the new peace dollar is one of the best coins ever stuck by the us mint... number 2 the $10 double eagle ....but that' just me saying what i thank...............
I agree - I much prefer the peace dollar of this series to the morgan. I think the proof morgans will have a lot better eye appeal. The morgans I received had some issues this year, the peace dollars seem perfect.
Sorry about the let down my friend , can't believe the U.S. Mint can't do as well as the Royal Canadian...sad !!! Thanks for sharing this with us in real time tho - its why you're so relatable and well-liked - you let yourself be a real human on air and we identify !!!
I wonder how many others, that purchased these Morgans, had similar damage on their coins. The Mint's Quailty Control has been great for alot of us error hunters but you'd think that they'd be alittle more attentive with coins like these Morgan dollars. Thanks for showing/sharing the ones you received.
What's next? I say you give them both away on your WhatNot auction stream......oh, wait, you did. You are a good guy, no matter what Amanda may say about you Shaun 👊🐕
One of 6 of mine had a few scratches but I turned that one into a pocket piece. The other 5 are ms69 to ms70. Overall I am satisfied with them and I was going to turn one into a pocket piece to begin with.
The video came across like this guy has some sort of hard on against commemorative Morgan and Peace Dollars coins. I liked the part when he took issue with the coin because the copyright on the box was dated 2022 and not 2023. Oh well, to each their own opinions.
@@guycleveland3897 Here's a tip, if when trying to open the capsule and it is causing a lot creaking and cracking, you're trying to open the air tight capsule the wrong way. You open an air tight (Air Tite) by gently and slowly prying with a thin blade continuously all the around the seam, lifting it little by little. Use a thin plastic guitar pick or something similar to gently pry with. Take your time because you're fighting against a very tight air (vacuum) seal fit.
I picked up a couple of the 2021 Morgan dollars, but since the mint had a lot of quality problems with those coins, I passed on these. You would think they could have fixed the quality issues before they released these, but I guess not. 🤷♀
I had to sell 2 of my 3 Morgans because my subscription reduction didn't register in time. I didn't have too much difficulty choosing which two to sell. But, the LCS paid me my purchase price, after some minor dickering.
With the amount of money the US Mint charges for these coins, the expected quality should be near perfect. After this video, I closely inspected my Morgan and Peace Dollars. Black filaments from the cheap coin holder insert are all over the inside of the capsules. The Peace Dollar viewed under magnification has small dark spots all over the reverse face. The Morgan under magnification has some hairline scratches on the obverse. I also found something interesting on the reverse. Two perfectly round small gold colored recessed dots in the field area just above the tips of the arrows. Wonder if there are other coins like this out there?
For the cost we should have much nicer packaging. Also, I ordered two of each just like you. One of my peace dollars was not secured in the box…loose. (Still in the capsule thankfully). I don’t see any obvious issues with either of mine but maybe one small spot on one of the Morgan’s. So, I think I am lucky based on some other rumors I am hearing. Thanks for all the great videos.
You could try to remove the scrap with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and rubbing it gently to see if the scrap is just residual plastic material. My guess is the capping automated process drug the air tight cap across the coin.
The neck mark you are seeing is also on the the MS 64 Morgan you showed. It's more pronounced now in the redesign. I have a weird mark at @8 o'clock on the obverse between the star and the rim. Opened my capsule too to be sure it was on coin, it was a bitch like yours to open.
Is the difference in luster from the original Morgan’s due to the better refinement of silver??? Or just crappy minting??? Bummer on the scratch maybe they do that to keep from overloading the hobby with ms 70’s….. lol thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
I’m sorry. These things are DOGS in my opinion. Woof! Woof! Poor imitations of the originals. No radiant, dazzling, cartwheel mint luster. I detest the satin look on them. Yuk! 🤮
You spend all that money and get a damaged coin! No one would sell you a new car at full price with a 3-inch dent on the hood, so what are those mint morons doing! I would send it back!
Everything is about presentation. Just like getting dressed in the morning to be presentable. When you spend this kind of money, why can they not have something better than a flimsy cardboard box. It’s just awful! You can buy a nice presentation piece for a few dollars and they could get it at such a discount with the amount they would buy. C’mon Mint, so many people would buy them if it was presented better.
United States border jumper mint fresh off the wall quality not a care in the world for your money and he got new shoes food stamps and a cell phone and a $500 a night motel room United States love of your money!!! Sorry Shaun this is just sick to the hobby..u can delete my post it just makes me sick!!! Love your videos u are a very up standing man in the coin world!!! SORRY FOR MY WORDS

Great video sir
These new coins have no luster, no cartwheel...they are nothing like the original ms finish... 😢
Agreed

Great
I'm glad I bought graded 2023 Morgan and Peace dollars.
Nice coins 👍👍❤️
I've heard that that same area has a different finish where a suction cup picks it up
That neck dimple is part of the design, look at the older coin, it is also on that one.
The off camera sounds of you trying to open that…. So funny
Sorry about the let down my friend , can't believe the U.S. Mint can't do as well as the Royal Canadian...sad !!! Thanks for sharing this with us in real time tho - its why you're so relatable and well-liked - you let yourself be a real human on air and we identify !!!
Cool!
My uncirculated Peace and Morgan's looked good, it was the Peace Proof that I had an issue with almost same as yours, with a mark on the coin.
That little nick or dent that is on the neck that you are talking about is on the '85- O as well.
The little nick or ding is not a flaw, it's a feature. It's part of the image.
😢 sorry about your scuffed coin. I'm still waiting on mine...
You are cracking me up😂😂😂. That capsule is kicking your butt. Sounds rough. 😅
Blueridge, the scuff is from the suction cups they use when putting the coins into the plastic holder
That scratch sucks
I was very disappointed with mine. Returned. Thanks for the video
Hahahah awesome video
Tight
I don’t know what it is, but mine has that same mark as well.
I’ve noticed a lot of the beat up coins have been from Philadelphia mint. Is it just that mint putting out bad coins? Does anyone know?

I like them even though they aren't as shiny.
@-qf4jl what is tex time?
The 1885 has the same notch in neck as the 2023.
I got 4 Morgans and far as I can tell no issues or damage.. Maybe I got lucky?
minus questionable 200, rest are worth their weigh in silver.
Shaun just look at both coins and the MS 64 you showed for that spot you thought was a strike through. It's part of the design.
One of 6 of mine had a few scratches but I turned that one into a pocket piece. The other 5 are ms69 to ms70. Overall I am satisfied with them and I was going to turn one into a pocket piece to begin with.
lol, I just got a 1889 P MS64 Morgan Silver Dollar for $75, money MUCH BETTER spent than the garbage you just unboxed !
sorry about the bad quality. at least you know which one to give away. your videos are always enlightning!
The spot on the neck is part of the coin. It’s on the 2021’s as well.
LMAO! "hope you guys are having a good dayyyyyeeeeeeeeeee" 😂
I just don't have the money love them those do that drop thing again😂 later
I wounder how those slab 2023 will come out once everyone starts buying them and they get them in there hands..
So funny that the airtight was kicking your butt 😂
I had a hard time with it, also

Wish it had more luster, Standing by for reverse proof!
That why they allowed ppl to buy 25 to get rid of their junk asap. Us mint is just totally into trying to mt your wallet

I skipped the uncirculated Morgan and Peace Dollar 😢
Planchet problems
Is what I see
Send it back
Why are they so damn expensive, should be about 50 bucks.
The US Mint decided to pay their employees a living wage and surprise you will need to pay for it if you want to buy from them.
I had to sell 2 of my 3 Morgans because my subscription reduction didn't register in time. I didn't have too much difficulty choosing which two to sell. But, the LCS paid me my purchase price, after some minor dickering.
@DERAHUND Madison Square Garden? Monosodium glutamate?
I bought 3 Morgans and two of them are worse than the one you were not happy with.
I got one each a Morgan and Peace Dollar from The US Mint and they are both Perfect!

Nice information thanks have a great day man 👨
I'll stick to the originals
Was excited for you Shawn then bummed out with you too! Lol! Thanks for sharing!

I received 2 of the Morgans today and they have that mark on the neck as well
For the price? Should be..
If u get a ms70 u got the best an will go up in value ms69 at least u have it
Would you believe one of the 2021d Morgans got a grade of MS62 from PCGS?
The mark on neck was on both coins. New 1 and graded 1 !!!
Both of mine a flawless to my naked, don't see anything taking away from it ❤
Don’t strain your Milk trying to open, lol
It's part of design
I got my Peace dollar yesterday and it had a big splotchy mark on the reverse. Pretty bummed but oh well
It was a struggle 😅
I’m sorry. These things are DOGS in my opinion. Woof! Woof! Poor imitations of the originals. No radiant, dazzling, cartwheel mint luster. I detest the satin look on them. Yuk! 🤮
I'll give you 20bucks and a pack os juicy fruit.
You spend all that money and get a damaged coin! No one would sell you a new car at full price with a 3-inch dent on the hood, so what are those mint morons doing! I would send it back!
I broke one opening it! They are tight 👌
You are not the only one trying to open it. You almost need suction cups to open it. I have trouble as well, only you were more successful!
Luck of draw. The 2 that I ordered are perfect. They all should be. I hope that the 2 Peace dollars that I ordered are as problem free as the Morgans.
Be like the Russians, get a Bigger Hammer!
She signed her work?
You better hit the gym
Don't let the California air contaminate the coin
I'll take it as long as you can get it together. 😂😂😂😂😂
Crack shit
