    • @bigbangrafa8435

      Well, the cartoon we know as 2003's Clone Wars was made just to sell Revenge of the Sith, and fill up the gap that Lucas decided to leave open between 2 and 3 (seriously, TPM should have been AOTC, and them the second movie should have entirely being about the Clone Wars).
      But the cartoon is only a small fragment of the Clone Wars Multimedia project. The comics and books are as dark or even darker than TCW. Ventress tortures Obi-Wan and Alpha-17 for weeks, Anakin is far more ruthless and violent, Count Dooku has a cabal of Dark Jedi that are complete psychos, and Dooku himself is far more evil and murderous than his TCW counterpart.

    • @Enigma75614

    • @bigbangrafa8435
      @bigbangrafa8435 3 года назад +57

      @Tom Ffrench It's probably because you watched TCW first, human beings get used to anything they see first, It's one of the many reasons why many people hated the prequels after growing up with the Original Trilogy.
      But the contradictions appeared because Filoni decided that he wanted to ignore the timeline and the events brought up by the Clone Wars Multimedia Project, and at that point George wasn't really caring that much about continuity (one of the reasons why he sold It to the so called "White Slavers" years later), so he allowed him to do almost everything he wished to.
      Overall, TCW has made som e things better while completly fucking up others. It made Anakin a likeable character, a true hero like Like was, wich finally makes his downfall meaningfull in Revenge of the Sith. It also brought many new and positive additions, like Ashoka and the return of Maul.
      But the Dark Side was SEVERELY destroyed. Ventress storyline was really bad, Count Dooku is not as evil as he was supposed to be and do not have his army of Dark jedi (who were awesome by the way), and Grievous is a COMPLETE JOKE, and apparently has faced Anakin SEVERAL TIMES before ROTS, when they were clearly meeting by the first time.
      I like to mix both of them in my personal headcannon, building up a timeline with the villains from the EU and the good guys of TCW, this makes everything look better.

    We even see in the show that Civilians and senators viewed and treated the living, sentient clones no better than Droids, so it makes sense that they'd treat them the same way.
    (Not saying it would be justified to commit war crimes or especially genocide, absolutely not. Just saying that it's clear why the Clones were so cruel, their upbringing and life long treatment is why this happened, tragic as it was 😓)

    Of course the core didn't care at the war crimes being committed by 'their' soldiers and state. Because it wasnt happening to them, it didn't effect them, it wasn't happening where they could see it and thus they could ignore it. The core always lived off and benefited off the suffering and exploitation of the outer rim who supplied their higher standards of living at the cost of their own.
    The Rim succeed because of these systmic problems and most of the core citizens had no idea and were turned against them and eventually into the Empire by radical nationalism and ignorance to their suffering. The us versus them mentality can easily manipulate the masses. The reason this is such good writing and world building is because for those of us who know history don't see this as fiction, its just real history played out with a star wars backdrop. Which makes it that much scarier when looking at how far along we are to this

    • @wilhufftarkin8543
      @wilhufftarkin8543 3 года назад +16

      I bet you're a leftist.
      The core worlds didn't need the rim to prosper. They had plenty of rich planets in the core worlds region itself and in the colonies, like Fondor, Kuat, Balmorra and thousands of uninhabitad mining worlds. Keep in mind that just because the coreward regions were the most dense, it doesn't mean that every single star system was inhabited. Far from it. While the rim didn't have as much privileges as the more coreward worlds, the most important reason why it sucked was because it was outside the jurisdiction of the Republic, even the worlds that officially belonged to it. Oftentimes, these systems were ruled by (Hutt) crime syndicates who didn't care about the Republic. That's why slavery was so prevalent in the rim, even though it was forbidden in the Republic. Remember what Shmi told Padmé. Speaking of Padmé, even most planets in the mid rim like Naboo were civilized compared to the outer rim, so the vast majority of galactic inhabitants enjoyed the benefits of the Republic.

      @@wilhufftarkin8543 No, you must be a rightist how you blatantly misrepresent the corrupt capitalistic design of 1st world regions basing their wealth off of the exploitation of the less developed regions
      The Core was kept alive by the constant flow of trade from mid to outer rim. The core had the developed industry and citizen population centers that made up the society of the republic. But they were only sustained by the costant flow of raw goods like food, water, natural resources, and material from the mid to outer rim. The core needed the raw materials from outer rim which were then refined by the industrial sectors in the core to sustain there good living standards.
      Without that trade the core would starve as seen in the old republic era when the mandalorians blockaded the hydian way trade route and almost overnight the core world was stripped of all essential raw goods from the outer rim which in turn almost collapsed the republic if the blockade hadn't been broken by smugglers like Hylo Visz. Almost all throughout the history of the galaxy the outer and mid rims have been given the shorter end of benefits from the economy and even outright exploited by the then growing corporate sectors like the trade federation who took advantage of their less developed status which eventually lead to their separatist succession.
      This is the sad fact of unregulated capitalism, by design it needs a constant under developed impoverished sector to sustain and enrich its counterpart sectors with cheap goods made by cheap labor who can only be cheap due to its lower standards of living which the core always made sure would happen.

    You would play as either a clone trooper and/or an Inquisitor with a special reward for exceptional skill being a section where you can play as Vader on specific solo missions.
    There could even be an option to capture Jedi, for instance you can have an unlockable skill like Dun Möch that allows you to mock and taunt weak-minded Jedi and possibly convince them during the fight that all hope is lost causing them to fall to the dark side and serve the Empire.

    3:18-3:21: I'd argue at least some Clones did care about civilians, but only those that were taught compassion by their Jedi leaders, like the 501st, 212th, and Wolf Pack. However, not every Clone unit was like that, some had a lot of anger and now without anyone to temper that anger they unleashed it on the Galaxy. And even those that were compassionate had that overridden thanks to the Inhibitor Chip. That's kind of ironic when you think about, all throughout the Clone Wars we saw the kind and brave 501st Clones as heroes, but as the war dragged on, more of those kind-hearted Clones died off, Hardcase, Tup, Fives, and so on, and after the war, the kind ones left were turned into mindless killing machines by the Chips. Just think of all the horrors they committed as Vader's Fist. I guess that old saying is true in the case of all those good and kind Clone units, "You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain." Except for Rex thankfully and presumably Echo since his Chip was probably too damaged after what the Techno Union did to him.

    Do you think if the CIS won that people in the galaxy would have better lives than the Empire and that the Jedi would still be alive

    • @ntfoperative9432
      @ntfoperative9432 3 года назад +5

      Well the Republic would probably still be around, remember the CIS only wanted independence, they didn't want to conquer the Republic

      No. Palpatine controlled both sides. He would've ended up on top no matter what.

      @@chrismadison305 i did not advocate for communism, but against unrestricted capitalism where every thing is a comotety, such as living people. I think the ideal system is a balance between capitalism and socialism such as is in many parts of Europe.

      @@oliverschoneck7750 The CIS did not practice slavery, when you have a five trillion droids at your disposal as free labor for what do you want slaves? It is true that the Zygerrian Empire did have many slaves, but they were not part of the CIS but allies of them, so it is not the same (also the Republic tolerated the Hutts, in fact they got along so well that the Hutts allowed the Republic to cross its territory to attack the CIS from more fronts), regarding the free market ... I am also against it, but the Republic was so bureaucratic, corrupt and inefficient that people still lived better with the CIS that with the Republic, an example of this are its capitals: Coruscant is a planet in which 80% -90% of the population lives in poverty while the rest are extremely rich, in Raxus more or less the entire population is of middle class and live well, also remember that the CIS was so decentralized that at the end of the day each planet could do almost what they wanted as long as they remained loyal (that includes having an economic system other than the free market.)

      Officially, no. Unofficially yes. There was even a Separatist uprising on Mustafar led by Gizor Delso. He cranked out his own private army of battle droids and had plans for a new prototype.
