I remember I had a soccer game and after I was subbed out and on the bench, a completely random bee came out of no where and flew straight onto my cheek. I felt something on my cheek and didn’t see the bee when it flew right on me. What happened is it somehow flew it’s stinger straight to my cheek on accident. I pulled it off my cheek and I guess I already gutted it after I ripped it off the stinger that was barbed in my cheek. I pulled the stinger off knowing I shouldn’t just let the venom sink in. After I got a little cream on my cheek for the sting, I came back to the bench and my teamates were dropping the ball over and over on the bee that was already dying on the ground and telling it to do 5 push-ups. Pretty goofy experience but life can be so random.
The blue carpenter bee is actually not very aggressive if you see one don’t disturb it to get stung by these u really have to tick them off like handling them with tweezers if you do want to pick them up carefully gently and slowly put your hand in front of them showing your not a threat giving it the option to leave is also nice for when you pick it up with tweezers it’s no option to leave and imagine if someone’s holding you really tight and no matter how much you scream and kick and wail you can’t leave it’s horrifying but if you were nicely picked up with the option to leave a lot less terrifying right? Also all carpenter bees aren’t too aggressive so u can do the elevator pick up method (putting your hand in front of the sweet honey Floof frien) to any carpenter bee even that giant black one but if it wants to leave let the little dude fly off into the world if you wanna keep it as a pet that’s fine too just remember put it in a big terrarium so it has room to fly plant some flowers in it and have a little bottle-cap of sugar water that’s his food! Take any little fish or small pet hide and also put it in there this will be his “hive” females can sting multiple times since their stingers aren’t barbed if you do see a bee struggling to leave and it’s not too late take the s tiger out of your arm along with the bee attached this will save its life also I have knew found knowledge the males don’t sting! So you can keep him as a pet anyway I’m gonna go look at fence posts ( they chew through wood termite bees!)
I lived in portugal for several years they have a large purple bee there. The locals call it diablo. Never got stung by one but it was impressive to see.
