    Firstly, Thank you for the plug for my channel, totally agree that Brewabitrick deserves the 1000 subs. How you fit all this productivity into your day is beyond me, there's hard work and there's this style of commitment, which is truly outstanding, and your upping your game with the new kit, kudos to you Andy, thought my brewshed was running out of space, you have come a very long way in such a short time and your family deserve all the success. Dare I say there will be an extension planted on the side of the brewery in the future?

      You're welcome mate. You've made really good use of the space. Love your temp chamber. I stole my design from Harry and he probably stole it from someone else, and now it passes along to you. It's surprisingly effective! Cheers

    Used to get foamy monsters years ago when I brewed a double kit of Coopers Stout in one go, did exactly the same thing as your fermenter. I just ran a length of hose from the airlock bung into a bucket full of sanitiser, did the job perfectly.

    Your gonna love the door to dig grain out compared to how you currentley do it
    Your air lock i just keep a couple blow off tubes ready to go and a few spare buckets with some pa in swap em out first few days until it dies down you end up with some shit on floor but at least you dont get a manky fv.
    Im looking forward to the future brewdays on the new kit

      When I first started using these FV's I had a blowoff set up. I realised that my usual brews don't go too nuts so I could get away with an airlock. It's been faultless until yesterday. 48 brews all good. 49 and we have a monster on our hands. Cheers Ivan.

    Looks like its working well Andy i have a Duofiller ready to go and i sold my cannular ive decided to invest into better quality equipment as my business plan moving forward is just going to be cans so ive bought a 1bbl SS brite that Martyn kindly left thought he would of bought all three i got lucky. Ive also got lucky and bagged a Gorilla can seamer which will be more consistent with the seams on cans. Filler ive swapped the duofiller for a xspressfill 4500c looks very complicated but should do a better job once i get some testing out still building at the moment. And i just found out a pallet of cans weighs 500kg that should be fun getting them around the rear lane of my garden.
    100% CLT for pressure purposes and temp get it down to 1-2c with a little pump and get some repeatability on your brewdays 😀

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  Год назад

      I wish I had room for a pallet of cans! You can get them boxed in 24's as you see in the video, from Staffordshire Brewery. Adrian and the team there are a good bunch. Easier to move around, and boxes keep the dust and bits out of the cans.

    • @Pazey1
      @Pazey1 Год назад

      @@FourPriestsBrewery My building is smaller than yours but ive decided to brew on 100 ltr test and 300 ltr system there waiting like i said mostly in cans delivered direct with plans to move it all in building in town with taps and kegs moving forward. ive seen you can get in boxes they are more expensive that way but im gonna get few hundred to start me off until the ramp gets done
      Pallet would be ideally right next to filler with a foot operated pump pedal to burst starsan in two cans before filler for dust/bits removal hopefully have beer for sale before the big C but we still building the area ourselves as builders are robbing around here so gotta have a go!

    A few videos back you mentioned that you may expand the area you sold to via a distributor. Any news on that? I was in Wigan Central at the weekend and mentioned your brewery to the owner and she was keen to get some beers from you when you are ready.

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  Год назад

      Hi, sort of. Until we have the new kit in I couldnt brew enough to take on a distributor. New kit is in the building and being installed in the evenings currently. Spent all weekend on it. Once we are running I’ll go for another chat with them. Cheers!

    Do you use any sprt of anti-foam agents in your beer? (Either in the fermenter or the kettle?) I use hopaid anti-foam in the fermenter and I've not had any issues with krausen blocking airlocks since (apart from an imperial stout but that was more due to my stupidity 😂 2 years on and I'm still finding splashes of it here and there out in the shed!)

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  Год назад

      no additives as I’ve not needed any. Until now. It was overfilled to be fair…

    • @rossacairns112
      @rossacairns112 Год назад

      @@FourPriestsBrewery even they aren't infallible though 😂 But they do offer a little bit of peace of mind when the fermenter is a bit more full than normal or the beer is a bit bigger than what you usually brew. Supposedly helps head retention later too (the hop-aid anti-foam stuff anyway)

    Are you using municipal water to cool the wort? Ours in the Kansas USA area is much, much warmer than 19C at this time. Like close to 30C from the tap. I have to fill a fermenter with water and cool it to near freezing days before for wort cooling to brew in the summer here. Where is the water stored in the UK to get water so cool at this time of year?

    • @Pazey1
      @Pazey1 Год назад

      Our water isnt stored as such, it just isnt as warm here and groundwater temp varies where you live. All my water is basically rain water filters down the mountains up the road stored in the reservoirs and pumped through treatment plant to us. I am blessed with nearly perfect very soft water that i can build to my own specs. I will be building a CLT mainly for pressure and ofcourse temp purposes so i can blast my kettle empty in no time with 1c water.

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  Год назад

      Yes, water comes straight from the street. It's not exactly hot in Cheshire, so it will always do the job, but mostly we range from 10C to 15C water temp depending on the season. And the climate The water's underground most of the time so it's a bit cooler. August weather round here is 18C (mid 60's F) most of the time, and 14C (high 50's F) at night.

    Another great video :) Quick question, aren't the cans a bit sticky after the lid is put on and sealed and the excess beer overflows, I notice that you dry with a towel but eeeeeww, sticky cans.

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  Год назад +1

      Yes they are sticky. It means you can lick them, or even scratch and sniff before you commit to buy them. Genius or what? :). In reality, the last lot I rinsed and I just plain didn't think about it this time. Will end up washing them when we do the labelling I think.

      3 degrees beer, till vent tube beer looks clean ( till transparent pipe connects to SS vent tube). Fine bubble appears while filling at the end of vent tube

    • @FourPriestsBrewery
      @FourPriestsBrewery  10 месяцев назад

      Over carbonated in the keg? Perhaps try to vent the keg, let it settle for a day and try again.
      Keep an eye on the serving pressure too, you need to try to match the pressure of the keg to keep the gas in suspension
