    I used to have a rotary vane pump, and after about 10 years, it started making a lot of noise. I installed a rebuild kit on it to get a few more years from it, but after the 2nd rebuild, it was the motor bearings that were giving out and no rebuild kit would fix that. I decided to go with a new diaphragm pump and have been very happy with how much quieter it is, even when the rotary vane style was working well, it was significantly louder. I have a 500 gal system and it's been rock solid for 2 years now. I have my system serviced every six months and haven't had any issues. Your videos are very informative and help to keep the consumer well informed about a system they rarely have to interact with.

    Very useful video thanks, it just popped up on my phone thanks to the algorithms. We live in the Scottish Highlands and we have a Graaf treatment plant. The original Hiblow 100 conked out after only 28 months and when I stripped it down I found dry mud inside, lots of rust and a water level mark about 1" up the cover. My guess is that our builder dropped it in a muddy puddle. Once my service engineer let slip that these are koi carp pumps I was on a roll and I got a Sekoh 100 for half the price of the Hiblow. It weighs 2 kgs less so it doesn't distort the alloy mounting shelf as badly and after 3 weeks it's running fine though it gets noisy in sunny weather when it heats up inside the case.
    I wanted to fit a remote red warning LED on the case where I can see it from inside the house. Graaf wanted £187 + 20% VAT for an LED, a length of coiled cable and a plug, daylight robbery! I got the bits for about £30 online and Graaf told me about the terminal block inside the control panel for wiring a remote failure LED so now I'm all set up.
    How long can I expect the Sekoh to last? I hope longer than 28 months.

      Normally they last longer I would say that submerging it in water didn’t help. Also how deep is the pond and what type of diffuser is on it will matter also.

    You probably won’t believe me but I just replaced a hiblow 80 that lasted 12 years +. Never rebuilt once. Electronics went bad. Glad I found your site. No where to shop now.

      Van Massey I’ve seen that happen it not the rule it more the exception. Depends on the state as well we normally in Texas only see 3-4 years before rebuild. I have seen them go 10 years here but 1 out of 200 maybe. They are more cost effective in the since they take less power and can be rebuilt. 10-12 is normal for total failure the coils normally go bad that’s an amazing life for something that runs none stop.

    My old house next door has an old tank. Single chamber. Tank is right next to house. Inlet on one side outlet sanitary T opposite side. Will an air bubbler system like this work on that tank?? Can the pump be placed outside..... Im in Oklahoma by Arkansas state line. So we do occasionally get snow

    I have a rental home with only a 250 gallon tank. Would this Rotaty pump help break down the toilet paper in the tank? I have to pump it every 10-12 months.

    Hello. So I had a motor that hung down in my system, it had like steel straps that corroded and the whole thing fell in. I replaced with the green one that sits on top like you have there. Are the other ones like I had that came with my system better? I believe it’s a Norwex.

    • @wholesalesepticsupply9801
      @wholesalesepticsupply9801  2 года назад

      Norweco sorry that system was the one installed. Years ago that was the way to aerate a system but a lot of new designs have come out and are more effective and more durable. Government also got involved in fractional motors are not worth a nickel now.

    I have a 4.5 year old system with a SECOH JDK-40 linear pump on it. The pump is still making good pressure but it has started turning itself off every few hours triggering the pressure alarm. It will sit for about 20 minutes and then start back up. I'm guessing that the air pump itself is failing and triggering a thermal protection switch and I should just replace the whole air pump. Any thoughts?

      Yes if it is kicking on and off I would replace the whole unit.

      @@wholesalesepticsupply9801 Yep! Within a day of asking this it failed completely and became noticeably louder. I ordered a new one from you guys along with new diffusers and it started working perfectly again. I looked at the old diaphragms and they were both badly torn. I'll shortly be ordering a rebuild kit from you and I'll keep the old pump as my standby. I'm also going to start replacing the diffusers every two years since the old ones were plugged up and diffusers are cheap and easy to replace. Thanks for the accurate advice!

    This is a matter of curiosity for me. First, how big does a linear diaphragm sewage aerator pump like those described in this video need to be in order to have an output of 10,000 cubit feet per hour? Second, can you tell me what brands make sewage aerator pumps --- specifically linear diaphragm pumps --- of that output capacity? Third, do you know of a company called "Aerojet" that makes these kinds of sewage aerators? I have tried to look up this company on the internet, but the only results I find are of an "Aerojet" that makes rocket stuff and which has nothing to do with sewage aerators. Fourth, can you tell me just what kind of sewage treatment application this monster contraption would be used with? I have more to ask and tell, but I will wait until you answer these questions.

    • @wholesalesepticsupply9801
      @wholesalesepticsupply9801  4 года назад

      I don’t think anyone makes one that big there is more efficient ways to get that much air so no one has done that.

      @@wholesalesepticsupply9801 Okay, Wholesale Septic Supply, thank you for your information. Now I'll tell you more about this 10,000-SCFH monster aeration pump I was describing. I saw such an aeration pump like this at a place called Kenbrook Bible Camp in the year of 1984 --- I was 13 years old at the time. It served a four-tank sewage effluent treatment system that came off a septic tank. The manager of the place told me that its output was 10,000 cubic feet per hour and that it had a 3,400-RPM motor. My reason for saying that I suspect a company called Aerojet made that pump was because that was the name I saw not on the pump unit itself but on a nearby electrical control box for the pump. Furthermore, I believe that this aeration pump was a diaphragm pump was because it made that same chugging noise unique to at least one of the linear diaphragm pumps shown either on your site or on someone else's site. And yes, in my memory of that Aerojet pump from 35 years ago I indeed did think of that --- as to why there would be a diaphragm pump that big if there are more efficient ways to produce that kind of airflow --- but all I know was that I saw this kind of aerator pump and I wondered what you would say about it. By the way, the "AEROJET" logo I saw on that control box near the pump consisted of a...You know how the Ford logo is, with that shiny dark blue oval with "Ford" written in white cursive letters in its center? Now imagine a red oval like that with the word "Aerojet" written in cursive white letters in its center. That was the Aerojet logo. The pump itself was colored in a shade of light blue, and it was perhaps 3 feet long, 2 feet wide, and 2 feet high. It was mounted on metal legs which elevated the entire unit about a foot off the ground. The air pipe came out the bottom and then branched off into the four tanks. Do you have anything to say about what I just told you here?

    Why wouldn’t I just install a $50 wind turbine on the roof, vs these expensive pumps?

    • @MadMonk67
      @MadMonk67 Год назад

      Not a bad idea, but there could be times when is isn't windy (or windy enough) so you wouldn't have a constant supply of air. Bacteria need near-constant supply of air.

    • @zehuazhou3390
      @zehuazhou3390 Год назад

      @@MadMonk67 yeah. There are other options like solar powered wind turbine which can run on both solar and wind and also pretty cheap.
