Hi Rob Just watched your video and as usual great content and a good watch. Thanks for the mention as your kind words were much appreciated and your company enjoyed throughout the day. Kind regards Vince from the next peg .
Another great video Rob. Well done on your three barbel on the day. I’ve had a poor few trips to the Trent this season, I. have never managed to be there when the conditions were right sadly.
Hi Harry, conditions nowadays seem very up and down and changeable. I’ve not managed to catch many goods days at all recently either - It’s so volatile from one week to the next nowadays. Good luck out there and stay safe 👍🎣
Hey , it’s never a disappointment when u had already caught a fish, before u moved & your intelligent approach paid off, really good filming & fishing rob ! Particularly love any videos with a town/ river /road visual mix .
Cracking video Rob, well done on getting fish from both stretches, I was on that club stretch you went on with a guest ,as the river was dropping, probably afew days before you, freezing cold, only one chap had a barbel out all day, everyone else blanked, so we'll done on the brace, tight lines, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
@@RobsAngling it is a pain in the arse, today the river is rising again ,so may nip on newark dyke for acouple of hours, try winkle one out, will see, one day we may bump into each other lol, tight lines, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Well fished Rob. It's Barbel fishing, but not as I know it! Remarkable place but 6 hours away for me! Yes, those changes in light levels often lead to a bite. Very common also with Pike I used to find. Excellent video as usual. 🙂
Hi Rob, Thank you for the great and informative videos, I really look forward to them! It would be great and much appreciated if you could touch a little on how to safely position two rods. I’ve recently started using two rods, but something that seems so simple I still tend to struggle with. Also, how would you handle the situation if you were ever to get a double take? Cheers 😄
Hi Chris, double takes can provide a challenge but are manageable. I’d recommend you have your rods secured with a good set of butt grips to ensure they stay in place. Slacken off your bait runner and stay close to your rods is the best advice I can provide - It doesn’t happen too often but definitely keeps you on your toes when it does! Good luck 👍🎣
Hi David, I put the details of what equipment and bait I use on each session in the video description so everyone can find it after watching. This was a Newark Piscatorials stretch 👍🎣
That foam looks a bit suspicious to me - there's been a few cases of effluent foam coming down the trent this season, (i spoke to someone just 2 pegs down from where you were last week), though not to the level the severn has ATM. but could just be weir foam as you say, the regulars will know. I struggled last week during the day but river was almost down to normal level and quite clear - you could see the rocks. Did catch a flounder though!
I can't say I was too keen dipping my hands in the river near to it - It was in the edge of all of the pegs on the stretch so no way to get away from it on the day.
Nice video, what range of weights and feeders would you take with you in autumn and winter. I have a pair of old shimmy 8010's and some korum 13ft 2.5lb rods they are all right for the tidal arnt they? Cheers.
They are a tenner on the bank - the guy comes round regularly. Strictly no fishing during darkness now - seems one or two idiots left litter and causes bother spoiling it for everyone else. Little night fishing left on the trent now for a ticket, its all clubs and syndicates which isn't ideal for occasional visitors. can never figure out why more clubs don't offer a weekly ticket for their waters for anglers who are down on holiday. birmingham used to do this in the 80s and 90s but don't now.
Why did they issue you a day ticket when there was a Match on ? I hope you requested a refund. They should have a least informed you of what pegs were booked for the match.

Thanks Dean 🙏👍🎣
Another good film Rob. To be honest, I need to get myself up there. Good to see a few more daytime Barbel gracing your landing net. 💪🏻🎣💥
Thanks Kenny.. Get yourself out after a few mate. Hopefully you’ll pick a few up this Autumn 👍🎣
Brilliant video 👌👌

Thanks Craig - I’ve since fished it again since and had a similar day to you also. Water temps and level changes are all over the place at the min. 👍🎣

Thanks Andrew - Certainly a different landscape and approach to venues closer to home for us both 🎣👍
Another great video; I'm sat in Spain at the moment wishing I was on the Severn or Trent!
Thanks Clive.. Enjoy the break - You’ll be back and at them in the cold again soon 🥶 🎣

Hi pal, nice video..
I was just wondering what test curve rods you use on the Trent?
Great video again rob,me and my brother are trying bobs island tomorrow or A1 if bobs is busy, can u recommend a gd club to join around Newark mate
Thanks - Good luck out there tomorrow. The tickets I’d recommend with immediate access are Notts Anglers, Scunthorpe AA and Worksop 👍🎣
Hi Rob. Great video. Is there a way of knowing dates when matches are on that stretch?
Not that I know of - There doesn’t seem to be either a page on their website or any social media updates unless I’m missing it 🤷♂️
As you drive in to the stretch, the old nities up to low hundreds there is sa board notifying of all match details on the stretch.@@RobsAngling
Thanks … I tried to find info on the website… I’ve got a 300 mile round trip so don’t really want to clash with a match!!
@@BarryGoodwin-s7l do you know match dates in November and December?

Thanks John.. Those would be fine for the tidal. A mix of 4oz to 8oz would cover the majority of situations 👍🎣

Hi how much its a day ticket ? Runing from with hours ?
It's £10 per angler and it's dawn until dusk.
They are a tenner on the bank - the guy comes round regularly. Strictly no fishing during darkness now - seems one or two idiots left litter and causes bother spoiling it for everyone else. Witch pegs are bookable ? Wanna sit as close as is possible to the weir but some peegs have to booked wanna fishing after christmas
Why did they issue you a day ticket when there was a Match on ? I hope you requested a refund. They should have a least informed you of what pegs were booked for the match.
Hi John, the bailiff hadn’t done his rounds by the time the guys turned up for the match so I’d not paid at that point 👍
I’d bungee tent peg that pod down …. Be a Shame to see it float down river 😢
Depends on how you fish it - Never felt its that necessary for my approach 👍
@@RobsAngling only needs a reel to lock up or line round the eye and it will go in .. seen it a few times on the Trent
is that newark or notts section rob
It’s Newark 👍
