In the manga, venti mentions how the Celestial Gods are very dangerous and cruel so people should never cross them in any way. Zhangli is under contract with the Celestial Gods due to his time being a Archon so he should be bound by agreement to never speak about the truth of the events from 500 years ago even when he is no longer a Archon just like Venti is or else he risk the Celestial gods wrath on Liyue.
Well honestly I think zhongli tried his best to give us (travelers) hints. He may not directly tell us what happened 500 years ago, but the fact that he told us that ’he could not tell because of a contract signed before everything was settled down’ itself is already informative. If the contract that prevents him from telling us his experience was signed 500 years ago, he won’t regard the contract as ‘the contract signed before everything’. So, the war 500 years ago has something to do with the origins of ‘the seven gods’ I guess. Also, he encourages us to travel more, understand this world deeper, which indicates that the understanding to the world is somehow very important to us. Lumine said something similar, even though she definitely does not have a contract. Either the truth is not something that can be described easily, or some kind of principles prevent them from telling us directly. Overall, I think Zhongli tried his best to help us. He called us friends, wanted to tell us if allowed, but he just can’t. I personally am really excited about what will happen next in the story.

Adepti are also not gods, they're some kind of demigods but that doesn't change the fact that there are some gods in this world like andrius who literally tranformed monstad in a frozen waste land without being an archon. so i guess that if you put in a hierarchy it would be Celestia→archons→gods→adepti→elemental spirits/creatures.
This makes me question, few adeptus, adepti or vision holders can't dodge a bullet, the only characters that can are xiao, every shield user, ayaka, mona, Diluc Kaeya Childe (if they're athletic enough), and lastly hu tao due to her invinsibility

Visions are the pawns, and they have the chance to replace the archons if they died or lost the gnosis. Thats why Baal is taking all the vision within the borders (she probably doesnt have her gnosis anymore) Theory i got from Teyvat Historia

I think everybody even venti wont tell us anything until we meet Tsaritsa. She is not afraid of Celestia and she is already gone too far for her plans. If she sees us as potential power, an ally, She could say whatever she wants. Though Fatui changes their opinion on us all of the time, first signora ignores us, then scaramounce tries to kill us after that both signora and childe accepts us getting stronger but threathen us to not get in their way. Who knows maybe one of the harbingers tries to side with us just so they can get advantage.
Childe will probably try to defeat all harbingers with traveler (He suggests that when talking about joining the fatui) But does Tsaritsa even care about MC? I think Elecrto Archont will give us information

Lowkey feels like there's definitely a lot more going on behind the scenes. It's strange that Zhongli was made to sign a contract most likely after the destruction of Khaenri'ah, but that implies one thing, that those on Celestia hold far greater power than the Archons. It's to a point that they've probably been forced by Celestia itself.

Lore wise we have an idea of what, too; the monsters we've been fighting have been more-or-less proven to be the old humans of Kanraeaih (however its spelled), and supposedly the gods (i.e. venti, Zhongli, etc...) got mad that a country was so successful without gods, so they burned the whole country to the ground, cursing the people and making them monsters. So yea Zhongli is hiding his genocide
@@jackschnabel856 As much as I dislike Venti no offence, I highly doubt he took part in the Genocide. He's the god of freedom and literally doesn't give two shits about his godly duties. I think he might like the idea of a civilization made by humans and not with the help of gods. I doubt he had a malicious side either. Its possible Celestia forced them into wiping out Khaenri'ah. However, there are some Archons that I think did took part in the slaughter willingly but this can only be speculation; Zhongli, Baal & Murata all seem like possible candidates.

The abyss is full of creatures Teyvat has never seen nor fought before. Childe is living proof of that. His final boss fight form uses Abyssal energy and powers. He learned from being in the Abyss for months. He was taught by a person named Skirk described as female. She was living in the Abyss and still is. She taught him the power of “ Foul Legacy “ the power the Abyss has invented to tell the gods of Celestia. It’s a power that even the Archons couldn’t beat 1 on 1. Raiden May have more of a shot than any, but he was taking it easy on us in the Liyue boss fight. Were he to go all out he can ups kill all archons and maybe Celestia. That is why Skirk taught him my friend believes. That blood lust and thirst for combat he has. The drive to fight powerful foes for fun because he likes a challenge. In his voice lines after ascending him to friendship lvl 10 he speaks about his time in the Abyss a bit and he mentions the monsters he fought and how strong they were even for him when using Foul Legacy. He said one defeated him again and again and he still wants to go back to face it again and win one day. If monsters stronger than him live in Abyss, they could easily be more of a threat than any archon has ever faced if sent in a coordinated attack under Lumine or Aether’s control and command. The Archons would be forced to ally against her and even then I surmise that would not be enough without the traveler’s intervention. I don’t believe that Tartaglia/ Childe would help the Abyss destroy Teyvat. He loves the Tsaritza and would die to complete her will, he’d fight for Teyvat I believe, but he would fight Celestia too. The Tsaritza and Schneznya want to destroy Celestia. Fatui want other things as we’ve seen. But that is why Tsaritza cut ties with and has begun her war against the other archons. She thinks them to be puppets of Celestia still. Mikoto fought against Celestia to protect Khanrea ( I cannot spell it sorry lmao ) but I don’t think the Tsaritza knows the other Archons are starting to try severing ties with Celestia too. Raiden Shogun Ei cut ties with Celestia after Mikoto’s death. I think that an alliance between Archons and Abyss to destroy Celestia is almost plausible too, but I think it’s not gunna that way at all. They’re going to fight until they’re at a cross roads. One where the fighting seems all for nothing. I know it. Especially how the sibling talks about “ Once you reach the end of your journey, you’ll finally see the true nature of this world. “ probably meaning that it’s struggles are pointless and not what they seem. Yes like the fatui didn't really harm any people. In monstadt they just straight up steal the gnosis from venti. In liyue it's a contract. While the lower rank fatui didn't really attack citizens like the fat guys with guns. While the others just work basically for negotiations and stuff. I feel like the Cryo Archon didn't want to harm others aswell. Maybe she still have love left inside her.

To be honest if you really think about it, Venti doesn’t really give any fs about his godly duties and basically just says that Monstadt is a free nation - ruled by the humans. Whereas for Zhongli, he willingly parts with his gnosis and keeps saying that divinity is no longer needed and that mankind is practically running the city at this point. Zhongli is the god of contacts, wealth and commerce etc which means that he’s practically the god of mankind 😂 Celestia probably already knows that some of the original archons wouldn’t agree to the destruction of Khaenri’ah and so therefore they planned ahead and made a contract with Zhongli since they know that Zhongli will stay by the contract. The deal however for the contract is the bigger question. What was the contract about? Could it be that celestia will threaten the people of Liyue or anything else that’s personal to Zhongli - who knows. ( so maybe they’re forced to do something bad ) Venti in the other hand, may reveal somethings but not everything. The other archons are still ruling their nations by under their hands so maybe some of the archons agree with Celestia’s motives. Completely speculation though from what we gathered 😂
Knowing Venti, he'll give us the gist of it, or some part of it, but not the full story. Or he might not at all if the people up in Celestia also pulled some strings to get him to keep his mouth shut.

I think you took it literally... What if the contract with Tsaritsa is ongoing? The contract to end all contract could be when Tsaritsa gathers all gnosis to fight with Celestia and if they ever defeated whoever the fck is there maybe that is the time Zhongli is free from contract. Just my theory
the thing is that the Celestial Gods are always watching and everyone else, other than the Cryo Archon, does not want to face the wrath of the Celestial Gods. Even Venti said in the prequel manga that the Celestial Gods are not only more powerful than all Archons but also more cruel as they don't really value the life of people living below Celestia.

I think we will get the answer at Pyro Nation/Natlan since their Archon is God Of War, and Teyvat Chapter Trailer, the Dialouge say Pyro Archon will share his/her secret with us traveller, so yeah i think it useless to ask other Archon Beside Pyro Archon and Tsaritsa, maybe Venti will give us hint or something

I saw a manga when Vnessa talks to Venti about Celestia . Venti looks afraid of people/gods of Celestia . I think the Gods are forced to destroying khaenri ah in that time .
My headcanon (TL;DR below) is that the Archons are not really agreeing with Celestia. In the manga Venti always changes the subject whenever he gets asked about Celestia. And now Zhongli says he signed a contract to not speak about the fall of Khaenri'ah. Not to mention Zhongli gave his Gnosis away willingly in a contract with Tsaritsa and says that the balancing factor is to be discovered in iur future adventures. It could be that the Gnosis is like a mind control thing used by Celestia to rule Teyvat, with the Archons being their hands. It could be that Both Venti and Zhongli agrees to help Tsaritsa rebel and overthrow Celestia, and giving humans their time to grow. Zhongli and the adepti agreed that in the current time, humans are far more advanced than they were millenia ago, and that the adepti don't need to micromanage everything and just live as a guardian. TL;DR Celestia is power hungry and wants to rule everything to give them a sense of power, Archons disagree and is planning to overthrow them with their own ways. Imagine Celestia as the government not wanting commoners to have power or they'd lose their control over us all
I don’t really think it’s mind control i think the archons really did like Celestia a long time ago, since ascending to celestia would be a great honour right? But maybe as time grew on, they found out what horrible acts goes on behind the scenes and the archons having to do some of the dirty work. So Venti not fighting back as La Signora stole his gnosis or Zhongli making a contract might just be the only way they can help the rebellion while still protecting their regions.
The more i see this scene the more i think that Zhongli is telling us that he is secretly rooting for us to find the hidden truth because he himself is forced to remain quiet though i dont think he himself participated in the destruction of khanri'ah because there isnt anything related to his use of geo weaponry in all of the mondstat region (specifically there isnt any rocky formations indicating that the lord of geo had launched any of them there otherwise we would of have had seen those hexagon shapped rocks there as well) also i could potentially be wrong because much of the eastern area of Mondstat is basically underwater which is where i believe Khanri'ah used to be located

@Ueky Hirazu yeah I believe it's referenced somewhere that Celestia has power greater than the Archons and they all have a contract to not mention any corruption from Celestia, also I don't think they hear and see everything but more so they probably have a way to know only if the contract is broken or not

Question for the lore: if I remember correctly, Lumine took the same journey Aether took (or vise versa) so that means Lumine/Aether must have met at least ONE of the collectible characters of teyvat. How is it that she/he existed and played out her/his own journey without ANYONE taking notice of her/him. Did all of teyvat collectively agree to keep quiet and reenact Lumine/Aether’s journey for the opposite sibling???

Maybe they have a contract with Celestia as elemental archons, one that was created before it all began and forced them to destroy Khaenri'ah. The tsaritsa's plan is a "contract to end all contracts", probably getting rid of their gnosis is the way to get rid of the contract that binds them to Celestia.

Maybe we should actually get the Gods side of things before we judge instead of just believing what one side has said. We are only in the early stages of the story, clearly we know next to nothing about what is happening.

In the manga, venti mentions how the Celestial Gods are very dangerous and cruel so people should never cross them in any way. Zhangli is under contract with the Celestial Gods due to his time being a Archon so he should be bound by agreement to never speak about the truth of the events from 500 years ago even when he is no longer a Archon just like Venti is or else he risk the Celestial gods wrath on Liyue.

Well honestly I think zhongli tried his best to give us (travelers) hints.
He may not directly tell us what happened 500 years ago, but the fact that he told us that ’he could not tell because of a contract signed before everything was settled down’ itself is already informative.
If the contract that prevents him from telling us his experience was signed 500 years ago, he won’t regard the contract as ‘the contract signed before everything’.
So, the war 500 years ago has something to do with the origins of ‘the seven gods’ I guess.
Also, he encourages us to travel more, understand this world deeper, which indicates that the understanding to the world is somehow very important to us.
Lumine said something similar, even though she definitely does not have a contract. Either the truth is not something that can be described easily, or some kind of principles prevent them from telling us directly.
Overall, I think Zhongli tried his best to help us. He called us friends, wanted to tell us if allowed, but he just can’t. I personally am really excited about what will happen next in the story.

I think everybody even venti wont tell us anything until we meet Tsaritsa. She is not afraid of Celestia and she is already gone too far for her plans. If she sees us as potential power, an ally, She could say whatever she wants.
Though Fatui changes their opinion on us all of the time, first signora ignores us, then scaramounce tries to kill us after that both signora and childe accepts us getting stronger but threathen us to not get in their way. Who knows maybe one of the harbingers tries to side with us just so they can get advantage.

Lowkey feels like there's definitely a lot more going on behind the scenes. It's strange that Zhongli was made to sign a contract most likely after the destruction of Khaenri'ah, but that implies one thing, that those on Celestia hold far greater power than the Archons. It's to a point that they've probably been forced by Celestia itself.

Lore wise we have an idea of what, too; the monsters we've been fighting have been more-or-less proven to be the old humans of Kanraeaih (however its spelled), and supposedly the gods (i.e. venti, Zhongli, etc...) got mad that a country was so successful without gods, so they burned the whole country to the ground, cursing the people and making them monsters.

@@jackschnabel856 As much as I dislike Venti no offence, I highly doubt he took part in the Genocide. He's the god of freedom and literally doesn't give two shits about his godly duties. I think he might like the idea of a civilization made by humans and not with the help of gods. I doubt he had a malicious side either. Its possible Celestia forced them into wiping out Khaenri'ah. However, there are some Archons that I think did took part in the slaughter willingly but this can only be speculation; Zhongli, Baal & Murata all seem like possible candidates.

The abyss is full of creatures Teyvat has never seen nor fought before. Childe is living proof of that. His final boss fight form uses Abyssal energy and powers. He learned from being in the Abyss for months. He was taught by a person named Skirk described as female. She was living in the Abyss and still is. She taught him the power of “ Foul Legacy “ the power the Abyss has invented to tell the gods of Celestia. It’s a power that even the Archons couldn’t beat 1 on 1. Raiden May have more of a shot than any, but he was taking it easy on us in the Liyue boss fight. Were he to go all out he can ups kill all archons and maybe Celestia. That is why Skirk taught him my friend believes. That blood lust and thirst for combat he has. The drive to fight powerful foes for fun because he likes a challenge. In his voice lines after ascending him to friendship lvl 10 he speaks about his time in the Abyss a bit and he mentions the monsters he fought and how strong they were even for him when using Foul Legacy. He said one defeated him again and again and he still wants to go back to face it again and win one day. If monsters stronger than him live in Abyss, they could easily be more of a threat than any archon has ever faced if sent in a coordinated attack under Lumine or Aether’s control and command. The Archons would be forced to ally against her and even then I surmise that would not be enough without the traveler’s intervention. I don’t believe that Tartaglia/ Childe would help the Abyss destroy Teyvat. He loves the Tsaritza and would die to complete her will, he’d fight for Teyvat I believe, but he would fight Celestia too. The Tsaritza and Schneznya want to destroy Celestia. Fatui want other things as we’ve seen. But that is why Tsaritza cut ties with and has begun her war against the other archons. She thinks them to be puppets of Celestia still. Mikoto fought against Celestia to protect Khanrea ( I cannot spell it sorry lmao ) but I don’t think the Tsaritza knows the other Archons are starting to try severing ties with Celestia too. Raiden Shogun Ei cut ties with Celestia after Mikoto’s death. I think that an alliance between Archons and Abyss to destroy Celestia is almost plausible too, but I think it’s not gunna that way at all. They’re going to fight until they’re at a cross roads. One where the fighting seems all for nothing. I know it. Especially how the sibling talks about “ Once you reach the end of your journey, you’ll finally see the true nature of this world. “ probably meaning that it’s struggles are pointless and not what they seem. While the lower rank fatui didn't really attack citizens like the fat guys with guns. While the others just work basically for negotiations and stuff. To be honest if you really think about it, Venti doesn’t really give any fs about his godly duties and basically just says that Monstadt is a free nation - ruled by the humans. Whereas for Zhongli, he willingly parts with his gnosis and keeps saying that divinity is no longer needed and that mankind is practically running the city at this point. Zhongli is the god of contacts, wealth and commerce etc which means that he’s practically the god of mankind 😂 Celestia probably already knows that some of the original archons wouldn’t agree to the destruction of Khaenri’ah and so therefore they planned ahead and made a contract with Zhongli since they know that Zhongli will stay by the contract. The deal however for the contract is the bigger question. What was the contract about? Could it be that celestia will threaten the people of Liyue or anything else that’s personal to Zhongli - who knows. ( so maybe they’re forced to do something bad ) Venti in the other hand, may reveal somethings but not everything. The other archons are still ruling their nations by under their hands so maybe some of the archons agree with Celestia’s motives.

the thing is that the Celestial Gods are always watching and everyone else, other than the Cryo Archon, does not want to face the wrath of the Celestial Gods. Even Venti said in the prequel manga that the Celestial Gods are not only more powerful than all Archons but also more cruel as they don't really value the life of people living below Celestia.

I saw a manga when Vnessa talks to Venti about Celestia . Venti looks afraid of people/gods of Celestia . I think the Gods are forced to destroying khaenri ah in that time .
My headcanon (TL;DR below) is that the Archons are not really agreeing with Celestia. In the manga Venti always changes the subject whenever he gets asked about Celestia. And now Zhongli says he signed a contract to not speak about the fall of Khaenri'ah.
Not to mention Zhongli gave his Gnosis away willingly in a contract with Tsaritsa and says that the balancing factor is to be discovered in iur future adventures. It could be that the Gnosis is like a mind control thing used by Celestia to rule Teyvat, with the Archons being their hands.
It could be that Both Venti and Zhongli agrees to help Tsaritsa rebel and overthrow Celestia, and giving humans their time to grow. Zhongli and the adepti agreed that in the current time, humans are far more advanced than they were millenia ago, and that the adepti don't need to micromanage everything and just live as a guardian.
TL;DR Celestia is power hungry and wants to rule everything to give them a sense of power, Archons disagree and is planning to overthrow them with their own ways. Imagine Celestia as the government not wanting commoners to have power or they'd lose their control over us all
I don’t really think it’s mind control i think the archons really did like Celestia a long time ago, since ascending to celestia would be a great honour right? But maybe as time grew on, they found out what horrible acts goes on behind the scenes and the archons having to do some of the dirty work. So Venti not fighting back as La Signora stole his gnosis or Zhongli making a contract might just be the only way they can help the rebellion while still protecting their regions.
The more i see this scene the more i think that Zhongli is telling us that he is secretly rooting for us to find the hidden truth because he himself is forced to remain quiet though i dont think he himself participated in the destruction of khanri'ah because there isnt anything related to his use of geo weaponry in all of the mondstat region (specifically there isnt any rocky formations indicating that the lord of geo had launched any of them there otherwise we would of have had seen those hexagon shapped rocks there as well) also i could potentially be wrong because much of the eastern area of Mondstat is basically underwater which is where i believe Khanri'ah used to be located
If the contract was about if you break the contract, Celestia will destroy Liyue as a whole. This is power above the archon we are talkign about. What if the celestia can see & hear anything? This is big deal & do not say wrong thing
@Ueky Hirazu yeah I believe it's referenced somewhere that Celestia has power greater than the Archons and they all have a contract to not mention any corruption from Celestia, also I don't think they hear and see everything but more so they probably have a way to know only if the contract is broken or not

Maybe they have a contract with Celestia as elemental archons, one that was created before it all began and forced them to destroy Khaenri'ah. The tsaritsa's plan is a "contract to end all contracts", probably getting rid of their gnosis is the way to get rid of the contract that binds them to Celestia.
