Great reaction! Wintersun is from Helsinki Finland. Jari Mäenpää (lead vocal, guitar) is mastermind behind Wintersun. He started Wintersun as his solopoject while he was still in Ensiferum (great band also 😊). Other wizards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar, backing vocals / plays now also in Megadeth, Jukka Koskinen (bass, backing vocals/ plays also in Nightwish) and human metronome Kai Hahto (drums/ plays also in Nightwish).
I hope you continue with same rehearsals with songs Land of Snow and Sorrow and Sons of Winter and Stars. These songs are from album Time 1.
First album called Wintersun has great tracks like Death and Healing, Winter Madness, Starchild, Sadness and Hate all official lyric videos.
Forest Seasons album is also great. Awaken from the Dark Slumber (spring), Forest That Weeps (summer), Eternal Darkness (autumn, best black metal song for my opinion) and Loneliness (winter).

The singer Jari makes all the backing tracks. That includes the piano.

Jari's voice has been influenced by the fact that he had half of one lung removed after he contracted TB whilst serving in the army as his National Service

And Teemu Mäntysaari (with blueish guitar) is playing with Megadeth at the moment
In August we will get a greatly improved version of the Time I album. Everything has been mixed and mastered again so it is much more clear and powerful.

Liked the reaction already, before even a single note was played. Eyes closed and as a Dutchie, I can just hear a very relatable English pronunciation that's nevertheless distinctly Danish. This is my favourite Wintersun track from these rehearsals. Drummer boi here, so I'm having great fun watching Kaitsu - fellow left hander & master of ambidextrous syncopation - counting a simple 6/8 pattern to end this intense studying caught in close-up with a nod at 2:13 as if he's saying "ok yeah, I got it now" 😂
I only like "SOW&S" slightly less because I think he made the wrong musical choice with the blast beats there (song doesn't need attention drawn tt drummer at that point imo), but that's also personal preference. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

Hi ! This is one of my favorites among Wintersun. Jari, the singer writes these epic songs. I´m glad you did this and I suppose you liked it too.
If so, you could do their "Sons of Winter and Star", made in this same studio. The drummer, Kai Hahto and the bass player, Jukka Koskinen are
now members of Nightwish. But now when Nightwish is resting a while Kai is playing within Wintersun. As you may know already both bands

Nå jamen Jari er multinstrumentalist og indspiller alle instrumenter, samt editerer og redigerer i rå mængder.
Jeg kunne godt tænke mig at se hvad I kunne syntes om et nummer som Winter madness😊
Og ligesådan konceptalbummet Forests seasons.
Det er måske ikke et af de mest produktive bands, hvad albums angår, men i kvalitet løber de fra alle andre😊
I øvrigt er det en god ide at kigge i retning af Sverige og Finland samt Holland!
De tre lande er vel nok det jeg kalder for the capitals af metal og symphonisk metal.( Hvis ikke I kender Nightwish, har I VIRKELIGT noget godt i vente😊😊)

If you want to hear an excellent band which doesn’t have that “3rd guitarist” for a bass player and has a female vocalist check out Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session). They once had a tour with Wintersun so they play similar..ish music.
