yeh, sanger was also his immediate go-to as new coach. his non-verbal communication really gives off mixed signals regarding how he feels about people most of the time. this is true across almost all of his relationships with other characters on the show except maybe dolo/goody/hitch and lara mahr. he seems to be pretty consistent with his non-verbal communication with them. always expressing the same level of respect and admiration with his non-verbal comms. even when making insults towards hitch the 2 times it's done in the first season, he's laughing while doing it. this is 100% unique from dialog with any other characters.
I thought the show was going to be a total failure. Episode after episode of repeated chirping with little depth, all the while vainly trying to keep said chirping fresh. Boy was I wrong.
I loved that they changed the cinematography work just enough to change the "feel" of the show, but not enough to make you forget its in the same world. It completely takes you out of Letterkenny entirely but still feels so familiar. Keeso is a once in a lifetime writer. hands down.

I can’t get over how much I love this show. I didn’t think the idea of Shorsey having his own spinoff would fly but wow it is spectacular and sticks the landing. I love these characters, the setting, the stakes of never losing a game or the team folds. So much development for characters…..it’s a show I can happily rewatch over and over
If you watch the entire Shoresy series, you see the connections with Shoresy, his family, his love of hockey, and his hatred of losing, it's incredibly well done, after being hit in the head with terrible writing on shows for years, it's a refreshing change.
Letterkenny was never about just hockey. Shoresy was only ever a side character for them hence the way he was “written”. It’s been referenced multiple times that he was a great ass hockey player.

I'll always vote for the underdog.

It's great at the cookout, too, when they're first presented with the sweaters and Shorsey asks where the C is. Ziig says, "what's the point?" and it cuts Shorsey so deep.

I feel like this entire show was created after s7 e5 of letterkenny to justify letting us hear more exquisite shoresy in game chirping but simultaneously letting us see who shore really is, beyond the foul mouthed chirping master we know him as

The best crying scene is missing: when the new jerseys arrive at the BBQ and the C is NOT there and one of the sisters asks "What's the difference?" His feelings are so hurt. Greatest scene in the show.
I have to say it…in the subtitles during the national anthem, they have “in all thy sons command” instead of “in all of us command”…..don’t know if that was intentional or not…but I love it..🙂👍
I liked Shorsey as the Chirp Master but watching him in Shorsey made me respect him as a character. Sure he can be a dick but he also has a lot of heart and wants nothing but the best for his team, his friends, all of the moms and Laura Mohr
Wow. So: If you allow talented, clever people opportunity, freedom and some elbow room you get better results than churning out the exact same limited underwhelming garbage again, and again.
Really I have just disconnected Shoresy in this from his time in Letterkenny because it doesn't really feel the same after that first scene in the locker room. He feels like the old shorsey while chirping Michaels, but after that he is just a totally new character. It was a weird enough disconnect in his final episode on Letterkenny because he goes from a guy who has no personality but loudmouth asshole to having a work ethic we never saw before for 1 specific episode, then we never see that work ethic again in this series. He doesn't make them never lose again by putting everyone through hellish training regimen which improves their skills to match that skate until he pukes trait they gave him at the end of LK S10. So yeah, so, I'm just taking this series in a vacuum and enjoying it for what it is.
You can call it character development, though; the Shoresy back in LK was content enough to chirp and kneecap his way to the penalty box all the time, but having to join an out-of-town team after playing DNA shenanigans for that national 'ship (which got invalidated) maybe drove him to hit the throttle. For all the talk of "they don't ask how, they ask how many," maybe he wanted to have a proper win for once, and after 19 consecutive losses, enough was enough. As far as drilling the hell out of the rest of the team, he knows that with four games left to go, there's no time for that kind of regimen, so he has to bring in ringers (even if they're retired) and he and Sanguinet have to use what they've got to best effect.
I do love how even though Shoresy tells Sanguinet to "Shut the fuck up" he holds onto him for support whenever he starts crying.
Sanger is totally Shoresy's best friend, even with the constant "shut the fuck up" they totally support eachother in a wild way!
