Bro you have no idea how much you just saved my day.! I just brought home this brand new 60 volt weed eater trimmer and put it on the charger. After 10 minutes it said it was full. But actually I only happen to just check it after 10 minutes. So halfway through my yard it quit. When I put it back on the charger it was showing full. I was so pissed. So glad I found your video. Now it's showing charging properly, now that I've pushed it all the way down. Thank you thank you thank you
Yeah I had the same experience. Except I replaced my weed trimmer, and bought batteries online. No way I had THAT many bad chargers, batteries, etc. They just didnt design this charger in a way that everyone else does. Glad you got yours sorted. Cheers.
I'll gladly join the crowd and say THANK YOU for your video. Just as the battery's not plugged into your tool without clicking it into place, it won't work on the charger without being latched in. Sliding it in gives high resistance on the small connection point and gives the full charge indication I went and looked up the manual's instructions online and the instructions don't provide a note about the false charge indication. The hints are in step 2 and 3 with "fully seated" (engage the battery release button latch) and "push the battery release button." Dewalt manual says: Charging a Battery (Fig. 1) 1. Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet before inserting battery pack. 2. Insert the battery pack (O) into the charger, making sure the battery pack is fully seated in the charger. The red (charging) light will blink repeatedly indicating that the charging process has started. 3. The completion of charge will be indicated by the red light remaining ON continuously. The battery pack is fully charged and may be used at this time or left in the charger. To remove the battery pack from the charger, push the battery release button (P) on the battery pack. NOTE: To ensure maximum performance and life of lithium-ion battery packs, charge the battery pack fully before first use.
Yeah I would give this 1 million thumbs up if I could I sent back my batteries and was about to send back another round of new batteries and your video totally saved the day. 💪 thanks 🙏🏼 so much!!!
Thanks man! I spent 20 mins with dewalt customer service, he never told me this. Two brand new 6ah 20v batteries, 2 different chargers, still wouldn't properly charge. Thanks!
Cheers pal .i bought a 18v Brushless drill with charger and Bats at 2pm, was going to take it back but listened to your advice and now charging intemit not just Red like you pointed out.TFFT LOL
What most of the rest are saying ... Thank you for this. I was scratching my head ?why? my new charger with 2 batteries would not charge .. neither battery. Just seemed to bizarre to be true. And it was. thank you again!
Thanks, just saved me a warranty claim and having to send a new battery back. I knew something was up when I bought a whole different item at home depot and had the same thing happen on both batteries on both chargers. RUclips to the rescue.
I, like everyone else love you! Thank you! (before I watched this, "why does this always happen to me? All this money on a battery that doesn't work") 🙈 😅
Yeah, already returned one and couldn't before I went back to HD today to raise a stink I thought I should check here. Thanks for saving me the time...
Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you, I bought a set and return them because they were acting up and wouldn't charge and then the new ones were getting me the same problem but when I pushed hard and got the second click they seem to be charging properly now you're kind of stupid but they seemed like they were locked in before, so thank you very much
Bummer, I was hoping this was going to fix the issue. I even smacked the back of the battery, but nope! It appears that I may have a bad battery pack. I'm told I can take it by a service center and they will give me a replacement. Hope that's true. But great video! Thanks!
No Problem. I figure the main issue with this charger is almost every other charger you use wont blink or light up if its not properly charging. This one however lights up the second you barely rest a battery on it. So thats part of the confusion. Cheers.
Thank you, I spent hours trying to find out the problem. Why the heck doesn’t the instruction manual indicate this is beyond me. I should have known because I had the same problem with a Milwaukee I bought just yesterday, figuring it out only hours later. Why I didn’t think of the same solution for the a DeWalt I can’t explain, maybe I didn’t expect two manufacturers with crappy instructions.
Did not work for mine. Because it was not a battery issue. Turns out that these packs have a "fusible link" inside. Mine burned in two. Apparently, it got very hot and melted the inside plastic as well! Can't find any video to show this. Looking for a replacement has turned up nothing.
wow I was about to phone Dewalt and rip them and rip them a new one. lol I thought what are the odd 2 new batteries were duds thank god I found this video.
What if its a brand new battery and the charger doesnt light up at all? Tester on the battery lights one light, put the battery in a tool and the tool will run, but if you put it on the charger nothing.
Thank You so much!! Stupidest thing ever. I got 2 new batteries that would not charge then got 2 more and same thing. All I had to do was shove them down firmly onto the base. Wow! Why would Dewalt change the rules without a notice on the package.
That is an absolute Top Tip! Thank you so much. I did the same as 8MADJACK below. If the seller's customer service had known of this issue, it would have saved them giving me 2 new batteries.
Glad the video helped. I was really perplexed when I exchanged several batteries and I was like.... There's no way this many batteries from this many different batches are all defective.
This man just saved me jail time. I was about to storm a DeWalt store during quarantine to find a new battery. Thank you, sir.
MarkyTwoSleeves same here! I was cussing DeWalt and their junk batteries! Than I watched this video. Thank you.
@@joshbarrett2980 same I made a video slamming dewalt but i didnt upload it thankfully.
Finesse Beats haha they still need to put this in their info. Imagine the 100’s of people who threw their batteries away before they knew this!
I did storm the store, demanded new batteries. Got them. Only to have the same damn problem. Was about to go postal, glad I found this video
You sir just saved me a trip to Lowes. Much appreciated!!
I was about to loose my shit, I thought I had bought three dud batterys in a row

Thank you! Thought I was going insane but your vid saved an unnecessary return of the battery.
Omg!!! Thank you for this - thought I was going crazy!!!
Yeah I would give this 1 million thumbs up if I could I sent back my batteries and was about to send back another round of new batteries and your video totally saved the day. 💪 thanks 🙏🏼 so much!!!
Omg best RUclips video ever. I already took the battery and charger back thinking something was messed up. Thankyou so much
What a helpful video! Saved me from stupidly returning two new Dewalt batteries 👍🏻
Thanks for posting! You saved me a trip back to the box store!
Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video.
Thanks man! I spent 20 mins with dewalt customer service, he never told me this. Two brand new 6ah 20v batteries, 2 different chargers, still wouldn't properly charge. Thanks!
Thanks, one of the most helpful videos
Thank you. I found your video trying to figure this out. I appreciate it.
This is exactly what I was looking for!!
Thanks! I was about to take the whole lot of my new DeWalt Stuff and exchange it for Milwaukee.
I just bought two new 20v 6ah batteries. One bar, but wouldn't charge. I did it, and it worked!
Glad to help
Thanks for the information on the charger. What is the clear space or box for to the right of the red light for?
I forget. the manual has like a little diagram
Just solved my mystery with brand new 20V 6A battery! I never needed to push/click with 2A battery. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I was having this exact problem. Battery is charging now.
Thank you so much! I thought I had to go and buy new stuff already.. had barely used them at all!
Thank you so much. This solved my problem as to why my brand new deWalt battery wasn’t charging.
Cheers pal .i bought a 18v Brushless drill with charger and Bats at 2pm, was going to take it back but listened to your advice and now charging intemit not just Red like you pointed out.TFFT LOL

I cant believe I was pressing the battery down. thanks man
Sir you are a gentleman, you’ve saved my sanity. The new battery nearly exited through the nearest window!!!
Yeah when I made this video I had already exchanged the battery I had. There was just no way that many batteries were bad
Thanks for posting! Really helpful.
Thank you it saved me a trip to the hardware shop.
I, like everyone else love you! Thank you!
(before I watched this, "why does this always happen to me? All this money on a battery that doesn't work") 🙈 😅
This has been annoying me all afternoon. Thank you!
Just saved me a big headache my friend. Thank you!
Love this video, saved me from insanity
Spot on!!! Thanks for the help!
You're a good man, thank you sir
Thank you so much for this. I was very frustrated trying to get new batteries to change. The very little documentation was not at all helpful.
You saved me!! Thank you!
I'm glad i could help.
Yeah, already returned one and couldn't before I went back to HD today to raise a stink I thought I should check here. Thanks for saving me the time...

You just saved me one angry customer support call brother!
I’ve never considered myself stupid but crap I’m so dumb. Thank you for this!!

Thank you it worked 🤠👍🏼
Just save me alot of headach and a very bad day thank you so much 😁
thank you, 2 clicks who would of thought other 2ah batterys just pretty much sit on it, the 5ah push until 2 clicks and blinky, thank you
Did not work for mine. Because it was not a battery issue.
Turns out that these packs have a "fusible link" inside. Mine burned in two. Apparently, it got very hot and melted the inside plastic as well! Can't find any video to show this. Looking for a replacement has turned up nothing.
Awesome! Such a stupid thing but was driving me insane!
Thank you . 😊. I was about to contact DeWalt
You saved me from having to assembly two batteries, a charger, and a bag and send them back across the country!
How do you know when it's fully charged does it turn green?
It stops blinking. And you can always check the charge status on the side of the battery with the little button
Is it ok to leave the battery on the charger , it wont over charge or damage it ? Thanks
Yeah it should stop charging when the battery is full.
You're a blessing
Same reaction here. Thank you for making this video.
wow I was about to phone Dewalt and rip them and rip them a new one. lol I thought what are the odd 2 new batteries were duds thank god I found this video.
Cheers Larry.Been like Dumb and Dumber since 3pm uk time.LOL
Yeah I called support. Even they couldn't figure that one out so I posted this video. Lol
WTF - went through three brand new batteries before discovering this video
Yeah I thought I was crazy at first too
Thank you for this! I just got one of the new 60v batteries and it wasn’t taking a charge. Was about to pack the whole weed eater up and take it back.
i feel like im a dumb ass right now thanks man
What if its a brand new battery and the charger doesnt light up at all? Tester on the battery lights one light, put the battery in a tool and the tool will run, but if you put it on the charger nothing.
Might be dead then
After the light is blinking, and the battery is fully charged what will happen to the light , stay solid red , turn green or shut off ? Thanks
The light should go solid when its done charging.
Damn ya need more Subs Likes views, etc cause ya helpsome and make good videos. Keep up man

Thank you so much! I was about to pull my hair out trying to get this battery to charge. You saved me!

Had this exact problem! Sorted
Thank You so much!! Stupidest thing ever. I got 2 new batteries that would not charge then got 2 more and same thing. All I had to do was shove them down firmly onto the base. Wow! Why would Dewalt change the rules without a notice on the package.
Problem solved. Thank you!
Cheers
Much appreciated!!
Yeeessss it worked! I did the b+-b- wire and that didn't do a damn thing.
Thank you!
CHEERS PAL.
I have Same problem and battery didn’t charge
Found out the hard way too!🤯
Thank you so much... Not intuitive of them. Shouldn't blink at all unless it's properly seated. Anyways, thank you again!
Thank you!!!!
My man!!!
THANK YOU
That is an absolute Top Tip! Thank you so much. I did the same as 8MADJACK below. If the seller's customer service had known of this issue, it would have saved them giving me 2 new batteries.

This is the worste platform of batteries ihave ever seen
Thanks!
I was seriously going crazy….thank you l!
Glad the video helped. I was really perplexed when I exchanged several batteries and I was like.... There's no way this many batteries from this many different batches are all defective.
