    This isnt a Monty problem. Marchand isnt a top 6 forward anymore. Pasta is a still a turnover machine. Passing from d-zone to mid and o-zone is high school level at best.

      Marchy is getting old and it is understandable. I’ve been bitching about Pastrnak throwing the puck away nonstop. Shit drives me fucking bonkers, but no one mentions that.

      monty's answer for the panthers after his record setting regular season team fell behind 3 -- 1 was to keep playing the injured ullmark, when he had the league's 2nd best goalie on the bench ( 24--6 record, .930 save %, 2.27 GAA ) and playing the injured bergeron for a minus 6 in his three games, with one point scored. when you have a couple of players playing badly, it is the players' fault. when you lead the league in penalties, still can't pull off a successful line change ( Bs gave up the game winner in boston on another botched line change vs panthers ), you have three of four lines not scoring, you can't beat anyone but the worst teams in the league, your team looks confused and they are running around, only 5 teams in the league have scored less goals than you, you get curb stomped in a shutout to a winless team, you get beat by an expansion team one week old, and are three ( 3 !!! ) points away from the league cellar -- IT IS THE COACH'S FAULT.

    They’re not gonna get anyone better than Monty. They better start pulling up their socks and start playing the system. He’s laying out. They got rid of Cassidy and look what he did after he left. Right now they have one of the best coaches in the world. I hate to say it because I’m a huge Bruin fan. But the players have to put their feelings aside and just put their nose to the grindstone . The kind of money they’re making it shouldn’t be a problem.

      I agree! Monty is not innocent but at the end of the day he has to work with what he has (which isn’t very strong up front and the defense isn’t performing) and the players aren’t showing up for work. It would be a shame to see them put it all on the coach, even though I think he is not immune from criticism

      Once the players get the big money they play not to get hurt and they play lazy. This is a problem when you pay them the big money and its all around the league.

    The players are not playing well. Players making millions whether there in the mood to play or not. If they think that another coach will come in and it’s going to be hunky dory, then we’ll see who cries the most. Tired of watching players make a boat load of money and not show up to play a game.

      100% put a dark cloud over the whole buildup and killed the entire excitement of the season…. and they never recovered from it or gave us a reason to feel otherwise. We’ll never know for sure the impact this had on the team, but I can confidently say from a fan perspective, it flat out sucks.

  • @hockeytalk6084
    @hockeytalk6084 Месяц назад +7

    Montgomery shares plenty of blame, but I think it’s just disingenuous to deflect any of it from the players and management. First of all, the players get paid millions and millions of dollars and most peoples salary in one night whether they show up for work or not. That’s wrong. Fans pay the salaries and it’s not endearing to watch the players be so lazy and fail to execute. So these guys need to learn how to earn their paychecks and second of all, management is the one who constructed such a WEAK forward core so even if Montgomery shares plenty of blame, they are trying to put lipstick on a pig. They expect a Stanley Cup contender with 3 third lines. It would be disappointing to me to see them fire the coach and then sweep everything under the rug. This franchise needs to clean house from top to bottom. Regular season success doesn’t mean anything anymore. This team consistently under performs and ownership will not react unless people stop paying for the overpriced tickets.

      the coach's job is to fix problems and get the best out of the players. monty has done neither and he is the coach of one of the worst playoff chokes in NHL history, followed by a second consecutive lube less whimpering reaming last year. they should have canned this turd at the end of last year.

    Montgomery inherited a very talented team in his first year and watched them play and didn't have to do much tweaking but still lost in the playoffs. then last year things got a little harder losing their best 2 centers and having no one good enough to fill their spots and in the end still lost in the playoffs. this year is no different he has many good players but cant seem to get them to play for him. its the coach who needs to go because he is just not good at teaching this team how to win

      They’re all to blame, but I do think it’s stupid that the players and management get to skate by this whole thing even though it is largely their fault. As for Swayman I disagree that he is fine Jacob. I don’t care about extenuating circumstances. He barely has a .900 save % right now…..that ain’t $10 million good….and it’s actually well below league average. No matter how people want to put on their rose colored glasses when it comes to sway that will not be good enough and Boston will miss the playoffs. Let alone have any hope of winning a round if that continues. No area of this team is a strong suit right now

    Monty changes line combinations to often, never allows for any chemistry to develop. Always helps to play with same line mates, you get to know their tendencies. Monty has been throwing out the same group on the powerplay even though they have been horrible yet he makes no changes there??? Pass the puck around the perimeter while they stay in the same spot, couldn't make it any easier for the other team to block shots.

  • @rickr9740
    @rickr9740 Месяц назад +1

    It is Monty's fault that he keeps rolliing Marchand out on the power play. Work on some other combination during practice. Last 2 early exits from the playoffs were a direct fault from the coaching. Playing injured vets over working youngsters, Forcing the vets in the lineup just to keep them happy. Too many player penalties. Are reason enough not to extend the contract. This year got bigger and supposedly badder, but that does not fit into the Coaches system. Let them loose, let them hit.

      It’s time for Sweeney to be fired. His drafting and overpaying for players is why we are in this situation. They still believe temp fix band aids, it doesnt work anymore. They need to go full rebuild mode and the temp fix band aids will not fully fix the problem going forward. The problem is still there they are old, slow, and very overpaid.

    Multiple issues here to dissect
    Lines - Coyle, Geekie, Potrias and Freddy are no where to be found offensively
    Def - none of them and u mean none of them are playing well sorry at this point it’s a complete mess
    Goalies - sway hasn’t played well at all, korp looks like a deer in the headlights at times last game was his best
    Power play - awful
    Short handed play - avg at best
    Coaching - terrible at times not his fault at times but he’s clearly either lost the room or the veterans
