How neutral are you when looking at your problems?

    • @MindNow

Not too neutral because the ego gets in the way...

    • @kleckerklotz9620

I try to not think in terms of problems, but instead of situations. I try to ask myself what are the motivations of my counterparts. What did they experience? When they behave badly, I almost immediately think that they must have had a bad history. I can't know who I'm reminding them of. So they don't treat me well. I try not to take it personally. I am not wrong. And they are neither. It's a situation. And nothing more. It's the same if they think poorly of themselves. I feel honestly sorry for them, if they behave badly. And I try to help if I can.
I see situations like chemistry. If you mix certain chemicals, you get an explosion. If you mix others, you get a tasty juice. Nobody can be the superchemical, which is able to always produce juice. That's just impossible. But you can learn to forgive at least the explosions you experienced and value the juice instead. And if you encounter a possible explosion you can limit the damage.
In any case, it's a difficult path. But hey, that's life.

@@kleckerklotz9620 haha, I love the last sentence “that’s life”.
U know, I was just journaling just now (yeah, at work journaling...not really the most productive thing to do is it? 😅 but oh well, here I am doing It anyway) and i said _seriously, what am I doing here? I feel like I'm always satisfying others and not myself...then again, I'm asking myself that maybe this is what I have to go through. This is the way how it's supposed to be. Shit...I have to be patient or learn patience and that's why I'm still here doing this because I think this is what life is. This is how life is supposed to be. Ups and downs_
This might hv nothing to do with what u said previously, but the last sentence “that’s life” just spoke to me 😄🙏❤️

By adopting the practise and teaching of Buddhism to bridge the mental health. What attracts me is Ven Nick wordings. If I listen carefully and be still, the words he use are often mindful and non violent. Importantly, Ven Nick come across to me as a person. Real and open book.

An exception is the recycling failure problem. The individual is doing their duty. After it moves out of our residence is where failure after failure occurs until it ends up in piles in China or in the ocean. Decades of propaganda by big Petrol has successfully shifted the blame from themselves with regard to plastic recycling to the individual.

I have watched this video and listened to your speech several times now. The picture you are drawing with the broken car is very wise and hits the point. What I have had to learn - and to accept! - was that very first step which I had always missed or rather did not know that it was crucial: To step back and let it cool down first before you start to take apart, to examine, to clean, to replace, to reinstall, to fix. This first step to let everything cool down is not a waste of time...it is investing time wisely to make all next steps possible. How many times have I only been burnt and made things worse because I was so eager and stressed to get things fixed somehow, quickly, without a plan, just in a rush and in a state of grief or shock or anger or despair. Which only caused more stress, confusion and suffering. Your videos are very precious and helpful. THANK YOU 🙏 Best wishes to Thailand from Germany

I want to tell you that I have watched your videos off and on from the start and can see how much more peace you have now and I am truly so happy for you. Your video brought me to tears because I am not in the best place in my life right now and hearing you speak brought me peace and hope that I haven't had in a long time. Thank you so much I just subscribed, because I don't know how to become a Buddhist monk.

Venerable Nick: ive been listening to your videos daily for months and they have been a great resource and inspiration to me. i find you to be a great teacher and orator. your message is approachable, relatable, clear and concise. the way you tie into mental health is wonderful. i have just started reading on buddhism and am reading carefully "The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching" by Thich Nhat Hanh. As i apply concepts to my life seriously i am finding buddhism to be a spiritual path that clicks with me. almost like, finally this is what settles with my soul. i want to convey this joy to my friends and loved ones, but i feel as though i am a newborn to it and not experienced, so i often refer them to your videos since they are much of why i started this path. thank you ❤

Thank You for your teaching! Could you please elaborate on greed, anger, and delusion that cause suffering next time you release a new video? Your teaching is so relatable and so easy to understand and follow. To be free from suffering is the ultimate life goal. Please teach us how to exclude greed, anger, and delusion from our lives.

Thank you for your insight on this! The concept of neutrality as the approach to define problems really struck me in a way that it never did before.
I also learned from this video that the essence of meditation is more of neutral observation of the present moment and the thoughts that come along with it, and not necessarily thought blocking. I haven't seen it this way before until this video. Thank you!
