I just had both of my Flexvolt 6Ah batteries stop working with my 60v brushless grinder. After seeing your vid, I pulled both apart and sure enough the same upper corner plate from your video had blown on one of my batteries. But on the other battery the plate that blew was on the opposite side of the battery, but also in the upper right hand corner, specifically along the top edge in that corner. I've used both batteries with the grinder since 2019, so it has taken 2+ years for the plates to blow. I'm hopeful that with some soldering fixes they will continue to perform.
I had the exact same issue on my 60 volt grinder AND 60 volt sawzall (different times). Both tools had very little use, and did the same thing to my batteries. In fact, my sawzall wasn't even under a load when the tool shot out a spark and stopped. Pretty pissed about it to say the least!
Without testing it you cannot know the condition of the motor you replaced and it is quite possible a burned out motor would fuse a battery. If you had of used a second battery on the burned out grinder you may have fused it too. I only know this because it happened to me. It could be misleading to assume the battery is the villain here.
You are the man...had the identical problem and figured it was the grinder because the battery would still power my other tools.

When I bridge it it just melts everything I put
Are you sure you are tapping into the correct terminals?
Where did you buy the pieces of the grinder?
The motor? I bought it from dewalts website.
Why didn't you just contact dewalt warranty they send you new battery at no cost 🤦🏽♂️
