That was amazing, beautifully filmed and composed. I have watched a lot of Tour Divide YT films, this is by far the best! Your honesty, humour and sheer bloody mindedness is truely inspiring. Thank you for sharing this journey with us.
I've recently gotten into touring...going from my first RAGBRAI in 2022 (self contained because I am an introvert), to cycling an extra 500 miles after last year's RAGBRAI (to home), to this year planning to cycle to and from RAGBRAI this year (1500 miles). My Trek 3700 is a low end bike, but I'm attached to it too much to upgrade. However, I've been learning about bike maintenance and ergonomics and have poured money into my bike to improve it. My bike mechanic seems to think I am more of capable of doing the Tour Divide and reccomended this video to learn about it. I'm not at all an offroad cyclist, but he said I should put this on my bucket list. 😅
I would like to congratulate you for being able to share all sacrifices and all physical and mental levels with passion and glory, it's most human bikepacking log i ever seen🤍💯 respect
So good!!! I sort of expected a bit of the typical mold of a bikepacking film, and was so pleasantly surprised by this! Thank you for not feeling locked into the typical routine of when to film, and what to say. The moments you captured yourself just being goofy and delirious were wonderfully relatable. I'm pretty introverted, and don't share these ridiculous moments with many people, so the fact you're willing to put it all out there is refreshing! Thank you for this!
Haha I see what you mean. Thank you for saying that, I’m glad to hear these moments were appreciated. And I think its the key to touch people, its to be vulnerable, authentic. Its funny bc im a bit of an introvert too, and with this Mini gopro there are no screens, it doesnt feel like im filming, I felt like I was alone when I recorded. Im happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
The drive to ride the divide is something many strive for but a relative few (on the grand scale of things) complete. Hats off to anyone who gets to the starting line and tries! Your energy and perseverance is amazing and the will it took you to finish inspiring. You're like me, screaming out in joy as you ride in wide open lonely spaces. Congrats on a great ride and your other racing efforts. Thank you for this video.
Hello, It will be a repeating thing, I know! But I loved your way of dealing with all the challenges and setting your boundaries. It is an inspiration for me while I won't race and won't ride into the night. After seeing your achievement I know I can too. I will be (already am) focussed on reaching the Mexican border. Next year July I will start (66,9 years old) on my first bikepacking ride. The main thing will be ENJOYMENT! Congratulations with your achievement and thank you, again, for showing your journey, with the highlights and the deep points, which are always there!

I have the same drive to ride and get some much joy and happiness when I’m riding out there in the mountains. Hopefully I will ride the tour Divide in 2025 or 26
Awww.. yeah, I know what you mean. Thank you for sharing this. It was exactly my goal with the film, to bring people closer to this emotion of joy and freedom that we love so much on the bike. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much Marie. I loved seeing and hearing you tell this story! You are exceptional in so many ways and others have much to learn from your approach, your character and your spirit. Bravo!
I'm about 1/4 way through you video.....this is a wonderful production....wonderful effort....and well, just awesome. Can't wait to watch the rest....thank you for bringing us along!!!!
Truly fantastic ! firstly a huge well done for doing it in under 20 days. This is definitely one of the best video's that show the ups and downs, and the grit and determination to succeed with a goal and vision. Absolutely brilliant !!!! I always like the term " type 2 fun" when you kind of hate the situation at the time, but look back on it with fondness later on when you have time to reflect.
Awwww I'm so happy to read this!! Wow, I'm glad my passion and everything I wanted to express came through exactly how I was hoping. Thank you. Yes that's so true, what we find on the other side of discomfort is beautiful, just need to keep going passed it ☺️ Thanks for watching!
Wow! Heart and soul of a champion. It was tough just watch the sun beating down on your bare neck and shoulders. Thanks for sharing your adventure, good and bad. I'm way beyond impressed.
I felt so much with you in those headwinds; the mentally most demanding circumstances as a cyclist, for me at least. Fighting against AIR. Thanks for letting us be part of your story; turning down your professional career for what your simply felt to be the right thing to do: SO inspiring. You never will regret this decision, regretting is unprofessional they say over here. And there’s truth to it; all the best, all will turn out well for you!
I am so blown away by you, all the positivety through all them hard days is so contagious. You are one amazing and happy woman. Congradations on your achievement. Go get them girls next year...
What a roller coaster ride of emotions. You had my undivided attention the entire time. especially around 18:00 discussing the choice to punt the road race and stick to your Divide commitment. Choosing the path less traveled. I'm hoping to go from moderate road cyclist to ultra road/gravel events or just serious bikepacking in retirement in two years, or sooner. The Panceltic ultra in up on my list. Thanks for the inspiration!
I've been watching most of the Tour Divide documentaries I can find for past few years and I stumbled across yours just recently even though it has out for a while now. This has to be the most raw one I've seen to date. Everyone has their own style of documentation but I enjoyed yours the most even though you seemed to use a minimal recording equipment. I want to ride the Divide in the future and this film was very inspirational. This also makes me a proud fellow Canadian. Thank you Marie!
The whole “stream of conscience/nonsense while on the bike is the most relatable part for me. Trying to whip yourself into shape, and push on over the next obstacle. The lows are what make the highs worthwhile!

What an amazing effort. I love the way you have documented it in this film, so honest, raw and vulnarable at times. The 1 minute that sums it all up is for me is 1:06:48. to 1:07:46. Every emotion is there in just 1 minute. The best minute of the film ;-) Thank you for sharing this. You are an inspiration.
Ahhh Yes!!! Yes it’s the culminating point, when all the emotion collides. I still get emotional when I watch it haha. This is why I wanted to race the TD. It’s a great feeling to reach your limits, but it requires so much. This experience was so deep 🙏 I’m glad to read your comment, that I was able to communicate it and share it with you this way. Thanks for watching and for your comment ☺️
Wow, that was a very good film. So alive, emotional and touching. Yet simple and close. Haven't seen something like that for a while. Thank you for making and sharing this.

Greetings from Norway. Just stumbled upon your channel and I have to say that you have made a few very very good videos. You are an absolute beast and you seem never to be in a bad mood. You make me smile! Making content like this is something you need to keep doing. 💪

This was big telly material! I absolutely loved this. You had me hooked from start to finish. Massive congratulations 🎉 I’m glad someone else sings their heart out on big trips!
Wow. Wonderful. I gave you a zero chance of finishing in the first few minutes of the film since you came out of the gate charging so hard. Thrilled you proved me wrong. And took us along for the ride. Thx!
Really excellent job telling this story and putting together this video Marie. I am not a racer, but at times I can have a fairly competitive spirit. I think the themes and challenges you faced are relatable and relevant to anyone and you captured it beautifully. Great job finishing 8th!
great coverage. Was thinking about doing the divide for leisure, now seriously thinking about doing the race. inspirational coverage. All the best in your future events
Thank you so much for telling your epic race. That headwind from Atlantic City was brutal. As our northbound motorcycle group passed you and the other riders just south of Atlantic City I just was amazed at the racer's grit in grinding out that headwind. You're a superwoman by any definition! s
Bravo encore !!!
Thank you very much Marie! I am planning for next year,”just” to cycle the GDMBR. I will retire next year and start with this (first!) bikepacking trip! I am exprienced tourcyclist on a recumbent. I did two 6 months trips of 11.000 and 9500 km with a lot of stealth camping. This would probably enough to start this adventure next year. Not on a recumbent, although it might be possible…. Thanks for the mind set part of your film, it might be more important than the body / trainings part.
Simply Amazing! You definitely hit a home run on this video and the infectious drive to just push forward during the TD. Thanks for sharing the highs and lows of your journey! Looking to follow these tracks this year on 14 June!!

A few years after the knee injury, I was lazy and didn't feel like doing it at all. Now I'm pushing again. And I'm waiting for new films, reels, news. Now that you're a super star, you have to post something online from time to time!! Greetings from Poland!
Loved every moment, your positivity of spirit and smile are infectious, truly inspiring!!! 👏🏻🌟🚲❤️
Yay, so happy to read this - thank you!!

Tres chic Marie! What a great story! It brought back memories of my 2022 bikepacking along the GDMBR
Chic.. hahaha not always my best description haha but I get what you're saying - thank you so much for watching and congrats on your big ride!!
Greetings from Norway. Just stumbled upon your channel and I have to say that you have made a few very very good videos. You are an absolute beast and you seem never to be in a bad mood. You make me smile! Making content like this is something you need to keep doing. 💪
Hahhahaha! Yes I do get in a bad mood at times - but I cut it in the edit unless it's funny to watch being grumpy - hahaha :) thank you so much !!
This was beautiful, funny, emotional, and all the other emotions. So well captured! (And raced!!)
Aw, thank you for your comment - glad to hear that everything I wished to share was felt :)
Marie-Soleil!
Just wow. Can't wait to see what you do next!
😀
Loved your movie: editing, music, comments, videos, etc. 👍👍
I discovered the GDMBR with @duzer and now the Tour through you@@msoleilblais74. Will do it summer 2025. Not the Tour, the GDMBR. 🙂
This was big telly material! I absolutely loved this. You had me hooked from start to finish. Massive congratulations 🎉 I’m glad someone else sings their heart out on big trips!
Haha yay!! Awesome, I'm so glad to read this, thanks for watching and keep singing your heart out !!!
Wow. Wonderful. I gave you a zero chance of finishing in the first few minutes of the film since you came out of the gate charging so hard. Thrilled you proved me wrong. And took us along for the ride. Thx!
Hahahahahaha that’s funny. Well I never doubted 🤣 I never quit! I did learn a ton though haha. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Awesome film. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this amazing film!! Loved it every minute… for a mortal like me and a tour divide rider this film is just epic.
Thank you so much for watching!!
Really excellent job telling this story and putting together this video Marie. I am not a racer, but at times I can have a fairly competitive spirit. I think the themes and challenges you faced are relatable and relevant to anyone and you captured it beautifully. Great job finishing 8th!
Aw thank you so much, glad to read it felt relatable ☺️ thanks for watching!
great coverage. Was thinking about doing the divide for leisure, now seriously thinking about doing the race. inspirational coverage. All the best in your future events
This is so cool! I'm glad this film inspired you to challenge yourself.
Thanks for watching !
Keep making this content,, I'm very picky and I watched your entire movie,, splendid !!!
Ah I'm so glad to hear, thank you so much :)
Absolutely epic effort and film. Bravo!!!
Aw thank you so much !!
Great video! Extremely inspiring and renewed my motivation to tour the route. Great job!
Yayy!!! 🥳 thats what I want to read yay!
Thank you so much for telling your epic race. That headwind from Atlantic City was brutal. As our northbound motorcycle group passed you and the other riders just south of Atlantic City I just was amazed at the racer's grit in grinding out that headwind. You're a superwoman by any definition! s
Hahaha yes that wind was particularly brutal!! Thank you!
Great stuff, even GREATER ATTITUDE! Stick with it!!!
Haha thank you!! 😀
Insane dedication and drive! Thanks for sharing the amazing journey!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this! Such an inspiration!
Thank you !
Warrior…….. that’s what you are. ❤ thanks for sharing
Thank you for your comment!
Tres cool, merci!!
Cool film. Thanks for sharing your ride.
Thank you!
Bravo encore !!!
Ah c'est super cool !!
So inspiring ! Keep it up Marie !!
Hey thank you so much!
Hey that's awesome!! And thank you for watching!
Simply Amazing! You definitely hit a home run on this video and the infectious drive to just push forward during the TD. Thanks for sharing the highs and lows of your journey! Looking to follow these tracks this year on 14 June!!
YEAH!! 🤟 Awesome ☺️ glad you enjoyed the film! Thanks for your comment ☺️ Best of luck if I dont see you on the start line
@@msoleilblais74 Yes, best of luck to you and I am sure you will shave some more time off :) Question, what was your setup for filming; i.e. gopro, mount, etc,? Want to capture my adventure as well!
Your joy hoots in the openings scenes and music grabbed me! Very much liked this, thankyou
Yahhooo! Haha glad you enjoyed it!
Well done, young lady. Hope you're able to race the Tour Divide again in the future! Loved the video.
Thank you :) I hope so too !
There is now way this video has only 191 likes! I've seen at lest a few Tour Devide videos and this one rocks! Amazing job! Not only making it, but also recording while doing that. Enjoyed watching so much! You can almost feel how much fun you had riding Tour Divide :)
Wow, thank you! Hahaha. Well I hope more people think like you as the time goes haha. It's ok I have just published the film and i'm just starting out in videos. I'm very happy that you liked it as much as I enjoyed making it - AND riding it !!
