    This Mint Jelly Sauce is fabulous. The privilege of being Suzy’s sister-in-law has countless perks. I was lucky to have tasted the watermelon salad dressed with this mint jelly sauce accompanied with a delightful mojito. I can also attest that it goes very well with meat as I tried it for lunch today. Next time I will try it as a dessert, with watermelon cubes topped with a dollop of fresh cream. Thanks, Suzy!

      Almerinda, thank you! I’m so glad you liked it as much as I did! I do think it would be great as a dessert too. Thanks again for supporting my channel.

    Good to know that mint repels rodents. I have mint on our frontyard but its on the planter ,maybe I should directly plant them on the ground ..By the way, great ideas on mint preserves . thanks for sharing

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  Год назад +1

      Oh wow!. I’m so glad it’s also a repellent, I didn’t know that. Mint spreads easily. Sometimes you need edging to contain it to one area. So nice to brush up against it and get that refreshing fragrance. Thanks for watching and sharing.

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  3 года назад +2

      Ahhh basil! I love it too but I don’t have my supply yet to make a video. But I do like it in a basil butter that I can freeze. Also, basil strawberries and balsamic reduction is an excellent and not so usual combination. Thanks for watching.

    What is the weight of the packet of pectin. Can I use pomona instead

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  11 месяцев назад

      Hi there. I’m not familiar with that brand, pomona, I would look to it’s instructions for amounts. I used bernardin no sugar needed pectin and it’s 49g in one packet. Thanks for watching

      I really don’t know. I don’t think a lot because we are boiling it to make our jelly. It is much better than store bought because it doesn’t have all those others additives that you may not want to eat. Thanks for watching.

    Interesting ! I thought this recipe was for Diabetics, SUGAR is a strict NO NO. Also, here in the UK we do not have "erbs" but we do have "HERBS"

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  11 месяцев назад

      I used monkfruit sugar which is diabetic friendly. Alternatively, you can use sugar cane ,in the same amounts , if sugar is not a concern. I love the English accent! Thanks for sharing and watching.

      Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Personally, as a Type 2 Diabetic I have removed ALL forms of sugar from my diet, the result is I now only need to take 8units of insulin daily, hence my comment I now live in an apartment and grow my Mint in planters, it is used for making TEA. But after watching your video will have a go at making mint jelly. (just have to locate the ingredients). You like the English accent, how about this one you call it or-eg-ano We call it "or-e gan o" just a bit of fun?😇@@suzyrebelo

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  11 месяцев назад

      Oh wow. That’s wonderful how you can use diet to reduce your insulin intake. I know about oregano, it sounds funny to me too. Laughing is good for you too 😆

      With videos such as yours, one cane make the subtle adjustments, one huge No NO for a diabetic is white bread in any form, and growing my Herbs and advice on use, such as yours is indispensable. What it proves is, if you give the body a chance, it will cope with most events, it also proves my Pancreas is still functioning, just needs a tad amount of help. Keep up your videos Suzy, you are helping a lot of people, (more than you think) "more power to your elbow" a positive English praise. 😇
