It's not Call me Little Miss Sunshine, it's just Little Sunshine, by the way! Also, his voice might sound weird because he is singing through a sillicone mask. Every album cycle, the frontman changes the main character of the band

@@TheWyldesidewithEricClark from what I have seen & read of this band ,their lyrics are terrible and this is one of the most outright satanic bands I have seen in a while ,their hostility towards Christians is intense.
Just seen them live. Quite possibly the best show I’ve ever been to, their stage presence is absolutely insane. Totally my favourite band right now so thanks for reacting!
We are similar! at 56, I saw them for the first time in September (2022). I was flummoxed at immediately and permanently I became a fan. I’m deep in the rat ( ah oooah ahh ahh) hole and sinking. I just love this band.
Strong stage presence from Tobias aka Papa Emeritus IV. Never dissapointed. And this song is great. Love it since the first 20 seconds I heard it . The studio version is another level 🤟 Tx 👻
Glad you tried (and liked) them !! I discovered them 2 years ago when I started playing guitar, and fell in love with their music, imagery, style... I finally saw them live last week, very close to the stage, it was... WOW !! I consider myself very lucky, since despite the pandemic and all the bad stuff that came with it, I managed to see Marko Hietala in his solo tour, Floor in hers (twice) and Ghost... Could have been worst 😉
I discovered this band what feels like a decade ago. But it was actually about 7 years ago. They’ve been far and away my favorite music group. Tobias is my hero.
I saw them pre-pandemic as support for Metallica, and they blew me away. I did know and love them already at that point, but I did not expect just such an excellent live performance from what i believed to be a 'concept act' beforehand. Tobias' stage presence is out of this world, and that wearing a mask. Plus satanic pope figure playing the saxophone? Come on. They are definitely worth digging a bit deeper, extremely versatile, masters of all genres. Try Square Hammer or Faith next. Miasma is an excellent instrumental
Great job! Hearing someone explain why Ghost is so good gives me chills. But you describe Ghost so well. Somehow, they sound familiar, but not directly derivative. Plus, Tobias (Papa) is incredible in his writing. It’s clean, deep, and educational. He uses a lot of Latin references. Look up the phrase Osculum Obsenum. It’s a part of Kiss the Go Goat-a delightfully 60’s influenced song. He uses phrases like that all throughout the catalog.
As many others have written, this band is not tied to a certain style of music, but when the band changes the front singer (the character not the singer) the style of what the rest of the band looks like also changes because they move the music to another era and then their music style changes most often. Now that you have listened to both Ghost and Sabaton from the same country and If you want to try other bands from Sweden, I can recommend Ye banished privateers, which is an 11-man band that plays folk music instruments with a pirate theme (it might be appropriate to listen to one of their Christmas inspired songs as we approach that time of year such as "Sulphur Ahoy" or "Ring The Bells" for example). Another Band from Sweden is Mustasch with the song Double Nature. You do a great job with the way you articulate your thoughts and put it up for your viewers.

The falsetto backing vocals are actually females (Goulettes). I'm pretty sure they tour with eight or nine members. At least two of the members are females. At one point in time the bass player was a female. This live version of the song was cut way short, including the intros, the outro, the solo and the bridge. Probably over a minute has been cut. You should check out the full album version it's much better. Even the official video for this song is cut short.
Ghost is all about the theatrical, never got into kiss myself but alice cooper was my first and then as you mentioned gwar. This band goes deeper than that and the composer, whos also the singer has made a timeline with a sorts of antipope that is just great. also he just puts put the music that he wants to make
Glad you enjoyed the song, though like others have said, it was cut down for this performance. If you want to listen to another song off the album, I'd recommend Kaisarion, Spillways, or Griftwood (Ghost did upload a live performance of the first two songs on their RUclips channel). If you'd like to see a song performed live, I'd recommend this video of one of their older songs Secular Haze from about 8 years ago ruclips.net/video/RGnpGWl0Hhk/видео.html Also that other commenter was wrong. Not counting Papa Emeritus, there are 8 band members that make up the current touring band. Three of them are women. Two play the keyboard (and one of those two also plays the keytar) and do backup vocals. The third is also backup vocals and plays miscellaneous instruments.
Look Ritual, Elizabeth, If you have ghost you have everything, stand by him, he is, year zero, zombie queen... Many beautiful songs and albums. HAIL! And singer of GHOST is born at same date like me 3th March.
Great reaction. Know that this version was edited down for time consideration. The album version is better. But the band is amazing. On tour they go with a 9-piece to include all the supporting background vocals, keys, etc.. They are rooted in 70's rock/metal (Blue Oyster Cult, Sabbath).
As you hear more Ghost, you will come to realize that Tobias is a brilliant composer. Swap out the satanic/religious references for more standard lyrics and you would have a pop hit machine.
The album version is a bit longer, which suits the song. Gives the different sections a bit more room to breathe - for example the intro which really presents the main riff even better. There's also a longer guitar solo that's actually really melodic and well done. Also it's just so well produced and sounds fantastic with the earphones on. Overall I agree with you though: That is a great song.
I wouldn’t call Ghost metal. Seen them live last Friday and it was great. Seen them a few times. The show kept growing. Even with the masks, they connect very well with the crowd (I was right up front) had fun and it teanslated to the crowd. I like Ghost, very relaxing. Best track of the new album for me is Twenties. Great retro style
This band is fun to watch and they have great songs. They like what they do and they are good at what they do. I don't understand the sneering they get from many metalheads.
Mr Clark great, level headed review. As always. Like I said to you when you went down the Nightwish hole, Ghost really don't have a *bad* song, but because the bend and blend genres so much there are some songs that appeal to some more than others. Pretty much have at it :) If you decide to do Year Zero, the offical video is a bit NSFW, but there is a good live studio version ruclips.net/video/hTYG2LY9Y8g/видео.html If you want proper live live, there is no official live DVD as such, but plenty of proshots about. Papa has been, well since Papa 2, interactive, funny, appreciate and sometimes (respectfully) kinky with the audience. Oh, there was an instance a while back where someone had a medical issue and passed away at a Ghost concert. Papa only found out about it after, was horrified, before they left town set up a fundraiser gig for the fan's family and had special artwork commissioned featuring himself and the guy to be sold for further fund raising.
I really enjoyed this. Do you have any special plans for May the 4th? If you can't find metal versions of Star Wars, could you please react to Peter Hollens newly released version for the theme to The Book Of Boba Fett?
Hi Eric, greetings from germany. Always very interesting to listen to your explanations. My suggestion for one of the next reactions would be the latest song by "Blind Guardian - Secrets Of The American Gods". Blind Guardian is a german metal band founded in 1984. power metal would probably fit best, but I don't like to pigeonhole bands, so just form your own impression. I would be interested, how well known is this band in the US?

Tobias says in an intro to this song on Octane that he was trying to write an AC/DC song, and this was the result.
