Jared, I do this at times, especially with driver. When a person does this move is it because they have too much weight at setup on the toes or heels? Thanks
Thanks Jared, you have a video of me you did when you were out with your back. I was hitting driver and your main comment was that my shoulders were too flat and that the club was as well. They all seem somehow related but I just can’t tell where the underlying issue starts. It doesn’t seem natural to me to get my shoulder plane more under my left shoulder going back as it should. I think the weight going to the toes on the takeaway is spot on, don’t do it all the time, only when I need a good drive and I start the standing up and ball goes dead right mostly. Thanks for your help, hope your back is better.
James, you probably have one of these two faults. Weight goes to your toes in the backswing or you turn too steep/under with your shoulder turn. Possibly both.
@@JaredDanfordGolf many thanks for such a quick reply. To be honest not sure but your idea is a good one. I’ll try to move my weight back a bit. The other aspect of my swing is that some years ago I was advised to shorten my swing and now it’s very short and a bit flat. I’m 67 years young and still playing to handicap 12 but recently frustrated by the number of poor shots. Appreciate your reply and enjoyed your video😊
Do you think this could be a cause of overswinging? I’ve started a process to shorten my backswing and get rid of early extension. If my back leg is losing posture and my hip is going farther back than if I turned against my leg, maybe it’s giving my arms more room to get back there?
Your back leg should lose some flex but the key is to keep your hips from moving closer in the backswing and of course in the downswing. Keep you shoulder tilt. That will shorten your swing automatically for most.
Makes sense. I've always played my best golf with the simple swing thought of transferring my weight to my rear heel.
Excellent tip. Immediate fix for my backswing. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. You just cured a fault I have been carrying for years.
Glad to help 👍
I do this - going to try this drill - thanks from Australia
Good video. I'll give this a try 🙂
Great Advice
Nice vid, thanks.
Very good
thank you

Usually toes but it could be a result of how you turn your shoulder or hips. It’s hard to pin point without seeing it.

Try some left side bend or crunch to help with thOse flat shoulders.
Video of my backswing showed I actually loose height in my backswing. Get some really heavy and thin shots

I noticed on camera that the right/trial heel lifts during the backswing… I might have this issue
