Possibly one of the most underrated battles in history, ancient China vs the Abbasid Caliphate? Let's go baby! This is possibly the battle that caused paper to spread throughout the Arab world all the way to Europe and the battle that started the Turks' adoption of Islam which leads centuries later to the Seljuks and the Ottomans
Indeed. The battle is often overlooked because it wasn't one of those battles that have an immediate impact, but rather it had "perfect timing" that had consequences for centuries to come. As historians often say: "in history, timing is everything!"
Hey Dennis. Thank you very much. This one was fun to work on, really complex and a slightly controversial topic due to conflicting sources. Love every bit of this project.

It's very interesting that a Korean General thousands of miles away from home, which was conquered by Tang dynasty not long ago while him also being one of its royal family, fought FOR Tang, against Muslims, dealing affairs with nomadic Turkish tribes. Very unique and really a global event taken place here. So many things are intertwined in this even, we could actually spend days talking about what led these generals to this dramatic battle ground.

A brilliant documentary, I really enjoyed it, so thank you. But I'll have one recommendation. As a Turkish man, I found the pronunciation of "Uighurs" really annoying. Since Uighurs -Uygurlar in Turkish- were a Turkic people, it would be better if it had been said as it would be in Turkish. The first syllable is the problematic one. I could send you a sound file how to pronounce it in Modern Turkish, if you'd like to
then the pronunciation of Turkey should be also changed... the Chinese pronunciation Tuerqi or Tuerchi is more similar to the real Turkish pronunciation.

This battle changed the history of the world in two respects, the first is the conversion of the Turks to Islam and bringing them from Central Asia to the Middle East and determining Anatolia, which led to the emergence of the Ottoman Empire and then the Turkish state - the second is the paper that the Arabs brought with them and it was like the Arabs’ gift to the world that led to the emergence of the Industrial Revolution and from Then the modern world we live in today
The only thing that has changed is that your Arab countries have acquired the art of papermaking.
@@pointrainbow3091 This is a battle that made Central Asia Muslims, so you have to admit that it is a historical battle that changed the world, and after it, China did not return to Central Asia after that. This means that China has already been defeated militarily.

This single battle changed the world
Is it because of taking the paper to europe

Withoum this battle the ottomans wouldn't exist and the new world wouldn't be discovered until at least the 18 century

Turks didn't become Muslim before 912 - 940. Slaves maybe as soldiers. Turks never accept a religion with force. Before Islam Turks were monoteist.
Amazing job ! im a huge fan of all your work .
Thank you very much!
I could send you a sound file how to pronounce it in Modern Turkish, if you'd like to
Thanks for the tip! Sure, you can send the file to me on Facebook, my profile link is on my RUclips channel main page.
Denizhan Acar I agree with you, it makes no sense to pronounce the word “ Uygurs,”or “Uigurs” as weegers” as the English speeding world do.
then the pronunciation of Turkey should be also changed... the Chinese pronunciation Tuerqi or Tuerchi is more similar to the real Turkish pronunciation.
Waw realy it is great to watch this chanel you great guys big fan 🤝
Thank you so much 😀
