- Let's bulk install PPF on this difficult truck hood. This is a 2023 Ford F350 Lariat Super Duty. We are going to wrap the PPF into the Super Duty lettering. This is a time consuming and tedious process. This Paint Protection Film installation video will go over the stretching, squeegeeing, contouring to recessed lettering, and other tricks that will help you through this difficult install. We bulk almost all of the hoods we install Paint Protection Film on. Bulking hoods is easier, faster, and very customizable. My name is Brent and I have been an automotive window tinter since 1998 and have been installing paint protection film since 2004. In 1998 I took a 5 day class to learn the basics of window tinting. Then I started tinting cars and learning as I went. In 2004 I bought a roll of paint protection film (clear bra by 3m) and taught myself how to install it. Funny, I did one the other day just like this. It turned out terrible. So I made a new plan where I focused stretching and squeegeeing just on the front curve, didn't tac the back corners and then let the valleys fall in with no tension... Turned out even worse. So i went this way again and I nailed it. Why didn't it just work the first time? Three damn tries to get it right!
How long have you been installing PPF?
Don't you just love PPF! LOL 😂😅 Some days are just like that. I tell my wife on those days "This is all because I thought is was a good idea to wake up and go to work today". Some days, you get your butt kicked for no good reason at all. It's just one of those days.
In the end, you won though. That's the important part! I'm pretty much always going to win. The question is, how long is it going to take me to get there. :)

I have not received any feedback from the customer, and he did not call to set up his 1-month inspection. Therefore, I can only assume that everything is looking good. I installed the PPF on the hood early during the two weeks we had it, so I saw it well past the drying stage. Be sure to remove all moisture from the tiny corners in the letters; otherwise, they will dry with small air bubbles.

I recommend using that 6.5mm pink squeegee on that valley.just one swipe.

So, you are saying you think with a softer squeegee I should be able to conform down into the recesse and squeegee all of the air and slip solution out?

I did one of these a few years back. It was a bitch. An that car was lifted on 37” tires…..Badlands edition lol. Had to be on a stepladder the entire time.
I'm with you on that one! This hood isn't much fun even at this height. 🤣 Super lifted trucks are hard enough to get into, let alone install tint or PPF on. I've worked on a few over the years.
Have you done new 2023 f450 or f350 dually.?
I have not installed PPF on the new dually.

Are you looking for a video about installing PPF on the dually fenders on the truck bed? I've installed PPF on a few over the years, but not since I've started recording everything.
@EncorePPFtint yeah I want to see if it's better to get a full ppf or just the pre made cut
My understanding is that the kits actually fit really well on the dually fenders. I've personally never used them but would definitely give them a try. 👍🏻 kits cut by CORE or DAP
