Kai is IMO next to Neil Peart as the "Professors of Drums". Kai even officially teaches Druming
well he is the drummer for Nightwish now after he has shown how good he is with Wintersun.. ;)

this is one of my most favorite songs and you should also hear Sons of Winter and Stars which has real epic Viking metal type vibes and is also gorgeous

Jari was in the band ensiferum...wrote some of the best songs in that band....check out sons of winter and star.....finland bands totaly changed my life with their lyrics n music....thankful for that

@@alexraj2059 omg I love kalmah and dissection! Dark Funeral is awesome as well. Never been a huge fan of children of bodom they are abit too commercial and poppy for me. But RIP such a shame dude passed away so young!

The singer was a guitarist and vocalist in Ensiferum.
He composed the songs Lai Lai Hei, Token of Time or Into the Battle for them.
Oh shit i love Ensiferum...they got some really awesome albums i haven't caught up with their past 3-4 albums though
@@BaldHeadedMETAL They kicked him out of the band, because Jari had booked a recording studio for his side project Wintersun for a long time, but Ensiferum was going on tour. So he said he wants to do the album and the said ok, but you are no longer with us.
Also he had tuberculosis while serving in military to he has 1 whole lung and like 2/3 or 3/4 of the other lung.

@@BaldHeadedMETAL I know what you mean, that applies everywhere. But I think of it as a fortunate collision of interests. Ensiferum is still good and we have Wintersun.l, so it is a win.
@@kvikve I think the first two Ensiferum records (with Jari) are among the best metal records of all time, especially the first one. The band nowadays is a bit too much wey hey hey and ho ho ho for me, if you know what I mean.

I feel like there are so many bands that have side projects seconds bands and so on. Its a great way to explore your creativity without the constraints of your bands particular sound

Hey buddy. Thanks for your reaction. It amazes me, how these guys are blending the genres. I found this group a while ago, and i can't wait for their new album, it's been delayed all the time.
As for another tunes from this band, of course their Sons Of Winter And Stars and Land Of Snow And Sorrow, both from same Sonic Pump Studio rehearsal session.

Pro my all TIME fav of theirs but this is actually 2 songs only knew when I bought album they kick ass live too which isn’t easy
Hi, so you finally had a listen to Wintersun! This is such a great song, I love it and I knew it would be something you'd like too. Their song 'Land Of Snow And Sorrow' is another one I love listening to. And there is of course 'Sons Of Winter And Stars'. I don't like the growling in that song too much, but it might be another good recommendation for you.
By the way, any podcasts or reviews would be interesting to me. If you're interested in a podcast with some hard rock and heavy metal interviews, I can highly recommend the 'Breaking Absolutes' podcast by Peter Orullian. He really digs deep and asks questions you don't hear in standard interviews.

Winter Sun is from Finland, the country which has more metal bands per capita than anywhere else in the world.
In general the trifecta of metal Finland, Sweden and Norway brings some of the best metal ever along with Germany, France, Spain and Italy! As a Russian person i can only hope one day we have a bigger metal scene one day and as a current New Yorker im proud of the USA born and bred bands lol

@@BaldHeadedMETAL maybe The Bee for first. Official lyric video. There isn't many good live videos where would be good audio. Also Amongs Stars, Silver bride, Nightbirds song... So many good songs and quite different, clean and growls.

Nightwish took Wintersun's killer drummer, then they stole their bassist, this guy Yuri got to be like damn, they took half my band.
Jari, not Yuri.. He ain't Russian.. xD And the band members need something to do while he's working on the 4 new Wintersun albums.. Teemu is also busy with Smackbound.
