I absolutely love my black RG556. It's so much fun to play. I don't know much about customizing these devices so I picked up the variant with over 4400 games pre installed. Then picked up a really great 480 PS2 game library SD card that never leaves the slot. A friend downloaded the rest of the games I was looking for, and now this thing is completely stacked with an amazing library of well over 5k games with my GooglePlay downloads. I've never played a more comfortable hand held. The AMOLED screen is gorgeous, and every game you play on this looks completely remastered. The control layout is fantastic and the PS2 emulation is remarkable, especially for this price. Playing my all time favorite PS2 games again like Medal of Honor; Frontline and Contra;Shattered Soldier on the RG556 is so incredibly awesome.
Hi I would like to buy a 556 but the console cannot emulate racing games like Ps2 Burnout Dominator well, so I am very undecided! Can you tell me if changing the settings can run Bd or Burnout 3?
I know, you're right but the Anbernic installs emulators in advance instead the Ayn doesn't.. I am terrified to install the various emulators like Mame, Fba etc by myself and get the version wrong..;)
@@GiulioMa Lol, that was the appeal of the 556 for me, because I don't know squat about customizing these devices either, had a friend who does come over to hook me up. I'd go to your local Best Buy and see if anyone on their Geek Squad specializes in customizing Android based hand helds. Might be well worth it for you since you'll only have to do it once.
I'm thinking about buying it but some people say it's underpowered and the analog sticks are not good at all for precision in games like Doom, those are my only concerns. What do you think?
@@josef689hey there if you havent already gotten one by now il say this, i wouldn't say its underpowered as it can play pretty much any ps2/gamecube/wii although some games will require tweaking and in the settings, also if you could buy it and if the sticks dont feel right to you you can order new ones to replace online, then again you only know if they are good once you try them, yea thats it from me bye :)
@@MarioGrego yeah, I got mine and it’s powerful enough, but the sticks are really not best for games that need precision like fps, but for everything else they are just fine.

Cheers mate: wonderful video, thanks for sharing your experience with us, yet i was wondering how do you updated the versions of dolphin you have preinstalled, oh, got it now: latest beta from the official site, i guess! Can you update the mmj version aswell by any chance? Runs better on my system.. anyways... Out of the box, the anbernic interface runs the mmj version by default, for anybody wondering, my european version of this handeld work better with cpu overclocked and cpu emulation set to 100-400 in the emulator, default is 60% for some reasons. Anyways, i'll keep you posted on updates 'cause i think we can reach almost perfect emulation for most titles on this device, and I'm going to achieve it! (Don't mind my handlename, it is my ex handeld). Oh if you update: save normally, not in savesyateste 'cause they migh not work version to version! That's a major assume with emulation, be prepared (load safe state for any game, save normally, then update😉)
To be honest, I’ve forgotten - let me look back and test this again on the RG Cube which has the same specifications. I’m pretty sure I played it at 1x resolution with VBI skip on as those are my usual settings for Wii.
@@_Dontno_I'd go with RP4 Pro to get better performance on Wii and GameCube. I don't need PS2 as I have Odin 2 stacked full of PS2 games and memory card is full as well as internal storage. But I need RP4 Pro to fill it up with Wii, GameCube, PS1, Saturn, DreamCast games the extra performance and price is complete worth it on RP4 Pro. Just get yourself a grip!
Rg556 = weak chip, great amoled screen RP4P= adequate chip, bad quality screen thats too small Odin 2 = amazing top of the line chip, big 6" screen, except no amoled, the one thing keeping it from being the goat.
hello from France, I'm desperate, same console, xml file in the right place and I can't get there even by starting the game as said. I tried to patch the game via xml commands but I can't do it. A tutorial on how to do it on this console and you will be my idol :)

@@GiulioMa You can only ask so much of a sub $200 hand held. You're probably better off with the Odin 2 if your jam is high frame rate racing games.

I like that there are options for consoles with similar characteristics but with different sizes, so each user has the option that they like the most.

No, this is a review unit sent by the manufacturer. It did not include any micro SD card.
