- Just doing a video that was requested by one of my viewers. I do hope that this answers even one of the questions that you may have about the treatment of ground provisions. Many Jamaicans enjoy the foods from the earth so to speak so I hope you all will like my video.

Give thanks YB I am a JAMERICAN Whose mother died all recipes in my family with her. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you all ground provisions I remember as a youth but didn't know what to do with them THXS
deryck McDonald Nuff respect. Just subscribe for all the rest of YB videos!
Ackee, saltfish and ground provisions, it does not get much better than that! In cooking provisions I place in water first the ones that take longest to cook. Leave for awhile then the others placing last the one that cooks quickest. Cooking ends for all at the same time. Same result, different technique.
Y'all just cooked my favorite Jamaican dish. I LOVE IT !!!💚
Glad you liked our video! Please share it also.. Thanks so much!
This Rachelle by the way, it was incredibly helpful and you and your wife crack me up :)
EMPRESSive LoveLifeHealth Much luv to you Rachelle. Glad u liked it!!
As a Jamaican I herd few people call it Malanga, but in my home (in Clarendon) as well as friends and market sellers called it Dasheen🙏🏿
Yes, I grew up knowing it as dasheen too!
I like this but, we call it coco, in the lovely, beautiful Jamaica
Why you say you don’t want to eat a lot of the American sweet potato 🍠! It’s very healthy and full of vitamin c.
Exactly ... in the Bahamas I only saw and used the gray looking sweet potato. Now I just find the orange ones in the U.S.
The orange potatoes make a great juice too. look for my video on potato juice.
Thank you :)
The first provision, Malanga(?).... been a Trini my whole life, eating callaloo my whole life. First TIME seeing or hearing about that provision.
I ain't no Gordon Ramsey but I can certainly tell you we use DASHEEN leaves, not Malanga or Cocoa... unless it's the same thing and we all call it a different name... but, I know Jamaicans know about Dasheen, so I don't think that's the case.
I only know the chocolate-making cocoa.
We do use the same things but with different names! Malanga is the Spanish name for either coco or dasheen
Left overs are the best !💚
Oh yes they are! Comfort foods to the max
I call the froth - soot
Request video 😂
So do you just use water when cooking ? I was thinking half water and half broth for flavor
you CAN BUT BECAUSE WE JUST USE THE GROUND PROVISIONS AS ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE MEAT WE DON'T FOCUS SO MUCH ENERGY ON FLAVORING IT
Yardie Belly TV gotcha ! I’m going to try to make this dish ground provisions
Can ground provisions be cooked in coconut milk? and how this is done?
Yes it can. There is a Caribbean recipe for that. it's called "Oil Down" I will make it real soon.
@@YardieBelly Thank you soooo much!! I hope I will get the notification so I don't mess out.
like your wife is a Guyanese we're the only one use tht wrd..lol love your soup tho
I meant your provision lol
