ruthless against each other they will rip each other's arms off until there is only one crab with claws 😆🤣
It’s quite a spectacle. I hope the fish don’t get tired of the pressure and being shark bait and stop using the pass. Then that whole section of coast will have less fish hanging around. It happened in Homassassa. I prefer to run down the beach and look for smaller numbers. It’s too much pressure in there. You got googans running right up on the rollers, the guides think they own it, and 100’s of boats. They should probably limit the season or close down fishing in the pass for a while to make sure it stays the way it is. Awesome video though
Over population of fishermen and high tech has devastated the fish stocks in Florida. Catch and release fish is about the only thing left. Sharks take what’s left
I'm from Boca and I won't fish the pass during the day. It's to packed and the people are rude and ignorant. I prefer the beaches if I fish in the day.
Studies say around 40% of fish usually die after being caught and fighting especially the way tarpon do some fishermen do take the time to revive the fish so it can swim off but a lot of the times the fish die from to much lactic acid build up then they become food

@@gameaholicsanonymous775 cute, you still have never fished for tarpon in the midst of bulls and hammer heads... using caps to embarrass yourself further only reinforces the point...
Epic day with the boys! I was super stoked to check this fishery off my bucket-list 🤙🏼
Sick video 🔥

❤❤❤❤❤
What rods are you using? They looked stout, but pretty long as well. I don't have a dedicated "Tarpon rod"
Outstanding video Ryan. It has been 30 years since I fished the Pass. Great memories.
Ditto I spend my time now catching Crappie in my old age lol.

I love about 10 minutes away. Nothing beats boca tarpon fishing, bite is going crazy right now!
It was crazy on that evening moon
One of the best videos I have seen showing off the great tarpon fishing in Boca grande
Ryan you're in my neck of the wood's!! I keep my boat at Gasparilla Marina. It's combat fishing for Tarpon in that pass!! I usually steer clear of the chaos. Also remember to Bow to the King 🤴!!
Bro it was straight up chaos lol
I’ve never been able to stay hooked up on big tarpon for more than several seconds but tarpon are absolutely my favorite inshore fish.
This video is a lot of fun to watch 🔥! Ryan, your content keeps getting better. Stay safe out there brother!
The best fishing of my life took place at Boca Grande!
Made that trip 6-8 times over ten years mostly in May. What a workout. Mostly good captains except during the PTTS shows. Can't wait to get back out. Just getting older and the kids are all grown.
Come on people, 23,490 views and less then 660 likes! This is the kind of fishing content people dream of, show the guy some love.
So blessed to say I live 15 minutes away from fishing this island
I fished Ft Myers back in the 80’s. The beaches just southeast of Boca Grande 6-12’ of water holds tarpon too. Less pressure.
Was just in the pass last weekend. Best experience of my life, can't wait to go back!! Great video bro keep it up!
Hey man I’m a big fan I live in Panama City beach and pier fish land base fish on the Dailey you should come down here to the pier or a charter I would love to fish with you
i agree
I’d love to get back to the panhandle one day! Caught a 47lb cobia off Navarre back in 2014 🤙🏼
No lie
Awesome video of it. It's why I live here. But i stay away from that pass,I drove by the other day on the full moon and there had to be 300 boats.
Dude I couldn’t imagine a weekend
one of the best fishing videos I have seen in a minute

What size hook and set up? Where do you get crabs if you don’t see any in the water? I’m headed there in a couple weeks
I passed boca grande in a 42 yellowfin that day, went out for red snapper, and passing that pass, there was maddd boats, you were probably there

Idk if he’s still around but I watched my fair share of him in TV back in the day! 🤣
@@RyanMorie he would be quite old now. He must have been in his 60s when I ran into him a couple times that week, about 25 years ago.
@@RyanMorie I checked and apparently he's 88 and living in Boca Raton
Wow, time flies lol
"Until I see where its hooked I'm not given it the sauce!" 🤣
If you ever get over to Miami, I have an interesting and fun way of going for tarpon at night. A lot less boat traffic, too! Cool video.
I went free diving several hundred meters off of the boca grande pass this morning. Went diving far from the shore there many many times. Never seen a shark. A lot of manatees though.

When I lived in Costa Rica... 14 tarpon in 2 days and only boat in the water! 80-120#
Wind knot part got me 😂😂😂😂😂
It makes sense why the tarpon won't eat, specially if there's 30 plus boats fishing for the same fish lol
Not 30 boats, there is 100+ scattered usally. The pass is no fun at all.
There's literally 1000s of tarpon for hundreds of fisherman and they was biting really good if you watch the whole video
Phew I have to make flight plans....Fish on
Ryan Morie. I am usually a Good Luck charm for fishermen that fish with me! Lol.. just I myself don't normally do well then... lol but They Definitely do..
Probably the ultimate light tackle game fish! Thanks for sharing.
im throwing a live greenie into that, no way i resist
New from the thumbnail it was boca. Was just out there fishing this past weekend. And alot of boats out there
Hey Ryan where you buy crabs that small or do you guys catch them your self
I was just there last week it was amazing to see
What camera do you use?
nice video thanks for sharing👍👍
congrats man. fun stuff!
anyone know what time of year does this tarpon thing goes on?
I like ya taste of music braddah man 🤙🏽🤙🏽

🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Congrats on 40k Ryan!
Thank you! On to 50k 👀👀👀
nice fishing
could tell me please What fishing rod brand you use in this video?
Wonderful footage, if you are not casting why aren't you using 5' jigging rods. Much easier on the angler
What reels and rods are you guys using
We get tarpon on stickbaits need try them next time
Helo..helo dude... i am from indonesia waching your video nice fishing i suport you 🛎👈
What rod you using on the video?
Tarpon fishing is a rip, but there’s no way I could fish with all those boats piled up.
Fun video- i would be worried about keeping that fish in the water and getting sharked while holding him
Sometimes you gotta risk it! 🤣
why are they getting a gulp of air?
What size reels where you guys using?
10k-14k
Lol em crabs have no claws i was wondering why u put hand in there with confidence i used to work on shrimp boats and i say ouch cuz it is ouch lol
They take the claws off otherwise the crabs will kill each other pass crabs are ruthless against each other they will rip each other's arms off until there is only one crab with claws 😆🤣
Would love to see someone dive in the pass with a GoPro, Does anyone know if it has ever been done before?
They’d definitely get hooked lol
Best thing to happen to Boca was seeing the PTTS get shut down..
Purple shiny lures are king.....troll up and down pass... money.
Will my inflatable boat make it out there hehe jk nice catch thanks for video
Sick!
Thanks for watching 🍻
“Grand” 😂😂
if you’re anywhere near boca grande, you will most definitely hear it pronounced “grand”

Honestly it can’t be as bad as it used to be during the PTTS days
Exactly Ryan 💯
Like the music, Dirty Heads
1000 people in the pass tomorrow thanks 😊
Rod tip up and the fish doesn’t come off so easy lol
i was just there 2 days ago
Saragosa or that Diawa?
Over population of fishermen and high tech has devastated the fish stocks in Florida. Catch and release fish is about the only thing left. Sharks take what’s left
WTF YOU WERE IN BOCA????? Shit man I missed out you were in my backyard
I was lucky enough and caught a 200+ pounder. The fight gets a little old after about 10 min.nice fish though.
How come no one eats these fish?
For some reason when I go fishing I can’t listen to music lol. I’m too focused
Ahh Boca grande. Only place I stay away. Full of googans there.
Хорошая рыба👍🏿
budget list

I like to go over to those docks and throw down a big bait by those big containers and catch big Goliath.
Do the fish ever die when releasing?
I have never had or heard of a tarpon dying after release. Getting sharked yes
@@NFNADVENTURE how do you know? Fingers in the gills aren't good, and getting sharked is pretty fatal

terrible day to be a crab
Are you military ?
My nipples chafe easily would you recommend the bamboo shirt ?
wtf kind of tackle can handle a fish like that??? 1000lbs mono??
They had 50lb braid with 200lb fluorocarbon leader and 6 or 7 ot hooks
🤙😎
thats over fishing too many pepole going after these game fish !

looks like NY/NJ on a normal spring day for stripers..combat fishing at its finest
Haha there were almost as many boats when I was NJ on day 3.
Big snook

Just switch to shark gear
Why not throw a spook
🇮🇩🎣🎣
lets try to horse it and wench the fish to the boat....loses first fish of the day....., no docks around, nothing for it to run to cover.....let it burn some dragg and play him in.... rookies....
Lots of big sharks following the school in this area and when you whoop a fish you release it healthier than a long fight
...you've clearly never fished the pass...rookie...
