If you need context then the short version is that he uses qiqi as child labor with no regard for qiqi herself. Basically a free employee. Qiqi will sometimes be given a task she can't complete and as she will indefinitely get stuck trying to do said impossible task so she needs to be given the "cancel task" procedure which is to go behind Qiqi, hug her and tell her you love her and even qiqi knows that when Dr. Baizhu does it he doesn't really mean it. Qiqi tells us we (the player) are the only person she remembers that actually cares and has shown genuine feelings for her so she tells us she doesn't want to go back to Dr. Baizhu and come live with us.

Also I don't see any thing wrong with the fact that he has some other goal than keeping Qiqi a company (especially given that he has some illness that makes his body weak). Personally, I'm looking forward for Snek boi to become playable, and to find something else about him. I don't get all the hate towards him, and it's mentioning that I keep Qiqi in party all the time.
If you get Qiqi to friendship 6 or 7 she tells us she wants to come live with us and we say yes. She gets super happy and tells us she'll protect us from now on.

It is regrettable so that most do not enjoy QiQi’s presence on account they say her heals are too potent and that she provides zero utility, I would say hogwash to this sentiment however. It is not uncommon to come across the occasional comment that “Diona is the superior option”, or the touting of other four star healers over her, but I say QiQi is a phenomenal healer and Diona cannot come close. On an additional note, unlike most healers that restrict one limited area, QiQi heals shall heal you on the move, and thus it is perfect for those of us whom prefer ranged characters over melee. I would say that with most healers you shall die at some point for a higher price is to be payed for mistakes, with a properly built QiQi, you are immortal❤️🌸
I haven’t gotten up to Qiqi being in the story yet on my playthrough and now I can’t wait. She seems like an absolute delight! You guys did amazing as always! 💙
