I loved it so much, I'm trying every faction to see which one I want to focus on more and all their intro is like ''I'll use the bear for something really important to me and somewhat profound'' while the ogre's are literally like ''god bbq could be good! Let's go to hell'' and I just love it!
its hilarious how all the other youtubers do a "ogre kingdoms feature episode" but play from the start of the campaign, play 3 battles, and dont even touch the ogre camps, its shameful honestly at least with legend of total war you always know you're going to learn something new
That's why I like legend tbh. He actually dives deep into the mechanics and uses it, showing off what you can do with it. I can't stand the way he cheeses every fight, I just find it to be unfun but he really knows his stuff and is able to see multiple different mechanics and show how they overlap. I've watched for instance the Khorne introduction video for several different youtubers, some completely fail to mention the auto colonize mechanic, and only Legend from what I've seen even bother to mention that you can increase the chance via technology, which is HUGE.
@@alecshockowitz8385 Yeah not everyone can get behind the cheese he does, but i think everyone who watches him can agree that he understand warhammer games better then 99.99% of people and the way he plays the map is something i look up to. I'm so fucking bad on map and only decent in battles. So i hope to be as good as he is with map stuff, probably going to be harder in WH3 because every faction has map mechanics unlike in WH2 and there is just more map stuff going on in general with outposts, new diplomacy and so on. So i know i'm going to struggle on that end, but hope to improve.

I remember people were so worried about the Ogres because they were another pre-order DLC like WoC and Norsca but looking at them it kind of seems the worry should've been the other way round, Ogres look like they were made at the same level of quality as the last few game 2 DLCs while the other launch races look like game 2 launch quality with some game 1 skill trees.
I don`t want to be that Guy, but Norsca where one of the most Fun Factions ingame when the Came out XD. Chaos Warriors where Shitty all the Way, but I would not be really surprised, if they become useless after a Few Dlcs for the Base Factions.
@@painkillerauflauf5770 yeah, when they came out Norsca was great, most likely the best thing CA made for game 1 but they never seemed to do well in game 2 and in their current state they're down there with pre-rework Wood Elves, pre-rework Beastmen and WoC. Vampire Counts are somewhat above them purely due to the fact that they are actually somewhat powerful but their age is also definitely showing compared to the races that got larger scale reworks. Ogres on the other hand look like they'll be quality for a while and the fact that they're confirmed to be getting at least one more lord in future (likely a lord pack since they're still missing a few units and a hero choice) means that they'll probably get a pick-up even if they do start falling behind.
@@painkillerauflauf5770 probably in the Lord pack alongside Yhetees and Bruisers. if I had to bet on who the lord would be I'd personally put my money on Golgfag Maneater with hopefully some more Maneater variants and customisable Maneater lords/heroes (the Customiseable stuff for the Daemon Prince looks like it'd be perfect for Maneaters). I know that other people are hoping for either Ghark Ironskin (who I'd say is entirely possible if they are released alongside something Chaos Dwarf related) or Bragg the Gutsman (who would fit more as a Legendary Hero than a lord since it's an important point in his lore that no Ogre would ever willingly follow him because they find his methods of killing too disturbing. I can certainly picture Bragg getting included but he really wouldn't fit as a LL). if the next LL the Ogres get does turn out to be Golgfag Maneater then that'd be a perfect time to rework the Ogre Mercenary contracts since they's currently the only part of their racial mechanics that seem underwhelming.
Actually looking forwards to the Ogres more than the other races, Kislev and Cathay are like fringe factions in the Warhammer world at best. They are mentioned and serve a purpose but don't give me the same nostalgic feel as the other races, and I've never really been into Chaos, a bunch of edge lords, prefer them being the enemy.
Am hopping we will get a Malice warriors of chaos subfaction that will actually be able to hold some negotiations with non chaos faction while having the war lockout with chaos factions. Especially with the alliance outposts functions and other perks I like the idea of some more impactful coinflip factions that can end up friend or foe randomly each campaign file.
I don't really care about any of the new races. I'll play each of them, but the thing I'm really looking forward to is kicking N'Kari as Teclis or purging the world of Chaos as the lizardmen xD (in a full size Lustria, hopefully)
No way there's less than 2 ogre dlcs. Ghark ironskin is definitely coming in to give the ogres super heavy armored units, and golfag Maneater is too iconic not include.
After 5000 hours of TWWH2 I decided I should buy a tabletop army. I found a huge Greenskin army on Ebay for cheap and it came with an Ogre army too. So I'm already in love with Ogres, def going them first.
For contracts I hope they can change to where they are structured similarly to quest battles, like letting you teleport to the battle destination and fight and complete the contract. It would at least help make them more relevant and less of a chore.
Recently played through the Ogre Kingdoms and they have a research now that does essentially allow unlimited camps. Need to get them to lvl 5 and it's an end of the tree research, but it's there.
So in the sense of ogre permament camps, you would have one that focuses on the military and the other for money and meat production, While having a few as temp camps when u go into enemy territory?
i dont really main ogres, and they never took my fancy but this is a campaign i can get into! i just hope they aren't limited to very few DLC in the future...
Free LC lord and then a dlc that includes yehtees and any other frost themed ogre kingdoms units, plus gorger Lord and some other LL. Likely they will also get units from Dogs of War update at some point, offering themed Maneater Ogres.

My neighbour, who has a cousin that knows a dude whose hairdresser told him that her friend's dad, who works for CA, had it on good authority that there is a vegan ogre kingdom DLC coming out soon.
Dude noblars are essential. You can boost their damage up to 42 but they help prevent leadership breaks. Late game you can make them insane. I run no less than two or three units in my front line.
I think as long as the Army is fun, I don’t mind bad faction effects. I mean, I love the Lizardmen but my dog did Sotek Cult get screwed in their faction abilities.
I'm currently playing cathay and it definitely feels like they have some gaps in their roster, kind of like skaven were pre-dlc in warhammer 2 (though not quite as weak). I don't know anything about their roster in the board game but I'd expect a ranged terracotta sentinel or something. Also some kind of high tier infantry that isn't anti-large and some monster units inspired by eastern mythology. Lots of possibilities for future DLC for sure.
I would like to point out a niche mechanic about noblars. If you have no meat they take all the attrition instead of the ogre units not sure about the usefulness of that.

Do ogres have cav at all? That charge bonus could be pretty good in a army with high charge bonus already, which could sort of make ogres like a bretonia except simpler and WAY higher unit mass.
folk of doom is posably my favorite spell it is so usful almost everywhere unless you have access to a just tacticly superior spell lore it's almost as good if not as good as fire or life in my opinion.

And, yet, the Cult of Sotek is still the most powerful Lizardman faction, ability-wise. CA did them dirty.

Yes, your army has to be in the circle of influence of an ogre camp to be able to recruit one ogre unit as mercenary.

They've completely overhauled the reinforcement mechanic. You can move the reinforcement point around the map, but they will take longer to arrive.

Poorly. Although their own ranged and artillery are VERY good. Leadbelchers are great and the 2 artilery pieces are great as well.
