Claim your "I played the TTYD remake when there was a Pedal Meadows" badge here
👇
I genuinely did not realise it said Pedal Meadows.
Here
Alot of small stuff my brain just auto corrected without noticing it
i may be stupid, dint realize it was a typo
I did
still no update to skip dialogues any time or see previous dialogues with Z button 😔
I really hope they add that in a future update
Seriously?? That's literally the only reason I wanted this game updated ugh
@@Glitchyy07doubt
@@da_real_bupOh yeah, I love playing a game and ignoring the storu,,
@@cryodual most people that have played before might not want to read it again you little
the koopa troopa battle thing is probably referring to how, if happy heart activated after the audience object tutorial, the battle UI would never pop up, resulting in mario and the enemies standing there forever
Happend to me, took a little to figure that out
I can't help but find it funny that Miss Mouz finally found some potential to be useful, only for them to patch it out.
There was a glitch where if you never upgraded FP you couldn't practice moves with the Battle Master that required more than 5 fp despite it costing 0 FP in practice mode
I'm honestly surprised they're actually updating/patching this game. There are actually a few minor things I wish they'd tweak, like how you're unable to speed through certain dialogue boxes for some reason. Maybe they'll actually add more polish and QOL improvements in addition to removing bugs and glitches?
I think they also did this with Origami King (as there was a game-breaking glitch at launch) so I think this might be an Intelligent Systems thing to update single-player games and patch out bugs like this. But I’d love to see them make small tweaks and improvements as well.
I really hope they make an update that lets you skip all dialog, instead of just the dialog you've already seen in that playthrough.
I love the dialog, but on repeat playthroughs or challenge runs it's just so slooow...
I actually remember the overworld music playing alongside the battle music on one occasion.
likely in the palace of shadow
In the Palace of Shadow the overworld music still plays during battles, which I believe was an artistic choice (or at the very least a choice I really liked) assuming it's not a glitch.
I wish they fixed the special moves needing the star power meter to be full before the menu is opened to work. Feels so clunky when you have to reload the menu when you can obviously use it
pew...as long as they dint fix Badge duplication, that one is just too much fun
They probably didn't fix it, because they respected the grind of players doing it lol, it is so hard to do!
@@ConfidentNHandsomehonestly some bugs aren't worth patching due to how hard it is to execute. It's like ACE in a speed run. Super hyper specific edge cases used to further your run.
@@akionlizard Still not as hard and tedious as PM64 badge duping.
@@2DCheese exactly my point! Why fix something that's hard in the first place?
This 1st update gives me hope that they could update it again to fix more glaring issues like star power animation taking too long and the scroll speed of battle menu actions, also how when you level up it restores HP FP and Star power one at a time instead of all at once. Really they should try to increase the overall speed of animations in the game, also to increase text speed with a press of the B button like in the original.
The menu in general is slow
@@geschnitztekiste411130fps is slow
@@therealjaystone2344 More choppy, not slow. Framerate only affects game speed when over or underclocking it.
There was a glitch I caught on a friend's stream where he defeated Gloomtail, obtained the star key and blew up the secret wall behind him. However, instead of going into the wall immediately, he went all the way back to the Palace of Shadow's Courtyard to heal (he thought the secret wall lead to progression but committed to going back to heal). When he went back to Gloomtail's lair, the wall was supposedly patched up. He tried blowing up the wall but nothing happened so he simply walked into the wall to get the secret items while the wall was still visible. Not a crazy glitch but I was wondering if anyone else had caught this one
The only functionality you don't have with GameCube controller is hints, not a necessity by any means for us veterans and works well otherwise
I wish they couldve fixed some other stuff like the input lag during menus, and the text speed
But for the people who didn't grow up with TTYD and put hundreds of hours in as a child but still want an authentic GameCube experience, not having hints is still unfortunately. And even as someone who did play this game as a kid.. I had to switch controllers to pop up a hint in chapter 4 when suddenly there was a push able rock blocking my black key (yes I felt really stupid but I'd tried everything else before that; hammering, flurrie, koops) but yeah most people aren't gonna need the hints it's still a nice thing they added and it's new dialogue you can't access if you're playing with a GCC
@@justaregulardude3195 ....? hints did not exist in the original game, lol. why would an authentic gamecube experience include using hints? what????
@@MusicJunkie37 you also can't do stampede because that uses ZL.
@@phictionofgrandeur2387 wrong, ZL and L function the same in battle
Why do companies patch speedrunning tricks? It makes people literally not want to update the game.
They tried so hard to not make Metroid a speed running genre and failed lol
Why do companies make their games less broken? Gee I wonder why
Some could be encountered by accident leading to problems
@@renakunisaki Exactly! And from what was said in the video, it sounds like the Ms. Mowz one could potentially cause more serious glitches if you used it in the wrong place or at the wrong time. I can definitely see why they'd fix that.
@@SuperSimmerGal the question is how difficult is it for a normal player to encounter these glitches. i don't know how to difficult it is to trigger ms mowz text storage, but if it is something that a normal player would never trigger, then i don't see why it should be patched, even if it could cause more serious glitches.
Actual speedrunner of the remake here with the current WR in any% and 100%. they fixed the blue key early and mowz text storage/timestop in this update.
Did they fix the Sun layering at Riverside Station?
I think that might’ve been an intentional design decision as weird as it looks.
The most suprising thing is that they Updated a SINGLE PLAYER game
Nintendo usually never touch games that don't have online support after a release. Especially after its been out for more than a month
(About the actual bugs i never encountered any)
This isn't unheard of. They did something similar with Mario Wonder and even Origami King, so I'm not too surprised.
even games like mario and luigi dream team had 1.1 patches
@@VMan776wonder Is kinda co op
@@VMan776I mean to be fair in Origami Kings case it made sense. There was one glitch that made it impossible to beat the game and another that made the game impossible to 100%. Both of these glitches have been fixed in the update foruntaley.
TotK had a lot of bug fixes
1:00 Let me stop you right there. There IS full GC Controller Support. All you lose is Partner Hint on ZL, right? Ground Pound, Gulp & Stampede still work with L & R just like in the GameCube Version, you do *NOT* need to mash ZR & ZL to use Stampede or Ground Pound. You can use all partner Abilities & Paper Abilities, never once are ZL or Minus required. Plus, doesn't Minus work just like Plus? They are the Start Button. All Battle Commands work properly with & without the GC Controller. Trust me, I played Chapters 1 & 2 fully without the GC Controller, then I switched to GC as soon as I got Yoshi to test out his Shoulder Button attacks and they work with L & R. You can also use the Z Button for Gulp. L & R register as ZL & ZR inputs in battles, ergo- all attacks & field actions work just fine. Did no one test it? I played the rest of Chapter 3 & entireties of Chapters 4-8 with a GC controller without issue. Besides Partner Hint, which is new, what else can you NOT do with a GC Controller? Again, All attacks that use ZR & ZL work as intended in TTYD version 1.0.0 by mashing L & R or holding Z. This is a GC Game, well a remake of one to be precise.
Edit: I just remembered that the new Partner Wheel is on L, by the way and it works, but, wasn't in the original TTYD either.
Edit 2: Also excluding the Screenshots & Home Buttons. But, that hardly counts.
did they fix that there was no item sound when bowser made fun about getting the bowser jewel?
I've had weird music behavior too, in riverside station the GC music badge is completely ignored outside of battle in most areas, so instead of playing the original gamecube tune in the outside area with the sun or the ambient noises in the station it just plays the remakes version.
even though upon first entering riverside the whole place was quiet for me, not sure if that was intended cause it did play sound on every visit after that.
That's intended
I'm guessing the badge thing was intentional, as the GC version of Riverside Station didn't have any music, just ambient sounds (and the badge seems to be mainly for music).
When I was playing this game I wanted to turn the rumble off. I turned it off in the options but when I mashed the A button it still had the rumble and now I can't turn it off.
I haven’t noticed anyone saying this but I believe that patched a bug that stops the second boss in the pit from spawning if you beat the game before getting the required action done
Does anyone know what's going on with veil? Everytime I use it I get one of two results
Result A: It works as I expected and mills Vivian's next turn allowing mario to still act after they return from hiding
Result B: it completely mills my next turn leading me to take unnecessary extra damage for no discernable reason
This is an issue I've been having and had been driving my up the wall to the point I don't even use Vivian because her main draw has nearly gotten me killed multiple countable times
My game auto-updated...
Same. Fucking bullshit.
Me too
F
I can say I’m a remake OG now lol
does anyone know if the right stick works for this game? the controls menu in the pause screen says it’s for “text scroll” but it never worked for me.
For text scroll on descriptions of items, badges, etc
@@da_real_bup ohhhh i thought it meant the other type of text scroll, in the original you would roll back text incase you missed something. mb lol im dumb
Yup. This confused me, too.
When i did my full playthrough of the remake i didn't close my game for the entire week so i could just pick up and play whenever I'd have time between work and sleeping, and i DID get the no status effects bug, it was extremely annoying and i didn't know the cause, i had no idea why my statuses wouldn't show up but in gameplay i saw others playing and it did show up for them
I think the update changed the way the "BINGO !" text appears
it used to go *ding* when the space between the "O" and the "!" "fell into place"
Still no power bounce fix. I'm beginning to think it's intentionally bugged.
I think the Power Bounce was intentionally nerfed
Sadge. At least we have kappy's video. @@Reecee
Hi@@Reecee
@@Reecee yup
Power bounce removed any semblance of challenge. A tighter window seems fair to me
Good thing that I just bought the game yesterday, not gonna update it now.
That's some crazy timing lol
Hope you enjoy it!
It’s not like you are gonna speedrun anyways
@@therealjaystone2344 but glitches are fun
We live to duplicate badges another day
Duplicate badges? How?
@@stripedrajang3571 there's a relatively simple exploit where you can duplicate badges by triggering a badge failsafe, but it's a bit of a grind and definitely a postgame ordeal. You need to get as many badges as you can carry (which is 200) and find another badge in the overworld afterwards, then every badge you drop will appear in the Lovely Houz of Badges, even if you pick the badge you dropped back up (though there can only be three copies of each badge in stock). The biggest hurdle to pulling this off is actually getting that many badges and then getting the money to buy the duped badges, but you can grind for cheap badges fairly easily in the Pianta Parlor and there are tons of ways to grind for coins in the postgame.
@@stripedrajang3571First, collect 200 Badges (that's the max limit you can hold). Next, collect another Badge from a Block or an Enemy. The game will then tell you to toss a Badge, so toss the Badge you want to duplicate, recollect it, and then toss a Badge you don't want. Finally, go to the Badge Shop and the Badge you wanted to duplicate will be available for purchase. There you go, Badge Duplication (you can duplicate up to 3 Badges before needing to find another Badge from a Block or Enemy, because the Shop can only hold up to 3 duplicated Badges at a time).
@@stripedrajang3571If you have 200 badges and throw one badge what you want, you can duplicate it.
@@stripedrajang3571 theres a few videos on how too but it aint easy you would need the max 200 badges then get a badge from a enemy drop (miss mouse is actually useful for this since it can give the badge 100% because your inv is full) or something the video can explain more
So, sintesizing this, it will be useful to update the game only if they add a DLC .
What does sintesizing mean?
Did they fix the bugged targeting? I've noticed that sometimes the game likes to randomly get stuck on a target regardless of their immunities (ex Goomba, Spiky Goomba, ParaGoomba sometimes has it stuck on the regular Goomba).
Not a bug, hammer can only target the first enemy
Has anyone confirmed whether or not badge duping was patched yet?
It still works
2:37 That’s not exactly true. There’s a box in Creepy Steeple that you can break to reveal a pipe. That pipe leads to a house in the town, which is *before* that tree.
You need to use tube mode again to access the front door of the Creepy Steeple. Not to mention you can't even get to the block until you get Vivian and get to the parrot room which is blocked entirely by a tube mode only pathway. So unless some speedrunners found a way to overcome both of those, it still is essentially a softlock
Yo what if we get DLC, that would be crazy right?
...right?
Edit: typo
what was the typo
@@carnage0685 ngl don't even remember, it was an immediate edit though. Probably like I misspelled "that" as "thag" or something like that. Nothing too major
Did they fix early blue key in The Great Tree?
Edit: Thanks nintendo
Thanks for what?
@@KingdomHeartsFan-mu9cf not fixing it.
I still don't know what I'm doing wrong, because I've never gotten it to work. Haven't updated.
They didn't change the year on the title screen to 2024. It still has the year 2004.
There never gonna change that cause that's when the original game came out, so nothing there to be fixed
@@toypikachutheoctoling6029they should probably change it to 2004-2024
@@BlueToadCentral It's not worth changing that, lol. It's the most nitpicky thing in a video game that I've ever heard a person complain about. There are a few other issues they didn't fix that are infinitely more important.
I don’t think they’re gonna change that as it was likely intentional but I do find it weird that it doesn’t say “2004-2024”

Did they patch the duplication glitch?
Nope
I just want a chapter 1 battle theme badge 😭
My favorite remastered track and you barely get to hear it
There's a sound test menu for a reason
@@potatoe972Your reply reads like you're saying this is a solution.
Listening to music standalone is not the same thing as in actual gameplay.
Mhm. I want the upbeat music on my trips down the pit but I have to use the old music for that.
Mouz Buff?
Still no power bounce fix 😢😢
Its a nerf not a bug
@@Skullemoji-qi9qh It's a bug, the frame window goes back up after the 4th hit.
Good video
I'm somewhat surprised they didn't do anything to the "danger Mario" exploit (i know, it's not a glitch) where you can buy as many power rush badges you like at the casino for 150 pianta tokens each and downgrade marios health to 5 to get them working to deal masive damage. Hell, this was even in the original game and it's still present in the remake.
Also, i never knew about this until a few days later after the game released.
That's not a glitch
That's not a glitch haha, it's fully intentional
Why would they remove a normally functioning feature of the game? If you take the time to grind out those badges, that’s your reward.
@@GreatGonzalez know it's not a glitch.
@@imjustalittleqwerty I'll admit Danger Mario is kind of fun and hilarious.

I love it but God demotivation sucks
I KNEW IT.
Text speed was fixed?
I've said this before in another place, but here are some things I might like to see in a future patch (or maybe even a mod, if I'd be willing to find an emulator or risk my Switch jalbreaking it?):
For settings in brackets: Asterisk* marks a Default setting.
-Music Volume: [0----50*----100]
-Voice Volume: [0----50*----100]
-SFX Volume: [0----50*----100]
-Nostalgic Tunes: Switches between new and original music; replaces Nostalgic Tunes badge.
[New*/Original]
-Text Auto-Advance: Text advances automatically several seconds after it finishes generating. Toggled by pressing Y during a scene.
--Text speed: Changes text generation speed and advancement delay. [Slow/Normal*/Fast]
--Maintain Auto-Advance: Auto-enables Auto-Advance at every opportunity. [Off*/On]
-Text Rewind Restoration: Re-adds the option to view past text within a scene by pressing X.
-Fast Forward: Speeds up text generation and advancement as quickly as possible, auto-advances text, and speeds up all character animations to match the hyperspeed text. Toggled by pressing + during a scene.
--Maintain Fast Forward: Auto-enables Fast Forward at every opportunity. [Off*/On]
-Menu Sensitivity: Adjust cursor movement speed in menus everywhere. [Slow/Normal*/Fast]
Optionally, some additional gamemodes based on fan challenges from the GCN version:
-Double Trouble: Double enemy attack. Double enemy HP. Double Pain. (Unlocked by beating the game once)
-Peril Panic: 1 HP and a dream. (Unlocked by beating the game once)
-Level One: Low Level Lunacy. (Unlocked by 100% completing the game once; must be chosen at start and is locked for whole playthrough)
-Impossible: 7 Crystal Stars. 0 advantages. 3% chance of victory is a generous estimate...
(Unlocked by clearing Level One once once; must be chosen at start and is locked for whole playthrough)
Level One details:
-Enemies never give Star Points.
--Tutorial is amended to remove reference to this mechanic.
-Shine Sprites on the field are invisible and uncollidable, effectively removing them.
-(Optional bonus): All Journal data (including the Tattle log) is fully unlocked at the start.
-Bonus points for never equipping badges that cost BP.
Impossible details:
-Mario's level is set to 0 and enemies never give Star Points.
--Tutorial is amended to remove reference to this mechanic.
--Max BP is set to 0 instead of 3
---Attack FX G is moved to Boggly Woods.
-Normal battles only drop 1 coin each, and Clear Bonuses only give 20% as much money.
-Shine Sprites on the field are invisible and uncollidable, effectively removing them.
-Inventory space is set to 0.
--The Strange Sack instead holds a unique secret; whatever is inside permanently improves Superguards (timing starts slightly sooner for every attack, and attacks that couldn't be countered this way before are now Superguardable).
-Star Power is permanently set to 0.
-Heart blocks are all invisible and uncollidable.
--The only way to recover HP and FP is to sleep.
-The in-battle Swap Partner command is disabled.
-Merlee's charms all cost 1,000x as many coins.
-Guard timing is universally set to 0 frames. (Superguards are unchanged, outside of the altered Strange Sack)
-Game Over automatically kicks you to the title screen.
Impossible progression concessions:
-After defeating Gus at any point prior, talking to Ishnail in the Chapter 2-3 intermission allows him to tell Mario a secret code directly. Talking to Peeka in Westside Goods after this will directly trigger her questions without buying anything from the shop.
-Both Iron Clefts now have only 4 HP each, but their battle dialogue occurs as normal.
-Pit enemies drop more Hearts and Flowers to compensate for the lack of level-up heals,
-(Optional bonus): All Journal data (including the Tattle log) is fully unlocked at the start.
The bonus difficulties wouldn't get added
Also impossible difficulty just removes all the fun from the game
I already completed the game 100%, so no need to update the game lol
Wow
The fact a GameCube remake doesn’t support the controller is fucking absurd.
Jeez, I know it kinda sucks but it’s not the end of the world
Edit: The GameCube controller works what are you on about
It doesn't? Bringle used it in his playthrough, the buttons just don't show up as gc buttons
I've literally been using my Smash 4 Wii U adapter every time I play, wtf are you talking about?
I don’t know if it’s a bug or intentional, but it feels very weird, that instead of the Chapter 1 Battle Theme, it’s the Chapter 8 Battle Theme playing in Hooktail Castle
There is no chapter 8 battle theme, there is only one section where there are two chain chomps that plays the "Dangerous place" battle theme that also plays in hooktail castle. For the rest of chapter 8 battles don't have a specific music
that’s not the chapter 8 battle theme, it’s the general “dungeon” battle theme, it also plays in the poshly sanctum, and pit of 100 trials
Classic Nintendo only fixing the fun bugs
I know this won’t happen but I would like to see them update the game to make it more optimized for 60fps.
Honestly, I think having multiple performance settings would be a great solution to this, I wish Nintendo did that more often.
Save it for switch 2 hardware to play it backwards compatible
Dude, respectfully, this video could be less than half its length. You need to work on properly paraphrasing and explaining the topic. You ramble, pause, and don’t get to the point quickly enough.
Man, for a platform where people only waste their time, people seem to complain alot about their time being wasted
@@da_real_bup The internet is also a place to exchange ideas. I’m respectfully telling this person how he can share information in a more concise and time-friendly manner.
For real, I had to put it in double speed
If it were exactly 8 minutes and 1 second I'd understand but it's way longer so it's not even that they're stalling time to get midrolls, they just need a better script (or any script)
The thing is, this video isn’t JUST meant to be a quick read of the change log, I’m trying to provide more context and information that isn’t noticeable on the surface or changes that Nintendo didn’t specify. But this is my first time covering a “bug fix” update in detail so I understand that I don’t directly get to the point in some places so I’ll take your feedback into consideration.
@@Reecee My feedback is the opposite. Make them longer so I get more content! Please and thank you.
My issue is changed dialogue from the original and I do not want to here it more accurately translated no it is not.
why? it barely changes the game
if you're mad at the text, be mad that it goes like half as fast as the gamecube version
And the changed dialogue is an issue why?
Cry about it
hmmm.. are you transphobic perhaps? do we need the beldam speech bubble image here?
@BrianGeller I get it, a lot of TTYD Purists will call you out but I totally get it. The 30 FPS and changed dialogue is why I DIDN'T buy this game, I'll stick to the superior gamecube 60 fps version on my Steam Deck. I mean Nintendo could've made an extra option to have either accurate translation or the original US translation but as we all know, Nintendo isn't smart enough or caring enough to do that.
This remake while it looks nice, is nothing but a cash grab. It wasn't done passionately, it was done for the sole purpose of milking the paper mario fanbase.
Alas, it's fun for you, creator of Beldam Postin
