Welcome home Ollie! Happy to see you in Black & Gold 🐻 Power play help was first to come to mind. Pasta's showing a creativity as a playmaker -Oliver is another creative forward. We know his potential. He's happy to be back home - Happy hockey players produce. Bruins locker room has not been happy No reason not to hope for the best. Zacha stood out @ Vancouver 3 points. He woke up Also why Pasta had a 4 point game Hit hard! Have fun Ollie!
All I expect from Oliver is effort and grit for 60 minutes. The same thing I expect from ALL Bruins. When they play with a bit of heart they can actually win games. Get your fingers out Bruins.
Missoula, Montana checking in.. grew up in Bridgewater, MA but live out west these days.. fyi our local youth hockey program is the Missoula Bruins… which makes it easy with the kids. :)
He is not so bad 32 points in 32 games like everyone say even if imagine if he had at least better players around ,Just give Geekie, coyle,Swayman to mcdavid we will see how good he will be .
That's funny... I say swayman can go for McDavid and I'd hang on to Coyle and geekie for depth. They're playing beyond their lines -it's not their fault. they're great depth that I don't want to lose. We want coyle during playoffs-does a lot of dirty work 4th touch away from a goal or high dangerous shot.. on his knees battling I totally agree with your perspective on Ollie. He's got limited skills, not a two-way player yet, so, put him on the power play and the Michigan trick kid in the locker room. Doesn't cost much. He's happy to be back home - happy players tend to produce. Bruins locker room has been, not happy If we can spice up the power play, that's a win Nothing to lose at this point ✌️
Pasta is not him self - he miss the explosivitet both in the shoot and the skating - either he is sick, injured or just bad prepared. Doing 4 points is good but this is not the sort of play we need from him. Marchand is driving the team still ..
The Bruins will win more games if Pasta is going, especially against the bad to average teams in the league, however, he's really not the issue with the Bruins even if he is having more of a down year The Bruins are still 6-9 with a minus 21 goal differential in those 15 games versus playoff teams. That win versus Vancouver was their first against a team within the current playoff structure since mid October. It's nearly January. They've also gone 1-2 on this road trip so far and could easily wind up 2-3 or even 1-4, then what? Pasta will have his runs of playing really well but because the team around him isn't very good, he'll likely have a few more bad stretches of play than he typically does as well The Bruins need goal scoring from others, so hopefully Walhstom can bring that Unlike Brazeau and Geekie, he actually has the DNA of a Top 6 player. That being said, he's under performed in the league for quite some time now, so there's ZERO guaranty Wahlstrom figures it out in Boston Whether or not that's due to the ACL injury that he's still working his way back from or it has more to do with his alleged bad attitude, effort and consistency issues, who knows? Wahlstom does has plus hands and a fair amount of natural goal scoring ability to go along with his plus shot. He also has the NHL size you're looking for in a wing Since his ACL injury he's slowed up considerably in terms of his play speed and he's kind of average in terms of his defense, so it's not like he doesn't have warts This move kind of signals something though and that's the fact unless another move is in the works, the Bruins don't seem very much interested in Lysell or Merkulov, at least as "next guys up" options right now If that wasn't the case, why would the Bruins eat up their remaining Cap Space to bring in a RW when they could have just either brought Lysell up or moved someone else to the right side and brought Merkulov up? So it's obvious right now that the Bruins have far more confidence in Wahlstrom, a player that another talent starved organization just threw on the trash heap themselves, than they do their two best (allegedly) forward prospects not named Matthew Poitras Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the Bruins league worst farm system Wahlstrom cost nothing to acquire and even if all they can do is turn him into a middle six guy that scores 30-40 points, great, that's what Trent Frederic is but Wahlstrom won't cost $4M-$-5M next season like Frederic will next season However, if all Wahlstrom turns out to be is another busted 1st round draft pick here too, well again, no assets were burned on acquiring him Geekei and Brazeau are not and will never be Top 6 guys If the Bruins actually make the playoffs and expect those guys to go up against the NHL's teams good teams and Top 6 players nightly and win those battles, they're dumb Maybe a Top 6 built like this could catch fire, assuming Wahlstrom can find his game here and Poitras could come back up at some point and play a Top 6 center or wing role: Is this likely to work out? Probably not. Impossible? No Marchand Lindholm Pasta Zacha Poitras Wahlstrom You could also have Wahlstrom play the left side, move Zacha to center and have Poitras play RW as Wahlstrom can play his off-side Wahlstrom - Zacha - Poitras Say what you want to about Poitras and Wahlstrom but unlike Geekie and Brazeau, as well as every other bottom and middle 6 guy on their roster... Poitras and Wahlstrom both have Top 6 DNA and skill in their games. Whether or not each can tap it consistently. at the NHL level, that's a different story entirely If that Top 6 could somehow come to fruition, their bottom 6 would have a decent amount of depth and flexibility with Frederic ,Coyle, Geekie, Brazeau, Tyler Johnson, Kastelic, Max Jones, Koepke and Marc Mclauglin all to choose from 9 decent bottom 6 guys to fill 6, bottom 6 roles isn't a a bad place to be come playoff time depth wise They'd still also have guys like Merkulov, Lysell, Duran, Farinacci and Kuntar as potential Black Aces down in Providence. By that time Hampus Lindholm would also be back, making Wotherspoon their #7 and Osterle their #8 again, which would be okay defensive depth for a playoff run Again, "perfect world" scenario but just the addition of Wahlstrom, if he can find his game here in Boston and Poitras, if he can come back up and play in their Top 6 regularly, could alter the Bruins fortunes quite a bit this year
Love the optimism on Wahlstrom Evan. Much needed.

Love the HF Bruins shoutout 😂
Let's let Wahlstrom play a couple of games first before we present him with the Art Ross.

Is that guy Coyle still on this team?
I don't know but I hear he picked up the HOOD sponsorship...
Not yet .still looks not himself playing
don't think so
No, he’s arguably the most overrated player in the league
More than Trevor Zegras and Darnell Nurse? You're joking.
Are you talking about pasta?
