      Found it very fascinating as well! Makes so much sense physics-wise, no wonder he is able to produce so much sound on that closed slap.

    Once again blown away by his insight. Derek's ability to reverse engineer the techniques he uses and communicate them is improving the whole artform of saxophone playing.

      Definitely very original way to play. Probably the best reed instrument player in terms of advance tecniques( his way to triple tongue is unique). I'd like to know how often change reeds and instrument generralu because his way to play destroy fast their.

    I wonder if the average tenor sax is balanced enough that your right thumb doesn’t need to be on the thumb rest?

      good question! my vi has the neck strap moved so its a better balance
