- During the Aug. 31, 2017 Universal Orlando Annual Passholder Night event, the team members at The Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man were letting guests ride without 3D glasses because they had all the house lights on.

absolutely LOVE how the physical piece on the right at 0:35 moves at the same time as Spiderman moves in the screen, it's such a small detail but that needs so much good synchronisation just to make the experience better
Just like the Forbidden Journey, it’s just absolutely insanely amazing how everything syncs so well! I don’t know how they do it :D

they use trigger sensors so it detects when they pass over a certain point to when the animatronic should start moving i watched the behind the scenes and a ride mechanic said the screen knows it the ladder knows it
I love how themed it is even with the lights on.
I love how it is, because a lot of dark rides don’t do that anymore :/

@@grudgematch6653 of course they weren’t, don’t forget this ride was insanely revolutionary when it came out (and that’s an understatement) and to this day, it’s known as one of the best theme park attractions :)
Even the ceiling is themed which is so unusual, but is a testament to why this ride is so good!
I hope this ride never gets removed. That kong ride should be turned into a rollercoaster. It was a pretty big waste of money not to mention Universal has a lack of coasters

and the reason why they have a lack of outdoor coasters is because when it rains at IOA half the park gets shut down.

Yeah it peed down last week when we were there and Kong was one of the few rides they kept open cause they skipped the outdoor part of it out. It is defo one of our family favourites.

@ 2:54 when you're supposed to be floating. I think it's a simple prop wall that lowers and lights that pan down.. but man does that illusion just really work (at least for a first ride)

Yes you are correct. There is a video that shows the ride breaking down and the walls weren’t functioning properly. I agree it’s an incredible illusion and I honestly wouldn’t have ever guessed if I didn’t find out online.

This is simply put the most amazing ride in any Florida park (I haven't been on Forbidden Journey, I'm sorry), even with the lights on, that's how good it is!
When you ride FJ, Spiderman will move to #2 for you. It's uh-mazing!
Junk Drawer I’m a much bigger superhero fan than a HP fan, so I prefer this one just a little bit more. The only thing I like more about this ride over the FJ is I *personally* think the screens look nicer to the eye, even though they’re both gorgeous
I appreciate these videos. I hate coasters and big drops but love rides like this. Nice to be able to see for myself what happens on a ride.

No joke I was on this on the exact same day I ended up riding 3 times. Ride 1: lights on ride 2: broke down on the falling part and effects glitched and on the final ride every thing worked😂😂

Oddly, this doesn't make the ride any less fun. If anything, it's cool to see how the ride operates

Well it's definitely not red and blue. And I'm ignoring the blurred dual image and more focusing on the parallax movement.
That's probably thanks to squinching, a technic Universal developed for the first time on this ride. The idea is to digitally morph the scene according to the position of the vehicle (our point of view). See here, it's clearly explained: ruclips.net/video/9rJqA4ivyQw/видео.htmlm8s

There aren’t any real drops, just a simulated one.

It only has a simulated drop.

2015 came and went. We even saw Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd on Kimmel. but what does Universal do? Tear out the Back to the Future ride and make it a Simpsons ride, when they have the money and space to have put Simpsons somewhere else. BTF opened in 1991; unlimited technology in the whole universe; ride motion fluidity has become unreal today, but no, they ripped out a classic. The Spiderman ride is pretty cool; have been on it before. Islands of Adventure was amazing and actually felt magical when it opened; now it feels trashed, like a Six Flags park :(

theyre actually pretty competitive if you look at the numbers
