Oh, Marie-Anne, you are always so beautiful, both inside and out! I love your wisdom, not just about dressing chic, but about your lifestyle and how you mantain your figure! I am thankful to have a lovely collection of quality and classically styled, clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories gathered over a lifetime. So, it is easy to follow your suggestions when it comes to inventing fashional looks. I live on a very small Fixed Income now that I am retired, and could never afford to shop for new clothes at recommended retail prices. Thankfully, with your help, I don't have to!
My mother taught me how to dress and she loved the classic look. She always looked great. My parents were married for 49 years before my daddy died and every day that she dressed she went to my daddy and modeled her outfit for him. She always said, how do I look,.Daddy? He always told her how beautiful she looked and would say to me, your mama has class! I love those memories! You have a wonderful wardrobe! My mother would have loved it!
I had a shopping binge after this video. Bought two cashmere turtlenecks the chili pepper jacket and the grey alpaca jacket. Very pleased with all my purchases. I always size up knowing that clothes made in China run on the small size. Usually a M but bought L in all items. Good decision😊
I envy you being able to look smart and fashionable in the winter. Here in the mountains of Wyoming, where winter nights are 20F to minus 20F, clothing means layers of sweaters and socks, and everything is hidden under coats and parkas, hats and ear muffs. I may try something with a long wool skirt with boots though. You're right to recommend wool. One thing I've learned since moving to Wyoming is that nothing beats wool and down for keeping you warm.
Quince has very affordable cashmere midi skirts (and matching sweaters!) and Lily Silk has Merino wool ones for a bit more. I love these, and wool and/or cashmere dresses, with tights and tall boots for cold weather. I’m just more comfy in skirts, and most pants, like jeans, aren’t warm at all (L.L. Bean used to have flannel-lined jeans, and probably still do, if you like wearing them). I also wear my silk long-johns tops daily, and bottoms a lot.🙂
I had a shopping binge after this video. Bought two cashmere turtlenecks the chili pepper jacket and the grey alpaca jacket. Very pleased with all my purchases.
Marie -Anne, the vest you are wearing….I have its twin! I’ve worn it with black slacks, dark blue jeans, black jeans, and a variety of shirts and blouses. I started this comment as soon as I saw what you are wearing then….so excited when your ideas matched mine! I’m retired, age 73, my days are spent with grandchildren, family, church, and housekeeping. You have taught me to see possibilities of dressing up or down as needed in my days. Thank you !
I do love cashmere turtlenecks LilySilk, long sleeve crew necks, & short t-shirts (Quince). Versatile, more on the thin side but really do keep you warm & classy!
I hand wash my cashmere sweaters without any problems. I just hand wash them and then I pressed them dry between two towels and lay them over a drying rack. Works great.
I do the same. I've even dyed them when the other choice was donating them when I got tired of them. Dye works in warm water so no worries about shrinkage.
I love cashmere sweaters and have a few. They are soft warm and lightweight at the same. I get mine at Quince. They are reasonably priced and of excellent quality.
Thank you so much for this timely video. Our weather finally more like fall than summer so I’m looking for warmer clothes. I hate to shop so your suggestions are helpful to me.
As always Marie-Anne I love everything you have shown me today, But that coat at the end what a beautiful warm looking garment, the red jacket I think would be lovely for Xmas so seasonal, and yes the French Chic Lady looked terrific.
The gillet is very smart with the midi skirt, mock turtleneck and long boots; so classic. I grew up calling it a waistcoat (English)but here, in the US, people call it a “vest”😮. I also agree with the layering. I wear long sleeve, silk camisoles. They are lightweight and also retain the body heat well. I now live in the Pacific Northwest where winters are cold, wet and long but I think all your pieces are perfect for the smart casual look.
Absolutely loved all Goelia items, Marie-Anne. The jumpers, red jacket, skirt and the 3 piece suit your wearing are my favourites. I was given two mock neck wool jumpers (beige and grey), a cord black pencil skirt and a pair of knee high boots in black as birthday presents last week and this is so timely. You look so chic and elegant. Merci for your helpful tips and inspiring gorgeous outfits ❤
Beatutiful pieces but you always show us such beautiful things and give us such great outfit inspiration. It doesn't get that cold here in Southern California but light wool is nice on our rare cold-ish days. Cold here is mid 50's . OH MY I just saw myself in my tan wool coat!! Yes it was one of our cold days . Thank you!!!
I am in love with the red jacket - you can always tell when the peace is perfectly made because it looks and feels like magic . And , of course, there is that beautiful lining 😊
Cold weather is here and this was the video for me. I always have trouble staying warm....I live in sweaters, trousers and boots!!! The clothes you shared with us are certainly my style and they are warm.....Love the outfit you are wearing. In the US we call the neckline of the first 2 sweaters a mock neck and I love them. I actually prefer merino wool to cashmere as they do not itch. Wish I could buy it all!!! I love the longer skirts for winter with boots. Very chic.
Yes, I do have black trousers in my wardrobe. They're timeless, classic and versatile. French Chic ladies featured in your videos also look fabulous. Congratulations! ❤💐
Great outfits [especially the one you are wearing which looks fabulous on you] and being a natural fibre merely adds to their versatility. I recently managed to buy 2.5m of pure wool tartan fabric [remnant from a mill, with luck I'll be able to get another metre as well] for only Euro12 and while I want most of it to make myself a lovely wool skirt for winter [if you add a petticoat underneath as well as the lining that not only helps them sit/hang better but also adds another layer of warmth, especially if you choose cotton or linen ones] I think I will make myself a matching gilet out of the extra fabric just to complete the outfit and give myself something else I can wear with the skirt or on it's own with another outfit for warmth in winter.
Lots of amazing yet simple and chic styling ideas. Both my wool coats do not have belts, which I prefer because (a) they allow more room underneath for layering, and (b) nothing falls off or drags on the ground when I’m seated on the bus, in the car, or at a table. I’m delighted to say that I have nearly all of the pieces shown here, with the exception of the black midi pencil skirt (I do have a black pleated one). All the things I’ve learned from this channel are really paying off - merci mille fois, Marie-Anne! ❤️🇨🇦
I went to Newyork in December a few years back it was -20 had to layer so much was freezing found it very hard to have layers on and tights and thick socks coming from a hot country Beautiful clothes xx
WOWOWOWOOWOW, Marie-Anne all of those outfits looks so stunning, elegant and classy. I even wish we had winter but we're having summer already +30C, so I got sweaty just looking those warm clothes but I definitely enjoyed the video.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely loved this video. I think it’s time to invest in a cashmere sweater. I love the black turtle neck - so versatile. Everything is amazing so thank you for showing this ❤️
After your last video sharing Goelia, I bought a beautiful cream blouse and a black top. The detailing on both is very pretty. Good quality at affordable prices and I am sure I will get a lot of wear from both. I loved the red jacket you showed Marie Anne ❤️
I have a black wool cropped jacket from Goelia. It has extremely tiny sequins which give it a festive understated elegance; doesn't look dated at all. It's perfect for any of the cocktail attire events I will be attending this Fall and Winter. 👍
Marie-Anne! 💕🥂Happy Holidays! Hopefully you will show some holidays at your farm. I am loving the Ralph Lauren layering right now. Blazers, vest, trousers, fair isle sweaters, scarfs, ruffled collars, small print florals, boots, belts.
I want you to know that I have been able, after some good while, to apply what you teach in your videos to my size, lifestyle and sensory issues. This has taken a lot of work on my part, and some trial and error. Being retired, plus sized, and having sensory issues that make wearing certain types of fabric or clothing styles difficult, it has been a bit of a rough journey. But lately, I feel that I am finally getting a handle on things. While I was never actually frumpy, nor have I ever been a fan of the American athleisure fashion crimes (LOL), there was a lot of room for improvement, and some veering off the road into the ditch! I do really appreciate your tips. While there are things I cannot do, either because of lifestyle issues or budget, I have been able to modify your teachings for my own lifestyle and budget, which is a great benefit to me. I believe I look much better, and have had many comments that I look very nice, or even "elegant", now and then. So many thanks from me to you.
Your lovely comment makes my heart sing Fran 🤗 taking what I show and adopting it to your own circumstances is so very French Chic 🙏 and you are getting all the proof you need through those compliments 😘
❤ Beautiful jackets! I’m taking notes, but yesterday I was dying in my fall clothes at 85F/29C in Mississippi. We all were, but we are trying! Looking for winter colors in silk and chiffon. 😂
Hello Marie Anne. The wrap coat is absolutely beautiful. All of the pieces you presented are so classic. What type of hangers is it best to store wool trousers? Thanks for your styling inspiration.
I love the half tutleneck sweathers, so much more comfortalbel than the fuller verion. I have them in off-white, green, grey and brown. Black is not my color, it's to harsh for my light skin compleksion.
Thank you for this video! 😊 These winter outfit ideas are so stylish and essential for the season. Do you have any tips for layering in a way that’s both warm and fashionable? 🧣👗
I love the style and try to dress that way when I go out, which isn't often. Can't wear wool, or even cashmere, much to my sorrow. Luckily, our winters are usually mild. I also can't stand turtle necks, or even high crew necks. I fill up the gap in winter with a silk scarf. My life is mainly spent on the bed or sofa, so I need smart leisure wear that is as comfortable as pyjamas, though I go for classic chic for lunches out etc. Any classic lounge wear videos to come? 😊

I like the way you describe the trousers/pants in this video. It's a good and detailed, which I appreciate. You look great wearing them.
Merci Jane 😘
I hand wash my cashmere sweaters without any problems. I just hand wash them and then I pressed them dry between two towels and lay them over a drying rack. Works great.
I do the same. I've even dyed them when the other choice was donating them when I got tired of them. Dye works in warm water so no worries about shrinkage.
Ooooo, the red jacket is beautiful!!! The gold reminds me of my only St John! I will think about using it with the black!!
I love the midi skirt, and especially the red jacket with the velvet trim. Gorgeous!

Merci for sharing your views Louise it really helps others to make up their minds whether to purchase 😘
Hello Marie-Anne! Here in the U.S. we call that neckline that is between a crewneck and a turtleneck a "mockneck".
I was going to add this, but then saw that you already had🙂
Merci Rose x

I will see what I can do Sharon 😘 with shooting videos for my style channel and now my collab with Adeline - time is getting in short supply 😃

We have Goelia in my main city of Sydney, Australia. It's a beautiful shop!
It looks marvellous 😃
I like all of them. Very chic.
🤗
❤ Beautiful jackets!
I’m taking notes, but yesterday I was dying in my fall clothes at 85F/29C in Mississippi. We all were, but we are trying! Looking for winter colors in silk and chiffon. 😂
Always dress for the weather Karen 😃👍
Lovely clothes Marie-Anne but I would love to add a pop of colour somewhere x
Pop away Jennifer 😃👍 that would really elevate them
Hi Mariaan I watched your style advice from South Africa
Bonjour 👋
I never knew wool was washable!
Less good to wash is bad quality wool of the past or angora wool. Angora shrinks while you wash it in a basin.
@ wow, thanks!
Lovely coat
🤗
I love your selection for this video. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to wool in cashmere.
Hello Marie Anne. The wrap coat is absolutely beautiful. All of the pieces you presented are so classic. What type of hangers is it best to store wool trousers? Thanks for your styling inspiration.
I use hangers that clip on the waistbands of the trousers to save marks on the trouser legs 😃
I love the half tutleneck sweathers, so much more comfortalbel than the fuller verion. I have them in off-white, green, grey and brown. Black is not my color, it's to harsh for my light skin compleksion.

Good evening from Sicily
Bonjour Marie 👋 I hope you are having a great Sunday x
These are wonderful videos. I love the look of this collection! What are your thoughts on leather pants (beige) with the black turtleneck and a belt?
I think that would be a lovely look - for those who prefer not to wear leather faux leather is certainly possible 😃
@ thank you so much. These are vegan leather. Not sure how that works. 😊
Thank you for this video! 😊 These winter outfit ideas are so stylish and essential for the season. Do you have any tips for layering in a way that’s both warm and fashionable? 🧣👗
I have done quite few videos on layering 😃 take a peek on my channel page 😃
I always look forward to pulling out my winter wear. But I'm less than thrilled to put away my summer/fall wear.
It is always mixed feelings Ms B 😃
I love the style and try to dress that way when I go out, which isn't often. Can't wear wool, or even cashmere, much to my sorrow. Luckily, our winters are usually mild. I also can't stand turtle necks, or even high crew necks. I fill up the gap in winter with a silk scarf. My life is mainly spent on the bed or sofa, so I need smart leisure wear that is as comfortable as pyjamas, though I go for classic chic for lunches out etc. Any classic lounge wear videos to come? 😊
I will see what I can do Heather although we don't really do loungewear in France! I can certainly do Chic sleepwear 😃
I love watching your videos, although I'm a plus size woman it great tips on what to wear and not.
I hope you also get a chance to watch my videos made for my larger ladies Gloria 😘
I always layer over tights. It gets cold here in Rhode Island
☃️
I like everything but my favorite is the outfit you are wearing.
😘 It is a lovely outfit 😃
Wonderful coat . I'm going to get one, but in grey or blue, for yellow beige is absolutely no colour for me.
Always get the colours that suit you Inge 😃
