Hello talented lady Louise! Let me tell you again that you are a wonderful lady artist! I wish you creative inspiration to create new beautiful pieces of art! You are amazing in your creativity! With oceans of admiration for your talent, yours, Mr.Hi!
Thank you so much 🩵Mr Hi! Your words of encouragement are boundless and truly appreciated. And you of course are boundless in your creative endeavors!!😘
Louise, you make beautiful art one after the other. You just keep getting prettier and prettier, especially with the hairstyle. If you're to make a Lion King inspired painting, you'd be world famous.
On holes , I use a piece of the gray gum eraser. I make a tube, stuff it in the hole, smash a bit to fit, leave an end sticking up. Then varnish, resin. When dry, poke out with a skewer! A rotary tool takes care of any eraser residue.❤ Love your channel!
Thank you dly, 😘I think the next time I’m going to not put the hole through, avoid the whole hole problem and just drill through at the end like I do with my CD clocks. Although I think your idea is a great one I might consider in the future if I have a need for that. Thank you!!!
Hi Louise, your charcuterie board was so beautiful - and functional too! What a fabulous piece upon which to present a charcuterie of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments to guests ❤😊
Louis, as always---you have given a very instructive video tutorial, that is complete with information, that anyone can follow and do. I am always ready to hear you give us instructions, like you probably give yourself while doing and learning too. I for one am grateful for your abilities to do and then teach us, more or less at the same time 😉😊 All your work is amazingly talented and oh so informative, and always beautifully done! Thanks as always, my friend...Take care, enjoy!! 🤗❣
Thank you, Jude😉, I guess my teaching style is rambling free thought stream of consciousness, as things occur to me and I do I share. I think it’s important to know the thinking that’s behind the actions so there’s understanding as to what is going on and why. Honestly, sometimes when I see videos where there’s only music and you don’t see what’s going on behind the scenes, behind the eyes, it’s a little bit Frustrating because you wanna know why people do what they do. Especially nowadays.😂😂😂
@@LouiseMcKayArt I agree, with if you don't know what they are doing, how can we know to learn and create? Some "music only" is ok, but most of the time some of us are here to learn "how to" do what you artists are doing, and teaching 😉🙃
I've always incorporated natural items in my brush paintings..shell pieces, small shells, rough gemstones/minerals, crystals, etc., and in some of my fluid ones. So this sounds like a no brainer for mme! Of course I do it in my apartment, my furniture, etc. as well...or have been working in my head on how to do something. I have a huge solid wood, solid wood, square coffee table..and want to make a reef on it! My dolphin collection is in the living room, so it is an ocean room theme. I'm thinking a coral reef with various corals, some rays on the sand type thing.
These are beautiful!!! Love them!!! My husband knows a guy he used to work with that makes these boards and cutting boards. I want to get several for my show this summer!!! Can't wait to try!!!
I absolutely love the functional art you create, Louise! No one else does this - at least not that I’ve come across. And I’d like to add, for those beginners to the bloom technique, this is, in my opinion, a good way to get going. The blooms are smaller like on a coaster and the satisfaction that I get making functional pieces can’t be beat. I’ve made a lazy susan, inspired by Louise, of course and a cutting board as well as a couple of screw on jar lids. I wanted to ask if there is a food grade resin that could be applied to the whole board. Like this one in your video, I only resined the bloom on my cutting board and I have a VERY distinctive area where the resin stops. Yours is beautiful, mine I would like to add another coat on the whole board. Then I’m trying a charcuterie board myself for the next time. My hubby loves the stuff! 😂 Thanks again, Louise! ❤
Congratulations 😘Alice on all of your creations. Is there somewhere where you share them?? And yes, idk why more aren’t doing functional art bc it’s, to me, the only way to go. Idk about food grade resin, I’m looking..
Welcome Marie😘, I’m so glad you’re here. I love working with wood in combination with Fluid art so if that’s something you’re looking for you’re in the right place.💙. Tomorrow I will have a lazy Susan creation coming out!
This is truly beautiful!! With the popularity of all things charcuterie...this is a real winner! Concern about food grade resin/or not, makes me wonder if you could varnish over the resin? Would it dull?
Thank you, Debra, I did reach out to KS resin for feedback as to the safety of their product and this is what they said, “Our epoxy resin is FDA Compliant when correctly measured, properly mixed, and fully cured. However, it's important to consider certain usage limitations. For instance, an epoxy coated surface is not suitable for hot foods or alcoholic beverages and should not be used as a cutting surface. Due to these constraints, we recommend our epoxy resin primarily for decorative purposes. This way, you can enjoy the aesthetic appeal of the resin while maintaining safety and durability.” I wouldn’t imagine anybody putting food over top of the resin portion, but the wood does have a coating of food grade mineral oil. I’m not sure how varnish would hold up over resin, I think it would make it look a little bubbly.
Awesome, welcome Misty. I’m so glad you’re with us all!! I hope to continue earning your subscribership. I love Fluid art and creating functional art with it. Thanks for joining!!😘💙
At least you're not using 2,000 volts to apply it with! If you've ever watched fractal wood burning of charcuterie boards, you know what I mean. At least you're method is safer and more colorful.
Hi Ozwald, yes, I’ve seen the fractile burning and it is fascinating, but you’re right, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near that. I get nervous trying to jump my car if I have to.😂
If you’re new, thank you for being here and please consider subscribing leaving comment and a thumbs up and you’ll get all my future tutorials!

Beautiful what is the silicone mat you use for making your skins
Thanks Lorraine, it’s just a silicone mat you can get anywhere, amazing, target, Walmart… baking section

One more question - are these food safe?
I will be adding food grade mineral oil to the surface where it is not resined.
