  • In this video I show 3 different techniques in the same piece:
    - How to avoid twists/skew when crocheting in a spiral (rounds) for amigurumi or not
    - How to joint/unite the colors without create a skew
    - How to carry yarn in crochet when you crochet in round
This method is useful if you need to crochet inserts on a toy.
A practical example is the bottle of poison from my Wednesday doll in sale on my Etsy shop here:

I’m going to try this on a child’s crochet hat in the round with worsted weight yarn , I hope it works for the hat . I just have a question , when you begin the first stitch of white you go under to finish the sc and at the end you go over in green to finish sc
    Thank you for the video

      Hi Barbara
I didn't quite understand your question, sorry! But I'll try to answer, ok :)
"So you added a chain 1 at new color 1st stitch???"
Yes, there's a 1 chain that I made when I first changed color, that's, from green to white.

"And THAT puts the stitches in line???"
Yes, but you must also make ALL stitches of this pattern in FLO. Otherwise, the drawing, in this case the square, will not be aligned/straight. Only the base does not need to be crocheted in FLO.
So I hope I have answered your questions.
Thank you and have a nice day :)

Let me see if I understand. Rather than finishing the last stitch of color *A* by pulling through a loop of color *B* . Thereby making the *new* color part of the *old* color stitch. Instead you *finish the stitch with the *first* color, then chain one with the *new* color, which then connects with the color *B* stitches in the row. Am I correct?
Quick curiosity. Are you using an Under/Over stitch. I'm told many amigurumi crocheteers (I know it's not the proper term, but it's what *I* call it) like the tighter Yarn Under method.

I'm very new to both crochet and to amigurumi so forgive my ignorance. Your chain 1 color change technique looks so much more streamlined and simple. With this color change technique, does that chain 1 alter the pattern design or stitch count in any way? Is this chain 1 color change technique as effective when working both loops (standard crochet practice) or when working in BLO? I haven't tried your technique yet but can't help thinking that the added chain 1 would affect the pattern in some way.
Since your vids are helpful to those learning crochet or those looking to improve upon or try a new crochet technique, I wanted to request that you include Closed Captioning to all of your videos to help people follow along...
      Thank you!

Hi, I crochet normally on an oval/circular base. Then I do FLO on the rest, on the green and white part. Thank you for watching!
