Hilariously fun! Mint infused water or tincture can be put in a spray bottle and sprayed to deter ants & other insects…spray on exterior window sills, doorways, around patios, under picnic tables, etc. and spray inside but be sure to wipe down/in. Take spray bottle full with you on camping trips & for outside yard play. Spray around garden edges. Cut mint leaves up, fill ice cube trays full, then fill trays with water, freeze, then pop out cubes and put then in plastic a freezer bag…use cubes in recipes & in cooking (just a little bit of water will dissolve). For those living in wooded areas with deer…plant mint where you do not want deer…mint is highly invasive and will take over, so be sure you plant it where you don’t mind that happening…deer, and other animals hate it. Spray & leave leaves in basements and attics to deter mice & rodents. Mint is marvelous!
what you have is spearmint, used for cooking mostly. if you can find peppermint, you will discover a different stronger smell. peppermint is much better for tea and tinctures. spearmint is used mostly with lamb and rice for the lamb. a more delicate flavour for cooking comes from horsemint.
I pick it from my yard every morning to make tea. I also infused it in coconut oil with lavender that I also pick from my yard. I put it on my skin, and hair.
Didn’t really sell me on your reaction to the pesto lol I bought 1 mint plant a few weeks ago and have been snipping and rooting longer stems. From that one plant about three weeks ago, I now have over 10 mint plants potted and doing wonderfully. Planning on sharing them with friends and using as ingredient. Great for use in homemade bar soaps-should be fully dried and ground down to prevent/reduce rot. Great exfoliant.

Mint is the most underrated culinary spice ever...start cooking meats with a splash of mint not a lot cuz its flavor is very powerful...but enough to just get that hint of note cuz it goes very well with natural flavors of meat in small dosages if used right it can get rid of the gamey mutton taste that some meats get...im literally surprised that chefs all around the world dont use this spice regularly to shape meat flavors to where they want it...dont believe me make your regular meatballs with what ever recipe your using...add just a hair of mint...cook a few dabs of meat to test to see if you have the right amount keep adding mint until you can get that slight note...and boom you just made the best meatballs ever
