Why don’t just position the vertical cylinder in top dead center instead? It is much easier to position the tool on the horizontal cylinder before taking out the belt, and you could even avoid using the tool altogether and reposition the cams after you changed the vertical belt... just curious...?

Careful with the ones on eBay, they are known to not fit. The one I got did not.
Made a version 3 and fine tuned it's positioning by 2 degrees. Not necessary, just being OCD.
