The writers originally planned to reveal it in a second season but seeing that people were confused about it they clarified that each of Andvari's weapons have a different curse. Hervor's curse was that it wouldn't fulfill her dying wish which was to go to Valhalla and meet her sons and Sigrid's curse was different and she couldn't kill the one she wanted to kill with her weapon, like that was her specific curse. Hel even says "Antler will have it's outcome". It could have been better explained in the show itself but that's how it is
“There were parts that were really cool, there was some really awesome stuff in it. There was some weird stuff, and there was some stuff that made no sense at all.” Sounds like every Zack Snyder movie/show ever.
Zack is too horny for Norse mythology He is not someone who cares about source material “It has to do with the kind of stories that get to be told, and if you lose your eye on the ball, which is character,” continued Gunn. “We love Superman." Zack Synder-I had a buddy who tried getting me into “Normal” comic books, but I was all like “No one is having s*x or killing each other. This isn’t really doing it for me.”
Well, clearly this animation is supposed to be for Metal fans, not only to Myth fans. The valkyries been nude and mute, are totally 80's Metal. Sigrid and the way that valkirie acted toward her, is clearly a reference to Sigurd and Brunhilde, from Ring of the Nibelungs,. The blood bath, turned into armor, is another Sigurd reference, but they changed the origin of the blood. The rest is partially inspired by Volsung Saga, Werewolves and dragons included, and partially Ragnarok. I really liked the Vanir, as older gods, representing nature aspects and seasons quite literally. The half naked gods are on point too, referring classical paintings, Baldr been invulnerable doesn'r need armor, and Thor is a hedonist . I like to remember to myself that Norse Mythology was based on oral tradition and songs, and only written centuries later by christian monks, so everything is already an adaptation of old stories and folk tales with a Christian sauce. And that song of Thor was really weird, I agree.
@danieljprado2599 Well not even metal fans enjoyed or even like this show as most metalheads are very knowledgeable in Norse mythology and will basically critique/criticize the show and how it handles Norse overall Writing is still pretty all over the place in terms of character motivations and the story is just not that good.
@@NaquanGreen-zt4gr We can argue that the actions scenes are pretty, but when you look at the closely it falls apart easily. Look, I always gave Snyder the benefit of the doubt and saw his work as a way to support him because I empathize with his situation after the passing of his daughter (Rest in Peace Autumn) but I got tired of the same, the plotline, the same execution, the same story and the same pretentious symbolism.
If you like Samurai Jack you will probably also like Primal, also from Genndy Tartakovsky. Very good and the style reminded me a lot of Twilight of the Gods. The action was good in this show, other than that not much. The plot was pretty laughable I noticed all the parts you mentioned, especially when Sigrid somehow gets to go to Valhalla, and that guy randomly turns into a werewolf. Good for dumb action watch but not much else. Also I am no prude but the over the top sex scenes for no reason also were a bit icky, literally no reason to do that so often idk what they were on
This show has also the merit to make Loki a surprisingly touching character (cf. his real motivations behind his actions and his sad 'rage' when he explains to Leif that he is always blamed for every bad things happening even when he has no part in it). Surprisingly deeper that most modern take on the character.
When I saw loki rbe visibly upset about being the scape goat god I figured someone on the writing team has seen Overly sarcastic productions video on him
I said that too but because I realized now that christians will beat their chests that "See? We told you! We were right after all, and you were wrong!" because they will think that scene was put there specifically to appeal to them... And guess what I was right.
@@kriszgamer0013 I mean, it kinda makes sense given the context. Cuz the Witch was showing Odin visions of the future. It’s just that there was zero foreshadowing so it came out of left field But it seems like there’s gonna be a second season of this show. So maybe Jesus will be relevant to the plot later on? I’m just tryna give Zack the benefit of doubt here
@touremuhammad5983 Was blood of Sue season 2 really an improvement over the first season? I haven't really seen it and I personally don't mind spoilers, I've heard a lot of mixed things about the series especially when it comes to the first season and some of the second season But I'm not really sure imao.
@touremuhammad5983 I don't really think a season 2 is going to help this show, especially if Zack Snyder is still involved in some way shape or form in the writers room BOZ S2 still had problems such as making Hades and Persephone the villains of the season.
@@mimikdm Maybe so, i didn't say it didn't include norse mythology nor that it Wasnt faithful , but the show is well h*rny. Theres a s*x scene or something "h*rny" happening in nearly every episode.
Spoiler Alert! Don't click "read more" if you don't want to be spoiled! I really liked the scene where Odin saw into the future. I love how it portrayed the rise of Christianity and the death of Norse mythology as a religion. I also loved the episode where we get to see Loki's story with his children. It's nice to get an interpretation of Loki that isn't totally evil. His goal of trying to save his kids from being killed by the Asier no matter the cost is very compelling. I also like how Loki reveals his role as a scapegoat god, always being blamed for every horrible thing people have done. He pretends to be an irredeemable villain driven by greed and jealousy, but that's to hide his true intentions of sparing his children from death.
@@akhilprem4265 The crusades were awful there is no denying that. The crusades have long been criticized for being unjustifiable and with good reason mostly because of all the heinous atrocities committed by both the Knights Templar and Muslim Warriors Basically every side committed war crimes and unforgivable atrocities in the name of their respective religions Yet that should not define Christianity nor Muslim religions when it comes to the modern era and later Eras after the crusades had finally ended.
@jacobcox4565 Loki being a sympathetic as he is along with most of the other Norse gods actually being pretty chill (minus Thor) and good really debunks the whole notion created by the detractors of of the show, which boils down to all of the Norse gods are horrible and terrible Like the only one that semi horrible/terrible here is Thor, almost every one of the other Norse gods are not like him.
I would also wanted that he added he wasn't a god in the first place that he was just a Jotun that so happened to hangout with the Gods once and it escalated from there.
I’m not that familiar with Norse Mythology, so I can’t say if any of the mythos in the show is accurate but I was entertained and admired the animation. I honestly want @TheMythologyGuy opinion on the Dislyte game and depictions of different myth figures.
this entire series feels like if the norse saga from god of war was written by the same people who made the greek saga minus subtance and kratos never grew up from his vengeance
I know it will come like a shock for you, but God of War didn't invent Norse Mythology. Also, Kratos grew out of his vengeance in the newer games because he didn't grow out of it in the original games. New GoW games are a deconstruction of the character. Your media literacy is poor if you compare a singular narrative to a narrative that went through many trials and errors beforehand. Maybe in the second season Sigrid will let go of her vengeful ways, maybe not.
@Titanusrex1616 Assuming that this show gets a season 2 as Netflix cancels a a lot of shows after one or two seasons The odds of this getting a S2 or later seasons are pretty low, especially if it isn't in the Netflix top 10/20, which determines if a show is renewed for a another season.
I know im commenting this really late, but i think the reason Ulfr turned into a werewolf was because his pelt was a first wolf, not just a regular wolf. So, when he transformed, he was then a first wolf and summoned the rest of the pack
The Horniness in the show ya If it was a greek mythology i will understand IT'S ALREADY HORNY AND FUCKED UP But I don't think Norse mythology is as Horny For exception of Loki and his ....Horse Love story ..
I think it would be hornier if we had more material, but it's definitely NOT the "everyone does everyone, people walk around naked and half the male gods can't keep it in their pants" kind of horny. As it stands we have Odin having a whole bunch of kids and Loki being irresistible to a good chunk of... literally everyone. And Njord. We don't talk about Njord.
@@sbsbsb6057 It feels like they originally wanted to do a Greek mythology show but chose Norse mythology instead and basically imprinted a lot of stuff having to do with the Greek pantheon onto the Norse mythology.
@@Omerizorman This show is not beating any of the accusations that this was originally meant to be a Greek mythology show rather than a Norse mythology type of show So much is what is wrong with Twilight of the gods is the fact that they use Greek mythology and mixing it with Norse mythology, which just does not work in any way shape or form as the two are fundamentally different The Norse gods and goddesses were much nicer and cooler than the Greek gods who are all a bunch of messed up individuals who looked down on Humanity.
@@Omerizorman They honestly should have just did a Greek mythology type of show, almost nothing in this series is anything like Norse mythology and the Viking history I found it very hard to root for the series MC, simply due to the fact that her anger should have been directly directed at Thor. Despite Loki being used as a scapegoat and is the reason for some of the events in the series it was hard to see Loki as the ultimate villain, because of how accurate he was to the Norse mythology and being pretty sympathetic when's you really learn about his true motivations/reasons for doing the things that he does The MC herself was just an unnecessary collateral damage, yet somehow the show tries to justify her hatred of ALL of the Norse gods and goddesses even though it was only THOR who is responsible? The show has some questionable character motivations when it comes to the main MC and the rest of her party/group Feels like a lot of the problems in this show could have just been solved by the characters just sitting around and talking to each other or maybe having Loki reveal his true motivations to the MC way earlier in the first episode.
So the wolf guy turning into a werewolf, well we have some foreshadowing, we see the Witch doing something to him multiple times, like she is charging him with power or something like that
When you mentioned the unnecessary amount of sex scenes in it... my brain immediately remembered the jokes in South Park with Game of Thrones and George R.R. Martin being weiner crazy abd then i remember that parody if the GoT theme song 🤣
Ditto. Except I dropped this show after the first episode. The show was so desperate to prove how how "adult" it was thar I couldn't take it seriously.
18:00 Actually I think this one is fine. I can't remember the story for exact line to line, but, I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge that Odin already saw the future and knew that Loki's children would bring Ragnarok and end him and his kin. I'm almost certain that he did in fact make it law or at least forbade Loki from fathering children-though whether this was just against with a Giantess or any woman I can't remember. This one made sense and is lore accurate as far as I can tell.
Sigrid is taken to Valhalla because they all have different curses by the weapon. The other woman is not granted entry because that's what she wanted to most in order to meet her children
For a while now, I've wondered what the Thor movies produced by Marvel studios would be like had they been directed by Zack Snyder. So when I saw the trailer for this, I thought to myself, "Huh. So that's what they would've been like."
The story is a mix bag and character motivations are all over the place but I enjoyed it for being this exciting Norse action show and while some of the creative choices are odd or horny, I think they were done to homage more classical themes and images of western mythology
@mlg5had0w34 "good guy" as in "you should root for him"? Yes. At least that's how he was portrayed. "Good guy" as in good person? Bro killed jotuns for kicks, so I wouldn't say so.
Fun fact: Loki is supposed to be similar to Jesus Christ, not Satan. The flyting of Loki is him telling the gods a truth that they don’t want to hear & his death in Ragnarök leads to the creation of an even better world without the pagan gods.
Actually technically some gods live after Ragnarok like Magni and Modi. Technically Baldr could too as Hel told him he could leave Hel if he chose. But yes mostly free of Gods.
Honestly, my favorite part of the show was the MC Hammer 'You Can't Touch it' country version in the 7th episode's opening when Thor wakes up. Would like a full version. But yeah, overall, it was a really weird show. Not bad. I wouldn't necessary call it good, but worth a watch.
Sounds like if they made the calmer moments funny frat boy Norse myth stuff, but the intense action is as intense as it is or as Norse mythology demands, and got rid of the wattpad horny scenes, making the tone a lil more consistent by making it a lil more over the top more regularly cuz it acts more grounded or epic but has silly moments that stick out, it would prob be tighter and more solid and kinda more like Norse myth with how it’s either intense or goofy shit a frat boy would make up. Like simpler stuff with less complicated stuff Zack tries to do when he’s better at simple stuff
Just finished the series this weekend gone and I completely agree with what you are saying. Some good accurate points, some cool creative art choices, some questions and alot of whys with the horny scenes lol once again it would've been interesting to see the writing process of the show. What sad is that a lot of studios have good references and still make these short of decisions.
I didn't like Thor's portrayal, as he was one-dimensionally evil. But did I enjoy Snyder's take on Loki. Very creepy, cunning, but somewhat tragic. After suffering through MCU's poor excuse for Loki for years, I'm glad to finally see a version of Loki in popular media that's like the original sources.
Well, but that perspective on Thor was literally from PoV of giants. Essentially it is same as first solo Thor movie first battle except you see it from different perspective. And also perspective was always in Zack Snyder films. "Magic" described by Leonidas in 300 and with Whole battle actually being a Tale of a half blind Spartan in the first place. Entire Sucker Punch film which turns out to get inverted in the end with made up character interacting with another made up character making them both "real". Tornado scene in Man of Steel wasn't really a flashback, but Lois' thoughts on how it happened as Clark was telling her. "Beautiful lie" from BvS, Bruce wasn't really lifted by the swarm of bats. Also there was no telling what happened Before Thor came to that wedding or maybe On the wedding he was somehow additionally influenced. If he was truly one dimensional he would instantly kill Sigrid at least on two occasions.
Loki’s characterization was great to me. Thor I’m mixed on.. he was one dimensional in many aspects, but they at least hinted that he’s a little more layered, with how he broke down after Baldur’s death for example, or how iirc he did briefly give Sigurd an offer during their first direct confrontation to not kill her in some sense that she denied, out of respect for her iirc. That said they definitely made him a total piece of work. I can understand it bothering people from certain aspects of accuracy and things like that, however I’m fine with it with it in mind that he is intended to be a very hatable antagonist, and man did they make it easy for me to hate him through and through. Loki I very well enjoyed the characterization of. Many layers that stays true to various interpretations of him(the more cruel interpretations and the more sympathetic interpretations that they managed to somehow juggle into one effectively).
Zack Snyder fan here it’s cool we respect people’s opinions we just ask don’t be an absolute asshole about it. Personally I really liked the show, there were a few issues but I still really liked the show and now I’m excited for season 2
18:33 yeah, that was silly Along with final battle ie with Thor NOT just solo 99% and then solo the rest 1% (fully based on episode 1 showcase) Or how they were fighting and then Valhalla warriors came down and they were like "hey, we are breaching the Asgard wall, right? Why not go completely into opposite direction" and as if almost completely ignored Asgard guards which Weren't that fierce but still weren't just droids from Star Wars either. Rebel Moon which was More written by Zack Snyder showed much better logistics and logic of the battle. In fact it is one of The best mass battles in history of cinema, from logic standpoint and that everything made sense most of the time (ignoring obvious plot armor of main characters ofc)
On the other hand. And it's not shilling for TotG but more of a context. I saw a version that Zeus and other Greek gods "were actually" (" " Because I never lived back there and I am not a Greek, and I barely even know native religion of my people as it is, and people lying about stuff that happened yesterday despite overwhelming video+audio evidence) just metaphor for kings. Therefore all of these gods superpower = just a guy that has judiciary power order controlling army/nuke, so like he Can throw thunderbolt at you but not every time and not very often he can do that "publicly" Which is what makes Superman and other classic original superheroes a 180° of this paradigm, they are just 1 person and anonymous one and they can use their powr. They don't need to have any favor with power that Be like Greek Heroes had to.
At least they acknowledged in the show that not all Jotnar are gigantic. That makes it better then most norse shows/games. 😂 Still refers to them as giants though, so that's still inaccurate. But hey, it's a step in the right direction. Maybe one day we'll get to the point where people realizes that the term Giant is wrong and Jotunn the proper word to use.
One more thing Zack only directed like two episodes and didn't write the episodes. Much of the work here is actually NOT Snyder but Jay Oliva (director of The Dark Knight Returns) and Eric Carassco
its a series, not a movie, most of the series have different directors, the only person who directed more episodes was Andrew Tamandl(4) , jay and zack directed 2 episodes each. Eric wrote 4 episodes, peter wrote 4 episodes. was zack supposed to do all of that? house of the dragon season 1 had 5 directors and 5 writers.
@@arkochatterjee5221 yah, you implied that Zack is piggy backing on others, like he let others do the project only for him to slap a name on it, Zack haters finding many ways to discredit the man, shame. whats next ohh i know Rotten Tomatoes, more involved you say? who is at the promos?
@@narem1092 Broo nooo wtf when did I say that. I'm a massive Zack snyder fan myself. I said my point cuz he was blaming all Zack in this video and he clearly has a pre concieved notion about Snyder if not bias. That's why I said that's it not just Zack but Zack and others, because it's a series not a movie. I was highly interested to see his review of TOTG but was disappointed seeing not only did he not like it that much but he also dislike Snyder in general
So about the Jourmmungr i fill the show is using the concept of "proxy" that i see some fantasy stories using this days, you have some huge fantasy creatur elike a dragon or something like that, but they have the ability to create small bodies that are like drones/proxies, i feel the humanoid body we see is not the real Jourmmungr, but something like a scale that was magically transformed to look humanoid or something like that
Either the curses are different, or I believe the valkyries claimed her in the first episode. Or due to her weapon killing a god she already achieved her goal. There are a few explanations for why she went Valhalla.
Honestly ever Zack Snyder project always follow same formula if you see enough of it's you practically forsaw everything that going to happen in the series
13:23 I'm glad you pointed that out because I didn't understand that either and I was yelling at the screen when that was revealed Some contradictory BS
Frigg is always forgotten . And also, by the way, Odin and Freya (frigg) got along. They actually loved each other they're not like Zeus and Hera. I swear I get being creative and artsy with things but come on Kim I would like to actually see a show done beautifully like this really based on real world mythology cuz the trouble is people honestly thinks this is real world mythology. Like no read a book. There's plenty of them out there. The edds are pretty good
Actually, and here's my biggest issue with the show: Why is Thor chasing after Loki? I'm not saying this variation of him is a person that needs a reason to slaughter a bunch of Giants. However, both he and Baldr went to an obscure giant village in search of Loki for a reason, demanded him first and foremost, and then degraded to Thor beginning his slaughter. It was at least an attempt to keep Thor in check and focus on something important besides genocide. I know Loki plays tricks, but, I at least want to know _what_ the trick was this time around. And not only that, but, Baldr is obviously in on some of the machinations behind the scene. He hid the fact that Sigrid and Leif werent dead so that Thor would be none the wiser and therefore they survived. He intercepted the spear and mistletoe at the end meant for Thor and I seriously doubt at this point he didn't see it coming. Far from a negative, I legitamitly think that he's hatching a scheme and is maybe perhaps either trying to become or merge with Christ. As he is basically the norse equivalent of Jesus and we know through Odin that Christianity is coming to replace the Norse. What I'm not sure of is whether he's in league with Loki or a fully competitive player that occasionally disrupts the Tricker's own plans for his own gains. They may both want the same thing, but with different ideas of how to acheive. Back to the negative, no one bothers asking why Loki was hiding in that village. Anvarii points out that Loki is using Sigrid, but, it's barely put forth that the slaughter of her village is just as much his fault and a part of his machinations. Whatever he did, he knew Thor was coming for him. He knew he was going to kill a bunch of people and earn a bounty on his head in some survivors' broken heart. And he was ready to scoop them up. Back to the positive paragrap from before, this just furthers my point that Baldr is in on it to some degree, ensuring that someone worthy of being a tool remained for Loki to grab. Back to the negatives, when is someone going to point out that Sigrid's Revenge isn't the reward Loki offers, it's the product he created for his own means.
Hmmm... think i'll give that one a miss! Did you ever watch the New Zealand series "The Almighty Johnsons" about a family of brothers that are reincarnations of the Norse Gods... surprisingly good series, would be interesting to see your take on it.
My favorite character from the myths is Jormungandr and I was really excited how they gonna implement him in the story . But i was disappointed beyond belief, why make him a humanoid girl and let him be fucked by his arch enemy and leave Fenrir unchanged? Literally nothing would change if he was just a cool kaiju snake , don't get me wrong I liked the actual snake design and the series overall but that Jormungandr stuff really pissed me off
Why did Sigrid give a f*ck that Baldur died? The dude literally pulled a Dr. Manhattan and watched as Thor massacred her entire family and clan when he COULD have absolutely stopped him if he'd wanted to. The characters are so bad when you actually analyze their actions. Why did Thor go to the Jotnar in search of Loki? Why was he looking for Loki? Why was that entire plot irrelevant? Loki is literally chilling within a few blocks of Thor's house half the time, and besides that ONE time the plot needed Thor to, for whatever reason SERIOUSLY search for Loki in mad rage, he just goes about his life like nothing happened. Nothing makes sense. I sat there at the end telling myself, "this is why you have not watched any TV shows since 2021! why did you bother with this?!"... Genuinely, I was confused. Besides Thor's uniquely portrayed abilities, I found no fights that interested me especially during the war where you'd think the fights would be epic. All you get is Loki killing the dwarf, Viking king guy being attacked and dumped, Goldie dying in place of Thor because his unhappy wife asked to keep him alive for a bit longer, Groot and his people fight alongside Loki the same guy who poisoned and killed many of their people, Freya sends away Thor when she had him dead to rights even though he killed Groot and we know she had been planning to kill him with Loki, naked valkyries swoop down and take Sigrid who Loki kills because??? Second season needs to happen, I guess? It's just terrible.
The one thing didn't really like was jesus getting kinda shoehorned in but otherwise it was fun and referenced some rather obscure parts of the mythology
I think Zach Snyder needs a guy to stop him from going to far in a few places. I would love to see him reach his full potential because his style is something I love.
No. Just watch something else. "Needs to stop him going too far in a few places" and "full potential" is an oxymoron Zack Snyder is great because he is Zack Snyder, not because he is by the number director.
@@FirstnameLastname-my7bz dude, the reason 70% of his shit fails or underperforms is cuz he essentially shoots himself in the foot with his writing decisions. God of war sorta ruined thor for me lmao. Every time I see him now I sorta half expect the big gut strong man physique, it's such a strong and logical form for the character. Either way, Thor is definitely the weakest link in this. They went to great lengths to make him irredeemable, but I think the show suffers for that, with something slightly more nuanced probably resulting in a better narrative. Loki is given both good and evil traits, baldr is perhaps indifferent, and Odin isn't entirely off what I'd expect from the character honestly. Just seems odd that the god of thunder would be so irrevocably evil.
IDK if you're looking for recommendations, but there's a really neat norse mythology comic called 'Gunhild' by Fred Tornager about a young fire jotun and her quest to become a god.
If you do it inaccuracy you have to see you do have to sensor pretty much every single inappropriate thing that you have seen. I am looking forward to seeing it.
In some takes of Norse Myth, people view Ragnarök or events of Norse Myth as the death of Norse Myth, where it actively leads into Christianity. So this show seems to be adapting the idea that Norse Mythology will die out as the world shifts to Christianity, which is what technically happened in real life as well
I think this should've just been a limited series with Thor dying in the end. There is a reason Ragnarok had to happen. The old gods were cruel and unjust and viewed themselves to be above all other races. That's why their time had to come to an end. Dragging that out just seems pointless.
I dislike the show. But the weapon curse is not a plot hole. They cause the wielder to meet a bad end. The first lady wanted to be reunited with her children in valhalla and was denied that. Then red didn't want to go to Valhalla so she gets stuck in her version of hell
Hey mythology guy there are some Minecraft 100 day videos that I think you should do an inaccurate review of cause some of them deal with mythologies and I would like to see what you think of them and here is the first one I think you should look at,it is called I survived 100 days as a cosmic hydra by Fozo
So question MG, but have you ever seen The Odyssey(1997)? Feel like that might be right up your alley with reviewing it and maybe breaking it down? A bit it's a 3 hr movie, so quite long, but it's free on YT to watch. I feel like it's overlooked a lot, probably given when it was made and how, but also it seems to get a lot right with regards to Odysseus and his journey home.
It could have been better explained in the show itself but that's how it is
I mean Hel said in the episode "your weapon will have a different curse" to Sigrid so I think it's the viewers fault
Well that make sense
Ah that does explain it

I also loved the episode where we get to see Loki's story with his children. It's nice to get an interpretation of Loki that isn't totally evil. His goal of trying to save his kids from being killed by the Asier no matter the cost is very compelling. I found it very hard to root for the series MC, simply due to the fact that her anger should have been directly directed at Thor. Despite Loki being used as a scapegoat and is the reason for some of the events in the series it was hard to see Loki as the ultimate villain, because of how accurate he was to the Norse mythology and being pretty sympathetic when's you really learn about his true motivations/reasons for doing the things that he does
The MC herself was just an unnecessary collateral damage, yet somehow the show tries to justify her hatred of ALL of the Norse gods and goddesses even though it was only THOR who is responsible?
The show has some questionable character motivations when it comes to the main MC and the rest of her party/group
Feels like a lot of the problems in this show could have just been solved by the characters just sitting around and talking to each other or maybe having Loki reveal his true motivations to the MC way earlier in the first episode.

Yeah I agree. Really enjoyed Loki

Therefore all of these gods superpower = just a guy that has judiciary power order controlling army/nuke, so like he Can throw thunderbolt at you but not every time and not very often he can do that "publicly"
Which is what makes Superman and other classic original superheroes a 180° of this paradigm, they are just 1 person and anonymous one and they can use their powr. They don't need to have any favor with power that Be like Greek Heroes had to.
At least they acknowledged in the show that not all Jotnar are gigantic. That makes it better then most norse shows/games. 😂
Still refers to them as giants though, so that's still inaccurate. But hey, it's a step in the right direction. Maybe one day we'll get to the point where people realizes that the term Giant is wrong and Jotunn the proper word to use.

Literally nothing would change if he was just a cool kaiju snake , don't get me wrong I liked the actual snake design and the series overall but that Jormungandr stuff really pissed me off
They were spot on with the show with the Norse culture
I loved it! Dragon Fight!

The art reminds me of samurai Jack (season 5). If there’s another season, I hope it makes more sense. I think I’m going to play Valkyrie Profile now

That song was a pop version of the rap song, "U Can't Touch This", by MC Hammer, and its inclusion ruined immersion within that moment.
I'll really like an "Every mythycal inaccuracy in Twilight of the gods"
I'll wait
God of war sorta ruined thor for me lmao. Every time I see him now I sorta half expect the big gut strong man physique, it's such a strong and logical form for the character. Either way, Thor is definitely the weakest link in this. They went to great lengths to make him irredeemable, but I think the show suffers for that, with something slightly more nuanced probably resulting in a better narrative. Loki is given both good and evil traits, baldr is perhaps indifferent, and Odin isn't entirely off what I'd expect from the character honestly. Just seems odd that the god of thunder would be so irrevocably evil.
Hey mythology guy, what mythical creature would be the most gracious house guest?
House elves as long as you treat them right. Piss them off at your own risk.
@@madtabby66 More of a roommate than a guest.
IDK if you're looking for recommendations, but there's a really neat norse mythology comic called 'Gunhild' by Fred Tornager about a young fire jotun and her quest to become a god.
I thought Sigrid’s friend was denied Valhalla because she fought against the god.
If you do it inaccuracy you have to see you do have to sensor pretty much every single inappropriate thing that you have seen. I am looking forward to seeing it.
I can't for you to go "Full Mythology Guy" on this show.
I accept it's flawed but I really liked. To each their own though
It was because of balder's death she got in Valhalla to replace him i think
Also a scene where Odin saw they're going to be replaced by Christianity too.
What was up with the Jesus scene?
In some takes of Norse Myth, people view Ragnarök or events of Norse Myth as the death of Norse Myth, where it actively leads into Christianity. So this show seems to be adapting the idea that Norse Mythology will die out as the world shifts to Christianity, which is what technically happened in real life as well
I think this should've just been a limited series with Thor dying in the end. There is a reason Ragnarok had to happen. The old gods were cruel and unjust and viewed themselves to be above all other races. That's why their time had to come to an end. Dragging that out just seems pointless.
I still liked Thor's speech to Odin in Ep 3
I dislike the show. But the weapon curse is not a plot hole. They cause the wielder to meet a bad end. The first lady wanted to be reunited with her children in valhalla and was denied that. Then red didn't want to go to Valhalla so she gets stuck in her version of hell
Not only that, but it could be specific curses too.
Have you watched any of these mythology-based shows!?
Lego Monkie Kid!
Victor and Valentino!
Class of the Titans!
I'm waiting for drinker to give their take on this show been looking for a review for this some weeks now after watching it.
Hey mythology guy there are some Minecraft 100 day videos that I think you should do an inaccurate review of cause some of them deal with mythologies and I would like to see what you think of them and here is the first one I think you should look at,it is called I survived 100 days as a cosmic hydra by Fozo
The show had potential
But i feel like they don't develop the characters so much. Loki is the most developed character in this show
Please do a vid on Epic the Musical
😂😂"playing a drinking game it will be fun "😂😂
Someone got worn out with it. 😂❤❤
In the story episode, the wolf guy said he became a wolf. I didn’t know what he meant until the final episode.
So far the only thing I've seen Snyder did well was the Guardians of Ga'Hoole film.
Please do a breakdown video of all the different gods and creatures especially the goddess of defeat
