Have they updated that route for their new application for BIT yet? I'm pretty sure that it would allow them to skip somthing somewhere, and even if it don't, it would still speed up parts of the game. After all, setting an assortment of flags on any map with a statue you can save at has to have SOME use in avoiding an item somewhere, although if it helps with any items that aren't already skipped in Low%, I don't know.
Are you sure you're not getting low% runs mixed up? Last I heard, the SS low% was only 9 hours long and the stupid trick was one that basically requires doing most of an any% run before performing a glitch to open a door in another save file without giving said save file any items, and then going through pretty much the entire game again. Oh, and I also know that the about 36 hour TP low% run uses a pair of stupid slow clips to get past walls without items.
it's around 7 minutes shorter then watch for rolling rocks commentated + enter the secret aquarium commentated combined, but longer then enter the secret aquarium by around 17 minutes. interesting.
@@PTp1ranha I don't think it breaks the Mushroom Kingdom's economy that badly, since (iirc) you can cook 1 coin Mysteries into any recipe in the game and sell those for guaranteed profit (even if you get Mistakes, since there's the one Goomba in Bowser's Castle who'll buy Mistakes for 25 coins a pop-- iirc).
you have a really nice voice. i like hearing them too but it was weird hearing someone else talk about paper mario and it kind of highlighted how good your voice sounds
I think the most interesting thing this glitch reveals is just how much this game treats badges, key items, and normal items as all the same class of object. The badge menu is just a different type of inventory, but it's probably structured very similarly to how the other inventories are under the hood. That the consumables and key items inventories can so easily accept each other and badges without the game instantly crashing impliees that on the back-end there must be something like a generic class 'item' that badges are a member of, flagged to go into the badge inventory instead of the regular one, but with similar code for what to do when the proper inventory is full as other items, even if the programmers never intended that code to execute on badges, having made the inventory larger than the number of badges possible to collect. The fact that it doesn't do anything, and the game just effectively shrugs and says 'yeah, this is normal, go sell your overflow badge, I can handle it' is way more intriguing and illuminating about the programming of the game than if it actually had crashed the game.
Here's something interesting. I managed to duplicate the quake hammer once. I have no idea how, but I managed to get it before i was even able to pick it up
