I try to not think in terms of problems, but instead of situations. I try to ask myself what are the motivations of my counterparts. What did they experience? When they behave badly, I almost immediately think that they must have had a bad history. I can't know who I'm reminding them of. So they don't treat me well. I try not to take it personally. I am not wrong. And they are neither. It's a situation. And nothing more. It's the same if they think poorly of themselves. I feel honestly sorry for them, if they behave badly. And I try to help if I can. I see situations like chemistry. If you mix certain chemicals, you get an explosion. If you mix others, you get a tasty juice. Nobody can be the superchemical, which is able to always produce juice. That's just impossible. But you can learn to forgive at least the explosions you experienced and value the juice instead. And if you encounter a possible explosion you can limit the damage. In any case, it's a difficult path. But hey, that's life.

An exception is the recycling failure problem. The individual is doing their duty. After it moves out of our residence is where failure after failure occurs until it ends up in piles in China or in the ocean. Decades of propaganda by big Petrol has successfully shifted the blame from themselves with regard to plastic recycling to the individual.

Thank you so much I just subscribed, because I don't know how to become a Buddhist monk.
Venerable Nick: ive been listening to your videos daily for months and they have been a great resource and inspiration to me. i find you to be a great teacher and orator. your message is approachable, relatable, clear and concise. the way you tie into mental health is wonderful. i have just started reading on buddhism and am reading carefully "The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching" by Thich Nhat Hanh. As i apply concepts to my life seriously i am finding buddhism to be a spiritual path that clicks with me. almost like, finally this is what settles with my soul. i want to convey this joy to my friends and loved ones, but i feel as though i am a newborn to it and not experienced, so i often refer them to your videos since they are much of why i started this path. thank you ❤
Thank You for your teaching! Could you please elaborate on greed, anger, and delusion that cause suffering next time you release a new video? Your teaching is so relatable and so easy to understand and follow. To be free from suffering is the ultimate life goal. Please teach us how to exclude greed, anger, and delusion from our lives.
Thank you for your insight on this! The concept of neutrality as the approach to define problems really struck me in a way that it never did before. I also learned from this video that the essence of meditation is more of neutral observation of the present moment and the thoughts that come along with it, and not necessarily thought blocking. I haven't seen it this way before until this video. Thank you!

Sadhu Sadhu 😊😊 thank you so much
Thanks Nick for the wise words. My path is still long to go. But the moments when i’m in my spiritual path my world is almost perfect. I feel much more rest in myself. And i can see where the problem is from a distance. And i can fix it. So thanks 🙏🏻
You're welcome. And keep up the great work on your end as well :-)
Thank you for all your videos, they do assist in many ways, for your kindness and warmth, which shows.
My father passed away yesterday, it does bring about a reflection of life.
Many blessings and love💜💖💝
My condolences to you and your family. Sending you my blessings from Thailand my friend. ❤️

Thank you Nick. The timing for this video is perfect. Letting the engine cool / cooling the overheated emotions. I had such a situation 5 minutes ago, just before seeing your video. I knew letting the engine cool by listening to my friend in Thailand would help me to stay neutral and objectively deal with issue. It has in so many ways. Stay safe my friend!
Oh wow. i'm glad the video came out at the right time. haha. Thank you for sharing my friend :)

So simple yet so profound. Nothing good comes from dealing with stuff when overheating. Been there too many times, love this simple info. Thank you Nick
Wonderful Frank. Thank you. Yes it's important to be very neutral and calm ☺️
I want to tell you that I have watched your videos off and on from the start and can see how much more peace you have now and I am truly so happy for you. Your video brought me to tears because I am not in the best place in my life right now and hearing you speak brought me peace and hope that I haven't had in a long time. Thank you so much I just subscribed, because I don't know how to become a Buddhist monk.
Thank you so much Ashley. And it's ok. Just slowly make the shift. It's not too late 😊
Very helpful, I like the metaphor of the car. I will use it in my counselling practice with clients.
Oh wonderful! I’m glad that resonates 😊
Thank you Nick!🙏🙏🙏

Wonderful. I’m glad it’s helpful 😀
As i apply concepts to my life seriously i am finding buddhism to be a spiritual path that clicks with me. almost like, finally this is what settles with my soul. i want to convey this joy to my friends and loved ones, but i feel as though i am a newborn to it and not experienced, so i often refer them to your videos since they are much of why i started this path. thank you ❤
Beautiful teaching 😍
A great and useful lesson, Venerable Nick.🙏🧘
That car analogy is very valuable, thank you for sharing!
Sadhu Sadhu 😊😊 thank you so much
Thank you for sharing Nick, blessings from Austria 🇦🇹
My pleasure. Thank you so much 😊
Thank You for your teaching! Could you please elaborate on greed, anger, and delusion that cause suffering next time you release a new video? Your teaching is so relatable and so easy to understand and follow. To be free from suffering is the ultimate life goal. Please teach us how to exclude greed, anger, and delusion from our lives.
sadhu sadhu. thank you so much for the suggestion vicky 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you!
Wow. That's so wonderful to hear that it's giving you a different perspective. Keep up the great work Jillian 😊😊

Thank you for sharing this with us. I struggle with patience. I have found areas where I need refinement, but the process of learning how to identify and implement the changes needed to change behaviors connected to changing thought patterns is not as easy as I thought it would be.
Yes it does take time. However, it's great that you are currently aware of it. That's a great start :-)
