thank you. it's always funny to see people say you can't do something just because they don't. I guess it's easier to condemn and destruct and to uplift with positive comments and share as a community. Thanks for understanding.

I must admit I've never heard of Ital food before, but this is also excellent for people who must have a salt-free diet for health reasons (heart
problems, cortico-steroids medication (prednisone etc) for auto-immune diseases etc. Many thanks indeeds!

I'm Jamaican - Yes Chris, Rasta use salt in Ital cooking. But they only either use Sea Water or Sea Salt.

Real ital food is without salt of any kind.

  • @caribbeanpot

yes, there are many different varieties of yams, so too the texture and cooking time. do remember that what's usually called yam in North America is really what we in the Caribbean refer to as being sweet potato.

+The25Sister you should add miso or shoyu to your meals, it tastes very good with vegetables, and it's really salty

Chris i'm in desperate need of help. The topic I want to ask about today is Yams. Can yams overboil and melt and simply disappear in a stew? I peeled, washed and cut up about 25 yams to go in a delicious curry stew. I put them in there to boil. They were of a regular size, not small. When it was done and I was looking to share out the dish I only saw 4 yams in total.
I dug into the stew and couldn't find the rest of yams. Do you have any idea what could have happened? did they melt?
