Great video. Using Windows 7 iso dl'd from Microsoft on my early 2011 (did the research) with Sierra and two separate SSDs, I got all the way until bootcamp restarted the computer (as if all was well), then it wouldnt boot from the usb that bootcamp created. Yes I did put on the bootcamp support software on the usb. All I get is the "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" when it restarts. Holding Alt (Option) doesn't bring the USB drive up when I force restart either.
Excellent video! Finally someone lays out the entire process clear as day! I need to do the Terminal work around cause my computer doesn't show the first option, that would have been a headache to try and figure out if you hadn't included it, thank you so so much, I'm feeling so grateful right now. I did this to my Mac a while ago, and I never use a thumb drive. All the videos I watched said you need a flash drive, but i sorta just skipped that step, and it still works fine lol
You must have used a DVD install disk, and skipped the support software, that's the only way I can figure you got it to work that way. It boots the setup off the DVD that way. If you didn't have a DVD or USB, I have no clue how it would have boot the setup.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I have followed the steps which you have mentioned in the video. After creating the windows partition, the machine got restarted, once it restarted, it's not recognizing the USB drive( I don't have CD/DVD drive so using USB). The message is "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" Model Name: Mac Pro (Mid 2010) Model Identifier: MacPro5,1 OS: macOS High Sierra. I am trying to install Windows 7. Can you please help me to fix this. Thanks in advance.
Hey, I'm installing Windows 10 Home on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2012). I have Sierra 10.12, and have followed your instructions in Bootcamp. For some reason after bootcamp finishes partitioning the drive and the computer restarts, it goes to a black screen that says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". Not sure why it didn't go to the Windows setup page.
You have to buy one or u will see one hanging around somewhere but if u don’t I got mine from Walmart. Or u can get one from amazon, but the USB has to be 8 GB or up. Hopefully this helped but tbh the USB is really cheap so it’s easy to get.
The problem is that mac mount rhe iso image and then let it at that state all the time, you have to go to disk tool and unmount the windows iso, then reboot and go again.
Mine froze after several hours, and now it's asking me if I want to remove my Windows partition even though it didn't even finish installing yet... I've been trying this ALL day and it's driving me crazy how I can't get it to work properly
Please help me, after the mac reboot and try to install the windows, my screen just black and the message "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" what i must to do bro?? Help me.

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GTP disks.
bro downloading the windows 10 iso file alone took me almost two hours tho
I would like you to help out on my error while I was installing Window 10 (Anniversary) on my MacBook Pro 15 Touch Bar.
These are the error message.
Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.efi
Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.
Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Startup Settings
So I can't press F8 as the Touchbar was not working when the screen popped up this error message and I don't have any external keyboard.
Additional Information:
I'm running macOS Sierra version 10.12.4
Boot Camp Assistant Version 6.1.0 (6050.50.6)
Please advice and your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
did you fix it:? I thought Microsoft actually recommended to install Win 10 Anniversary for Mac/Bootcamp users..
when i try the step after u choose the iso and click continue it should work like in this video but, i have 32 gb flash drive and it said my drive isn't enough , any solutions?
mee too
Please I’m having issues with my Mac 💻
It brought out this message “Your bootable USB drive could not be created” “There is not enough space available on the disk”
Hey Josh can you help me?
So basiclly, I followed your steps. But, when I click the continue button, it takes me straight to the partion area and tells me to partion it. I doesnt give me an option to put an usb or external drive. It also shows on that page the iso thing is automaticly deteced. I dont know why and even when I go forward with the process without using an usb, it finishes the proccess and says it cant download.
Hey SoFair,
You need to put in you USB before you start your bootcamp and not remove it in between. Boot camp usually automatically detects the downloaded ISO on your computer. You can change it using the choose option on the right side.

I successfully did everything until the installation of the Windows where an error occur which says, "Windows cannot install required files. The file maybe corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x080070570"
I've tried everything I can, but no signs of luck. I've tried different partition sizes, from 40-70GB, but no changes. I tried reinstalling the Windows 10 ISO as well, and went back from scratch, but the same error occurs. I tried almost like 4-5 times redoing all these procedures over and over again, even tried Windows 7, but the same error happens. Does anyone have this problem as well? :/
MY OS MACOS HIGH SIERRA 10.13.6, BUT check list instal windows is disabled and iso command button disappeared, boot. camp version 6.10..why..? thx
Hi Josh, I have a Mac Mini Server Late 2012. But only one SSD is installed. So Win 10 and OSX 10.12.2 must be installed on the same SSD. Is it safe to do that? Greetz from Germany Andy
Yes, just make sure to back up your OSX files on an external drive just in case. I've done it before, with no problems.
Thanx for your fast response. I'll give it a try. Have a nice day.
Do you think i can install Windows 7 on a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro? My MacBook Air is an early 2015 and my MacBook Pro is an early 2013. I have the original DVD of Windows 7. Thanks!
I installed windows on my Mac ,but it is not showing in the system preferences-> start up disk ,and I am not able to open windows by using option key while starting my Mac .please help with this problem
thank you
How come you have the first option "Create a windows 7 or later version install disk", and I DONT have??? This is whats bothering me.
He explained that on the video
Do u have a USB
I had that before but when I went to vilify disk, I found that bootcamp erased the OS X. Every time i manage to install Windows using bootcamp, it gets rid of OS X. Why does it happen?
hey can someone help me? i've tried installing windows 10 mutliple times but it keeps on saying that i don't have enought storage on my usb, i have a 16gb usb? so i tried to install windows 7 instead, but it won't let me. It says that the bootcamp doesn't support any windows lower than windows 10, how much is the prefered storage for the usb?
sweet!
Wish me luck
I'm running a mid 2010 iMac with Sierra. I've tried to partition my drive with Windows 7 (I have a physical dvd disc for this). It wont install and freezes my machine with each attempt. Perhaps my machine is too old?
so i clicked on erase and everything then it got to coping windows files and its taking forever
Hi I Want To Install Window 10 On Bootcamp Assistant And My Correct Version For Mac Is MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) And The Version Is 10.13.12 macOS High Sierra And For My BootCamp Assistant Is Version 6.1.0 But When I Installed The Window 10 Iso File It Says Need 64-bit Windows 8 or later ISO file. Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation. Is Their A Way For Me To Install Window 10 Without Having Window 8 Or Later Installation Without Having That Problem ?
how can i purchase windows 7????
thanks a lot for you videos really great and easy to follow
Question...so..if you were to do this and say you were working on a song on the windows side but then exported stems and needed to use them on the Mac side..how would you go about doing that if even possible?
You'd need an external or internal hard drive or thumb drives that was formatted to FAT32 so that both the Windows side and Mac side could read it. Unfortunately, the Mac side cannot directly read the Windows partition because it's NTFS.
When doing a format it says windows can't use this Disc!!
So i cancelled the installation then restored the dics and re-portion the disc agin!!
If it's the error i suppose it is, you should've watched the full video :/
I have installed window 7 on MacBook. Now I want to reinstall window 7 on it, how to do that. Because boot camp show only boot camp control, help etc plz help
Do you need a hard drive?
I was only using a USB.
"No bootable device -- insert boost disk and press any key" screen is the only thing that shows
Make sure your USB is plugged in. If it still gives that error try downloading the ISO file again
I have a MPB mid 2012 13...I pretend to switch the main drive(750gb HDD) to a 1TB SSD..And switch the optical bay to the older hdd(750gb HDD)with a caddy .Can I install win7 on the older drive, the 750gb HDD one? Even if its on the secondary drive?
Hmm. I hooked up an empty 64 GB thumbdrive, but it said there was not enough space on it.
have you confirmed that it is actually 64gb? there are a couple scams online that sell you what you think is a high capacity thumb drive, but in reality are like 8 gb sticks.
I'm getting this error once I open the windows installer. "windows setup encountered an internal error while loading or searching for an unattend answer file". Please help
