    sooo... what you're saying is that you need to have a basic understanding of business before you start a business?
    Who would have thought?
    The fact that people would think you can just magically have inputs on demand, without storage space and time with inventory allocated to them is mindboggling. The realization that many people would think that taxes and inputs (material, energy, and labor) wouldn't factor into pricing, and that impacts the bottom line, is astounding... and a "brand" is only as valuable as it's projected future sales.

      Yeah it's honestly one of the things I have to bring up all the time when people start going on about "oh no craft beer is dying". No, it's not dying - it's just not a hot new thing and people who operate on "we're just two best friends with a dream" and not a solid business plan are having that catch up with them.
      I'm a restaurant guy and one of the things I always tell friends and family is that making good food is actually pretty easy in the grand scheme, but getting it to customers and having it actually make money is the REALLY hard part. Hanging out with brewers and brewery owners a lot really points to that being the same for beer too.
