  • The Watercraft Journal was invited to ride with the Great Lakes Ski Riders on an EPIC 238-mile all-day journey crossing over THREE LAKES, battling white caps, super polluted rivers, and keeping our supercharged Kawasaki Ultra 310LX pinned at wide open to keep pace with some super fast skis.

    Love this!
Maybe the Great Lake Riders would be willing to come out near Sault Ste Marie and do Lake Michigan, Huron, and Superior. Personally, it's my favorite ride🎿

Also in Michigan and love riding the Great Lakes. Most beautiful place in the country during the summer. Looking to drive down to Mudbug in a few weeks to participate in my first ride with a group of fellow enthusiasts. I just bought a Go Pro and a floaty (as Kevin recommended the floaty in a prior video.) I also took his advice on cheap mounts and decided to go with a RAM mount instead of clip or suction.

What an amazing journey. Nice to see you in Canadian waters. You should do the 1000 Island Tour

Very well put together, Kevin. What a great group! Having people who KNOW where they are going, and have a plan when things go wrong, is key for those kind of trips. It’s like you need a guide, a guy (or gal) or two who know how to turn wrenches, and someone to talk sense into us to keep us out of trouble lol. Not many groups can pull this off.

Ultra is the king of chop (which is most busy lakes on any Saturday). I didn't see much chop in this video though

Love the video, Kevin. It’s nice to see the north get some attention. I grew up on Lake Erie and learn to ride Annette back in 97. I never took this ride but my brother who still lives up there has been bugging me to do a PWC camping trip up that way. I hope to make time to do so!

It was a pleasure to ride with you Kevin. Thank you for the friendly words and aggressive riding! We will have to do it again, take me up on my offer for Cedar point and Islands ride sometime, some good riders over there too. Sorry for getting frustrated but I TOLD YOU SO!!😂😂😅

You're in my neck of the woods! I ride Lake Huron, St. Claire and Erie all the time. Too bad it wasn't the right time of year. July and August is best. Like someone said, you need to try the 1000 Islands between New York and Ontario. Some of the best water in the world.

Ah, no way! I wish I knew you were coming to Amherstburg/Windsor, I ride past Boblo Island all the time! ("All the time" as if I didn't just buy my first ski this year). Hope you enjoyed the ride!
Up until a couple years ago they had the drop tower still standing on the island. They took it down though since it was deteriorating too much. I am from Windsor so I am in the Detroit River/Lake Erie :)

Wow, there's no way I could have done a ride like this. Props to everyone, looks like a lot of fun, and gives me a good idea of more places I can go in the area. Thanks!
Also, Lake Huron is absolutely gorgeous! You should see if you can ever get up to Tobemory, Flower Pot Island, and Manituilan Island. The water is even clearer/bluer than the area you were in

So ridding that long distance would you rather choose Yamaha FX over Kawasaki ?

  • @harshmoor2280

See thats what I'm thinking, I wanna go with the kawasaki. But the seedoo has that option to clear out the pump right. Kinda scared my rides will be ruined without it.

The GoPro float will not float if it has ANY additional weight like a camera mount. This is 100% unacceptable. So wish someone would create a 3rd party solution.
Looked like a great ride with great folks.

I purposely bought the bag I had because it was heavily padded, and had a tightly wound dry bag tied to it. It couldn't keep up against the incessant pounding and water intrusion. -K
