    I personally think an air compressor has to be one of the first things an off-roader of any type should buy. The ability to air your tires down off-road and then re inflate them once on pavement will greatly increase the off-road capability of any rig!

      Prepperjon you should try it. Airing down not only gives you more traction so you do less damage to the trail, it also gives you a better ride

    Picking 5 is tough, but definitely as you noted an air compressor is essential. I'd also have to say recovery equipment, basic tools and a first aid kit are all essential. These wouldn't be used as frequently, but are vital to have when you need them.

    Thanks for great video , in my opinion Sleeping bag is also important even if your not planning to stay overnight in case you got stranded.
    Also, if you are driving a automatic transmission like my Niece, and listening to music for 2 days like my niece, and not turning car periodically like myyyyy niece. You would be stranded in desert with no reception.So then , that battery pack you have offered would be great if it comes with jumper cables for car batteries. It's Little bigger but has multiple functions . My choice was "SYSTEMA" but there are many good once there .
    Oh BTW she is ok we found her after a day . 😂

  • @Noises

    I was just out doing some B roll today, pulled off a sandy trail near a river to set up a tripod for a static shot as I drove through a river crossing. Camera and tripod set, I go back to the car to find the back tire has slipped into a deep hole, the angle is so steep the front drivers side tire is in the air. I parked it level but the side of a hole caved in. No problem, Whipped out the recover tracks I ALWAYS keep in my car, put on under the tire with the most weight on it (the one in the creek) one on the opposite side, hopped in, turned the key, drove it right out. Didn't even air down. Recovery tracks. my number one gadget for offroading. No moving parts, no batteries, you could argue they're not even a gadget, but I'd argue having a drone or USB fan with me would have been zero help to me today, no matter how good the camera is or how many days the fan could run on my battery pack.

      I don’t if they are available for all areas but here in Oregon I use paper maps made by Ram maps. Technically they are for WMU’s which is Wildlife Management Units. They have an extreme amount of detail all the way down to trails lol. Actually better than GPS because they include everything in a given area.

    Instead of an iPad with a cellular chip, you can also get a Garmin GPS fob with Bluetooth. I link a few devices up to it, set it way down in the front window, where it gets the best signal, and it's much more accurate than the iPhone or iPad GPS receivers. :)

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  4 года назад

      Yeah there are a few options if you have an iPad without GPS that are better than selling it and buying a cellular version. I’ve personally never had an issue with the accuracy of the built in GPS, so if someone was buying new, I’d personally recommend just getting built in GPS!

    If you use a cooler I'll give everybody a suggestion. If you have a big freezer get like a 2 and a 1/2 gallon bucket and fill it 3/4 of the way full then freeze it. You will have a better block of ice then you can buy anywhere. To get it out of the bucket all you gotta do is turn it upside down in your sink and run just a little bit of hot water over it and it will pop right out.

    If I’m parked at a camp spot for 3 or more days and don’t run my truck at all how do I power the fridge? How much power does it need to run for 24,48,72 hours?
    Also I should say solar doesn’t work where I camp because of tree cover and inclement weather.
