    Brian, very good point. I worked for a factory built fireplace supplier/installer, and we had a granite surround installed with the wrong adhesive, and it literally soaked into the stone and ruined it. Inexperience can often do this.

    I was going to use gorilla glue to seal my faucet kitchen good thing I seen your video my brother used some black glue of who knows what it was like to said over time the glue will will spread and that's exactly what happened I was looking the glue or whatever my brother put looks like black glue and now the faucet is loose. So should I use ultra one? I'm a first timer.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад

      It really depends on the type of surface of your counter top. You could get the ultra to cover all bases. I hope this helps. Please reach out if you have anymore questions.

    Why ever use regular putty as opposed to just non-staining putty? I don't see what the purpose of the putty is that stains when there's non-staining available? Seems like the smart thing to do would be to use non-staining putty for everything (stainless steel, granite, marble, etc). Is there any reason (besides saving $1.50) to use the non staining putty?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад +3

      It is a bit of a different consistency, but other than the price Nothing. So simple and I never really considered that. Always nice to have someone else’s prospective. Thank you.

    I used Stain Free putty and I got grey stains all around my faucets on my white natural stone countertop. I don't know if it was because it wasn't sealed yet (prblably) but now the guy who fix the stains with a lot of work with acetone, told us to don't use any kind of putty, that even the stain free can get absorbed by the stone and leave marks. I'm trying to find a washer or gasket now

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  2 года назад

      I'm sorry to hear that. I will have to do some testing with that. you could go with silicone. that is what some of faucet manufacturers recommend these days.

      @@ThatFixItGuy Hey, do you know if I can use a rubber gasket instead of putty? it is for a sink valves and faucet, I don't want to take the risk of using putty again. I can make a custom size gasket, but I'm not sure if gaskets is the appropriate way to go. Thanks!
