wow, almost 14 minutes. very thorough and detailed review with both constructive criticism and well thought out praise. I can see you put a lot of time and care into reviewing this record, which is especially good for the careers of smaller, independent artists like alex. in fact, your forced witness review is what brought alex to my attention in the first place, one of many artists I've been introduced to and fallen in love with through your channel. Unsubscribed.
I read this before I went to work today and when i got there, it was all I could think about all shift, just imagining the ridiculous ways in which Alex Cameron could make Anthony seem really slimy in a dance pop comedic tone, it's fucking maddening, thank you, Jesus
Yesss, didn't expect an 8, clearly not fantastic as Force Witness but still contain some of his best works. Strong 7 for me Edit: Now it's an 8. Damn this album is a grower
Anthony, "Divorce" isn't about his current relationship. It's about his girl's previous marriage and written from her point of view. That's why he is able to write those lyrics without fear of "regretting" them later.
Yeah I think he's underestimating how much he is still playing characters in this. Step Dad and End is Nigh also are based on experiences and friends but clearly not just his own sincere thoughts
This review also has more talk about the actual artist than a lot of Fantano reviews, which I’m happy about. Even if it’s just a reaction to the “where the (insert here) review?!?” Seeing people prop Alex Cameron up is still nice to see.
I’m so glad you’re still reviewing Alex Cameron’s records. I’ve been waiting for 2 years and a half / 3 years for him getting more attention, he deserves it!
End is Nigh is a so-so track? That song was a gut punch, my favorite besides Divorce. The lyrics on the outro are underwhelming but the visual of a man on the brink of suicide in a world on its last legs is incredibly powerful imo. AlCam at his most hopeless for sure, big fan of how much heart he puts into the vocals too.
I'm kind of upset with myself i left this record in the store for three weeks buying up shit that was disappearing at a quicker pace. This record is absolutely a joy.
Alex Cameron is just great all around. Definitely go see him live if you get the chance. He puts on an absolutely fantastic show. So much charisma and is hilarious as well.
album review requests for the rest of September: Exhorder - Mourn The Southern Skies, As I Lay Dying - Shaped By Fire, and Seeyouspacecowboy - The Correlation Between Entrance And Exit Wounds. Keep the loud rock reviews going Melon! Thank You!

You didn't talk about that absolutely stunning "UGH!" in Bad for the Boys but I'll let slide because we're clearly on the same page about how wonderful and funny this record is.
Least fave track Other Ladies, even whilst identifying that sweet Dylan-ness - you're a mad man, but I love you. Thanks for the thoughtful thoughts per usual
HE'LL GET TO PEGGY, GOOD LORD. Maybe give the new AlCam a try, you might like it! It's so annoying to see everyone just bellyaching about why Anthony hasn't reviewed a certain album yet. He'll get to it. I liked the new Peggy, but this album is worth your time too.
Melon, do you ever plan to review any foreign album? I might suggest "Melograno" by "Claver Gold", i think that is one of the greatest italian rap album of all time, and my italian favourite album ever!

Anthony is a character from an Alex Cameron song.

I’m glad you liked the album but you didn’t have to go on a rant on how Rap isn’t music
How dare he claim Rap isn't music, that would mean Peppa Pig isn't music and Anthony doesn't want to answer to a 7 foot 1 inch tall Peppa Pig
Anthony’s father was a music theorist who went to music school and you’re going to try to discredit him? Disgusting!
Hey! Anthony's father was a music theorist, he should know
Ironically I got a Ben Shapiro ad before watching this
@Proxy Effect Cringing with Ben, as well as his recent video on Ben's take on rap music, lmao

I'm genuinely surprised by this 8/10. I was bracing myself for a solid 5 or 6 from melon.
Same, this was a delightful surprise!
Blui129 Agree. Forced Witness is better, imo, but both are great.
I lowkey feel bad for Alex Cameron because people only care about the JPEGMAFIA review

This moment of the interview shocked me, one of my favorite songs on the album! It encapsulates all of the qualities he spoke fondly of in the review.
@@pertminus Yes, it's a fantastic song. The music is great, and the lyrics are hilariously written.
