    Want to know how to apply beard oil like a boss? Well, I'll show you. There are a couple of tips and tricks to properly apply beard oil. One of the biggest issues is applying too much. A little goes a long way when it comes to beard oil as it has to be absorbed into your skin and beard. It's oil so it oxidizes which means it doesn't evaporate like a water based product. Think of how you can apply too much sunscreen and you get the idea.
    For a smaller beard, one or two drop may be sufficient enough. Where my beard at it's current length takes about 5 drops. Thanks to the reducer I use in my bottles you can easily manage how many drops you want to use.
    The one tool that will help you evenly distribute the beard oil is a quality comb. I use the large beard comb from my website as it's handmade, polished, and won't snag your hairs like a cheap store bought comb. Using a comb not only helps evenly distribute the oil in the hair but also gets the oil down to the skin so it can be properly absorbed.

    A little oil does go a very long way. I recently only used 5 or 6 drops and my beard is slightly thick and not too long and it was like he says putting on too much sunscreen. And the combs are a must. I have a metal one and it rips beard hair out instead of working out knots. So glad I have the pocket comb and moustache comb. Will definitely be buying all my beard care from Beard Baron for a very long time

    How old is your beard in this video?

  • @halfstep67
    @halfstep67 10 лет назад +1

    I have been trying a few things different and having better luck with beard oil. You are right Beard Baron, the best time to apply beard oil is right after a shower or bath. I find that the hair accepts the oil a lot better if my beard is slightly damp. I apply some oil and brush it in then let my beard completely dry before I brush it again. If I wait for my beard to completely dry before using beard oil, it seems my hair doesn't absorb the oil and the oil just runs down the hair onto my face. Then my face gets a over abundance of oil and clogs the pores and causes skin irritation. I can put more oil in my beard when it is slightly damp and it doesn't make my beard or face feel oily.
    When it comes to beards, the rules are never the same for everyone and one must find what works best for them.
    My beard is more white than gray. Before it changed colors, it was blonde/brown/red mix. Now it is almost all white. Before my hair changed colors, it was a different texture being more soft and more absorbent. But now that it is white, it seems more course and a lot less absorbent. I think that different colors can relate to different textures and especially when a man's color changes during mid life. What is your opinion on this? It might be something for you to think about when making beard oils and waxes. Some colors may need a different mixture than others. Something to think about.

    I have kept a trimmed beard for years. Having the same genetic background as Ewan Mac Gregor, both of us look pretty Celtic wild with an untamed natural bush. Over a period my beard was shaped till it suited my profile, full front & sides .To avoid a pelmet effect under the chin, it gets graded till short near the neck. Once a week routine, first the electric clippers, then with a hand mirror (in Good lighting) then a final clipping/neatening with a comb & scissors esp around the lips .
    After showering shampooing & towelling dry, a small dab of coconut oil gets rubbed between the palms,then lightly spread over the top thatch,the beard and trimmed eyebrows. This gets massaged in well & then brushed . Works like a bomb. Deodorised coconut oil to avoid smelling like a patisserie shop!
    By the way your beard is quite spectacular. Well done!

    You wouldn't wanna see how much oil I put in, lmao. First off I make all my own oils for personal use from mostly the same carrier oils that you use and essential oils. I got a few scents going that I love, haha. I'm 10 months in on my full beard and I use a heavy quarter size in my beard and work it down into my skin every day after I shower. I like to saturate the beard and hair follicles. Never had one split end, my beard stays flake free and no coarse hairs whatsoever. I love all of your videos, just stating what I do! Keep em coming dude.

      The Beard Baron Johnny! Got my shipment last week. Super fast turn around, thanks! Just had the chance to experiment with your Wildwood beard oil and comb. Boss Status achieved! The oil smells man-tastic! Im a natural sceptic. So I wasnt entirely sold on the idea. But listened to your advice. Glad I did! My ginger beard has never looked better! I got compliments from my female co-workers on the aroma, looks, and new length! A side effect I wasnt expecting was my beard is nearly as long as when I first jump out of the shower. Without feeling oily. Sure you can get your beard to hang low if you drown it in oil. But I used two drops as the video suggested, and my boss status was realized! Fantastic job! The comb is a must have. After using a cheap one for a couple of months, I can really tell the difference! Not only does it distribute the oil, but GLIDES through my beard instead of tearing at it. Sorry about the long post. But rarely does a product work exactly as advertised. Very happy customer. Thanks again!

      +Brian Freies (BFreies) Surprisingly large beard does not interfere in that. It might be a bit irritating for her if your beard is dry but a well kept, soft, healthy beard wont get in the way of your make out sessions too much :)

    I invented my own beard spray.
    I took an empty beard spray bottle and filled it with a mix of
    - Vitamin E Oil
    - Tea Tree Oil
    - Beard Club™ Growth Oil
    - Water
    Been using for about a week now. My beard is looking pretty good, but it's too early to tell how well it's working out. Hope to see results in the next 30-90 days.

    So I mircowave a small amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and brush it into my beard about once a month. LOL What do you think about that? Am I harming it in anyway?

    • @bYeonios
      @bYeonios 10 лет назад +1

      Hey there mate. I think olive oil's acidity is higher than what you should put on your hair and face and it might actually harm it...

    I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but if i put the beard oil in right out of the shower (towel dried) I've noticed I lose a LOT beard hairs. Now what I do, is put the oil in when I'm in the shower, at the end. Then I run it under water very quickly and then when I get out, I'll towel dry, then I'll put in another (small amount) of oil, and for some reason, I don't lose as many hairs.

    Great combing tips for oil! I recently picked up some beard balm and love how it makes my beard and skin feel. It really is easy to overdue so I was wondering what your recommendation is for an amount of beard balm to apply.
    You can tell me how much you'd put in your beard and then I can make an educated judgement by that. Thanks for all the great videos!

    Should one use both beard oil and beard balm in the day or is it better just to pick one? Great videos btw i seriously benefited heaps from these. Keep up the great work, will share with my friends and on social media. :)

    I really enjoy watching your videos. I like that you provide the history of grooming the beard. People sometimes will associate a long beard with being unclean or messy. Beards can be very sophisticated and clean! I probably have a 2 month beard going but not sure how long I can continue to grow it due to the career I'm getting into as a therapist. This is why grooming the beard is important as well, I can get away with a longer beard if I keep it neat, groomed, and smelling great!

    Really cool that i found this channel. I had continuous trouble growing out my beard past about a month or two, largely due to issues you've addressed in your videos. Id develop a nasty hole right below my chin and i would have to start over, caused in part due to split ends and stress.
    I had complained about split ends to my wife, and she got me beard oil for christmas. Which on top of the benefits for me, it'll be softer for her.
    So in short i just want to say thank you for your vids. Ive learned a lot, and have decided to make this year be the year that i get serious about my beard.

    Got some beard oil from my niece for xmas. Have been using pure jojoba oil (liberally) on a regular basis. After watching your vid., applied the new stuff (less liberally i.e. two applications of 3 to 4 drops each). note: my beard is 3 mo. growth (inc. neck). Really liked the results and scent (vs. pure jojoba). Thx for the guidance. ZenDog

    Hello My Friend - I am looking into beard oils for the very first time and I have a question . . . As a general rule, do men who use scented beard oils then choose to NOT wear any other type of facial cologne, perfume, etc. ? Does using a beard oil replace the use of cologne or perfume? Thanks for your help and thanks also for the informative video!
