Everyone’s gangsta till Iroh raises his voice
I'm surprised Zuko didn't start crying. Having kindly Uncle Iroh yell at me would hurt.
When the GOAT gets mad, you know you done messed up big.
And yet we've never seen him angry just mildly disappointed
@@Renegadetev1You forget when he yelled ad Zhao when he was going to kill the moon spirit. There he was furious too
On God! Iroh is pure ❤ we all need
This episode is actually the 2nd time Iroh raise his voice. First was to Zhao when he was about to kill the Moon Spirit.
Iroh also kind of raised his voice when Zuko was training on his ship & demanded that Iroh teach him "the advanced set".
Animelon: Did Jet just die?
The whole fandom: you know it was really unclear
Hey, I get that reference!
Iroh and Zuko’s argument in this episode was really cathartic. Iroh has been supportive all this time. But now he really needed to push Zuko into doing the right thing.
He’s still being supportive that’s just the support Zuko needed then
Some animators once spoke about Jet's death being one of the few instances when Nickelodeon censored the show.
According to the interview, the original idea was having Longshot aim at Jet to imply he would hiv him a quick death out of mercy. But it was cut out because it was so dark
Considering they weren't able to make him bleed to show how serious his wound was, jumping straight to "mercy kill" seems like a bit too much for this children show.
@@EwMatiasthey don’t need to show blood to imply the massive internal bleeding that kataras healing couldnt reach. Its amazing what they can pull off without showing blood honestly
@@hermz8616 I mean, sure, but if you have to do that kind of thing, thinking that they would let you have his friend mercy kill him is wild.
My favorite part of this episodes remains the Iroh talk with Zuko under Lake Laogai. The voice acting is tremendous and moving; the meaning of his words deep, yet clear.
Especially the delivery of "I'm BEGGING you, Prince Zuko" (11:09). You can really feel the weight of his words.
And that he's using his royal title, not a more familiar one, as well
I love how emotional you get through the ups and downs, not because I want to see you emotional or hurt, but because you can tell how genuinely attached you are to the show and characters.
AniMelon: "If you do ANYTHING to Appa, I will NEVER forgive you."
Zuko: (Frees Appa)
Does that count as "anything"?
when Aang said "I missed you buddy" it just made me cry.
*Door opens*
Animelon: 😃 👏 👏 👏
Zuko: Expecting someone else?
Animelon: 😡
Absolutely killed me lol
That one was for the audience lol.
Avatar Extras
Lake Laogai
0:54 The "professional version" of Appa was actually designed by co-creator Bryan Konietzko. The calligraphy on Appa's wanted poster reads: Searching for a flying sky bison. Name: Appa. Has 6 legs and weighs 10 tons.
2:48 Toph loves breaking stuff.
4:19 Zuk… oh NVMND. LOL
Jet was the first boy Katara kissed.
The Di Li’s brainwashing facility, is one of many secret, underground headquarters in Ba Sing Se.
8:20 - 8:40 Melon: YES!
Zuko: Expecting someone else?
Melon: ****! ROFLOL
9:54 Melon, you CAN’T reason with a manipulator
10:24 This is the first time Uncle actually sees Zuko in his Blue Spirit alter ego. Although he's known Zuko was the Blue Spirit for a while now
.
10:44 hands down, one the best moments of this episode. Iroh’s talk to Zuko is deep and doesn't want to see his nephew go back to his old ways
.
12:48 you know…it was really unclear…
13:09 This is the only time Longshot talks in the entire series.
14:08 After seven episodes ... Melon’s pain has been relieved
Bonus: 8:28 Zuko finds Appa: "I ****ing hate you!"
15:16 Zuko frees Appa: "Thank You Zuko!" LOL
11:40 I mean, we already knew all he wanted was his dad to be proud of him.
That Zuko thumbnail for this episode is interesting
13:19
"Did Jet just... die?"
"You know, it was really unclear. "
14:36 "Eat him, Appa"? More, like YEET him Appa!! 😂😂
Zuko has one of the best character development I've ever seen, very complex and very human
Everyones a gangsta until Iroh is yelling at them about their destiny
Now you understand what the hype about Avatar is.
Your face watching Appa fly out of the sun was priceless! Such a great pay off moment.
I based part of my D&D campaign on the Dai Li. One of the players actually got kidnapped and brainwashed. There was also a Wererat plot going on, which a Joo Dee fell victim to. The constant appearances of new Joo Dees really sold the paranoia feel to my players. It was great. One of them still has an involuntary eye twitch whenever I say "Joo Dee"
Avatar DnD? That sounds dope!
The mind control stuff in this show horrifies me to my core. Losing control of ones mind for any reason is like my biggest fear 😂
Spoiler
Almost as horrific as a certain bending art, that gets revealed next season; in a lot of ways, that's even worse.
This season is such an insane rollercoaster
Apps after being gone for 4 weeks:
“Ahhh it’s good to be back!”
“Did Jet just die?”
“You know, it was really unclear.”
Yes Jet died. Nick overdid it with the censorship.
"He's lying" didn't hit me as a kid
Although that bargain offer from Long Feng seemed like what we wanted, A) You have no idea if the snake will keep his word and B) Leaving with Appa now without deposing Long Feng is damning the citizens of Ba Sing Se to remain in creepy military survaillance state, they would be barred from coming back and labeled as enemies.🤷♀️
Plus, if they left now, they'd be failing at the entire reason they came to Ba Sing Se in the first place: recruit the Earth Kingdom army to attack the Fire Nation. There is still a war to win, after all.
this episode made me happy & sad at the same time especially when Team Avatar gets Appa back but seeing Iroh yell at Zuko for not thinking his plan through after he found Appa first
2:46 😂😂😂 i freaking love Toph
Always great to see these shows get uploaded. Thanks for all the work you put in and I hope you and your close people have a good holiday
I’m gonna be the first one to call it that Melon’s gonna love the appa part of nightmares and daydreams. Real ones know exactly what I’m talking about
Toph blind jokes are illarious 😂
7:37 😂 TOPHS MOUTH. 😂
The depth of this show goes deeper and deeper all the time. Hang on...the end to season 2 is wild. And season 3 (the final season)...whoowheew
Haha you dropped an actual f bomb at the zuko appa scene
RIP Jet.
One of the greatest episodes! What happened to Jet is really sad. Now get ready cause the finale of season 2 is approaching! ❤😊
Melon Lord. 😂
I'll keep typing this (whenever I watch your reaction), till THEN.
This anime has alot of real life teachings that all of us can learn from. W vid and reaction 💯
Welcome back Appa ❤❤❤. Also the thumbnail interesting chose. Also pay very close attention to zuko side of the story it'll get heavy. 7:16 sokka is a detective so he obviously figured it out. 8:51 a agent of the Dai Li told him where he is and what room
Also, Sonia would be open to the idea of something so outlandish as mind control
Iroh knows its not what Zuko NEEDS- but needs to frame it as what he wants.
13:29 “That’s our first death, from a character that we know of.”
Screw Zhao, I guess…
Zhao was spirited away.
I'm sure Zhou is fine, just chilling in the spirit world with the Ocean spirit, maybe he's got Princess Yue on speed dial
First death? What about Yue... she literally died... Zhao died... both are known and both died
Why do people keep talking about the thumbnail being confusing or wrong? It's from the scene eleven minutes in.
I know right? Trying to gaslight everyone talking about different thumbnails and such
@@silentassason I guess there was a wrong thumbnail that was changed between the few minutes after uploading and before I first saw it.
Iroh, like Naruto, is a master at the art of using your words
Something to bear in mind, this aired on a kids network; so they weren't allowed to outright say that Jet died in the show. But the show's creators did confirm that Jet died from his injuries; but he died a hero, RIP.
It was Nickelodeon, the fact the show is as good as it is is a miracle on its own.
@@n.j.hanson4267 Yep. I wish Korra had been as unscathed as Avatar. I still think it's a great show, anyways, but I can only imagine how much better it could have been if they hadn't been jerked around by Nickelodeon.
Consider for a moment that Lex Luthor is in charge of Ba Sing Se . . . .
Zhao: Am I a joke to you?
Ha, long feng is long gone
Have a wonderful day with Avatar the Last Airbender AniMelon. 🎄🎄🎄🎄
La miniatura era distinta antes de zuko en la cueva como 2 episodios más adelante
14:30 girl what ? Our boy is vegetarian 😂
yeee new upload lets gooo! this part of the show is so good
the show gets better in the later half imo. hopefully u get there soon!
8:22 😂 she got completely bamboozled
Now that you're invested, get ready to enjoy the heck out of the rest of the series.
As you probably already know, this is where the show really really starts to pick up.
The Blind Jokes going brrrrrrr. Shes such a Troll.
Na the Firenatio General died to. And prob. this Archaeologist.
i think you'd get a kick out of "Samurai Jack", it's a classic and it's a great fish out of water story, plus another really entertaining performance from Mako.
Did Jet just... die?
Wait a minute... did jet just die!?
I can't wait for season 3. Season 2 is really good but season 3 is banger after banger once the introduction is done.
Agreed. Everything after the painted lady is a banger.
Hi Melon
This episode is fantastic
Zuko and Iroh talk under lake Laogai is my favorite moment between these two characters
Jets Deaths was so sad he wasn't perfect but you could see the pain he went through
Appa return is a very happy moment because he's a big part of Aang family
And Appa take down of long Feng will never not be funny to me
It always grosses me out how the Avatar community is so dismissive of Jet. They always default to he's a big bad terror-guy (youtube) and just end all thought at that because like most humans avatar fans are fools that default to power with power being held by the narrative in this instance. You can't praise Iroh and Zuko while at the same time condemn Jet without being an abject simpleton.
Jet is no different then what the allies did during ww2. The allies bombed German dams killing many civilians.
It wouldn't be a fandom if there wasn't hypocrisy everywhere. Even the most wholesome shows still end up with toxic communities. You should have seen the sheer vitriol in the My Little Pony fandom. The show was literally named "Friendship is Magic," yet there were still plenty of people more than willing to crucify characters for making mistakes.
You'd think when a show like Avatar has moral complexity as one of its main themes and even has an episode that directly parallels the character arcs of Jet and Zuko, people would be more forgiving towards him. Maybe realize that he's not a bad guy and is simply an extremist trying to do what he thinks is right. But no. Jet's just a one-dimensional villain, and we're all better off with him gone, I guess.
Everything about Jet is good, except the extreme methods he goes to fight evil/avenge his dead parents. As Aang said "you're a freedom fighter," that's his character in a nutshell. In this episode, Jet isn't fighting the fire nation, he's fighting the agents of Ba Sing Se, the Earth Kingdom, HIS homeland (I think). He isn't just an agent of revenge, he opposes evil and tyranny. He's a hero, just one who's so wounded and zealous for his cause, that he gets carried away. After his debut episode in Season 1, we have every reason to believe that he tried to redeem himself, he moved to Ba Sing Se with 2 of his freedom fighters, saying he made mistakes he's not proud of, but he wants to make a fresh start, a new life in the city, and leave all of that behind him. We are predisposed to take the side of Iroh and Zuko when Jet conflicts with them, but Jet is right! They are firebenders, royalty no less, and there's no reason to assume they're good people with good intentions. They could be spies sent to infiltrate and conquer the Earth kingdom for all he knows. At first he said "I'm just going to collect evidence, then I'll report them to the police." Of course, in the end, he got so carried away that he snapped and just straight up accused them in public, then attacked them when his plan failed. The tragedy is that such a heroic person could be so traumatized by his past that he is willing to hurt innocent people in the name of "justice."
YES, REALLY
I believe u hv posted with the wrong thumbnail
Did Jet die.... you know it was very unclear lol
Hi didnt you watch dbs super dragon balls or ultra god mission that would be worth to watch
😃
Iroh finally sees what Zuko needs. Zuko is not in a place in his life where a cushy service job will make him happy. He is right when he calls out Iroh. A tea shop is Iroh’s dream not Zuko’s. But Itoh is right when he yells at Zuko. Being gentle and patient isn’t working. And he finally breaks through Zuko’s walls.
Wrong thumbnail 🫢
The thumbnail confuses me
Yeah me too. I'm pretty sure that's the season finale
Changed it. Ty!
katara bitter and jelly.
